I have been attending SUU online this past semester from Texas. This school does not have a decent online program despite what marketing tells you. After visiting campus, it appears if you are attending locally it may be good, but online, no deal and here's why: The placement tests cannot be taken online. You must visit campus for ALEKS mathematics testing. Online students are charged the whole gamut of fees including gym, museum, tutoring, and wifi fees even though actually utilizing these services is impossible from 1,500 miles away. When I brought this up, their reply was basically "We can understand how this is unfair to you, but well.. sorry." Online courses come with their own hefty technology fees and the professors basically rely on McMillan Online phoning the entire course in. Very little interaction with professors sometimes waiting weeks for a response to e-mail. I have been trying to change my major for FIVE MONTHS without any progress. The registrar's office claims to have never gotten my faxed paperwork the three times I sent it. When I visited campus in person, they could not tell me where the online advisor's office was located at. Online program offerings are very slim. Some required-to-graduate classes are listed as online, but require campus activities. Complete waste of time. If you are looking for an online program, look elsewhere. Your money is wasted at SUU. read more

Southern Utah University has been the worst school to have to deal with. My oldest son decided to attend there for a variety of reasons. From the start the staff there have been nothing but difficult to deal with. Every time you reach out to anyone, even student success, their response is less than professional, or geared to helping students achieve success academically. Not only that, but the lacrosse program there is so under supported. As a parent having to deal with these people, from the admin to the department heads, I have been very disappointed. Universities need to realize that students and the parents paying for their schooling, are their customers. Teachers need to be less arrogant and egotistical and realize that their place is to teach and help their students be successful. Failing them only really makes you look like a lousy teacher. Until the staff of Southern Utah University realize that they need to be respectful and helpful to the students and their parents, they will never meet their full potential. DON'T waste your time or money attending that school. Seek education elsewhere. read more

Hands down the most unorganized and unprofessional school I've ever encountered! Heaven forbid you bring anything to their attention cause they will deny all responsibility for their mistakes. They are notorious for being focused on being paid and not rectifying issues with being able to register for classes. Be prepared for zero support from the registrar or cashier's office as they are completely incompetent and have no sense of the fact that you are their customer. In fact if you get slightly annoyed of their incompetence a manager may ever HANG UP ON YOU! This school is a joke, the prices go up and the quality goes down. Have fun trying to get an education surrounded by uneducated administration. The only redeeming quality this institution has is the town that it resides in and even then they are destroying all that is good about that. read more

Amazing. I loved it here. Small town, but it's really great. Good teachers, the school gets you involved. Lds and non lds Culture so you can find both. Really nice exercise science programs. read more

I really like SUU, as a visitor. We went to see the Air Force Band perform at the Music Building, and the concert was incredible. Last Spring we saw Die Fledermaus at SUU, and while some aspects of the opera had struggled, the lead singer, Adele, knocked it out of the park. I saw the same opera at the U, and I thought both leads were phenomenal. Come to SUU! There is definitely talent here, and for fall the Shakespeare festival is such a fun thing to do here. read more

I love going here. The teachers and advisors are great. Classes are small and they really want you to succeed and they help you get there. It is very affordable and a quality education with the fun college life. I would recommend it to everyone. read more

I just took my daughter and friend there for a campus tour. We were so impressed with each employee as well as the campus. Kara was an amazing tour guide and was completely knowledgable. We threw many questions her way and she knew the answers to all. This campus seems perfect for the student who would like a more intimate experience of college life. We were so impressed with their pre-med program ratings. Well done SUU. My daughter is looking forward to the application process this fall. read more
