Dr. Molly Tipton was my technician; she said they were short-staffed that day and she didn't normally do that job, but she was wonderful nonetheless. Dr. Rich McCurdy performed my exam and was very thorough, friendly yet professional. Afterwards, a lovely young woman named Maria helped me pick out some super cute new frames, and even made sure that the frames I picked were fully covered under my insurance! Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend this clinic!

I was shocked. I was going to mention this to the doctor but when the doctor came in, they seemed in a rush and truly didn't even greet me kindly. I was a new patient so I expected atleast a small introduction. I mentioned to the assistant about concern with floaters and the doctor didn't go over that. It all seemed rushed and no true concern. They were changing my prescription and not giving an explanation? If they did explain it wasn't in detail. It all felt rushed, odd and off putting. signed, sadly disappointed

Dr. Essinger is hands down the best optometrist I have ever seen. The staff at Vestavia Eye Care was friendly and helpful from the moment I reached the front counter. The initial tests and evaluations were thorough, especially when I told them some recurring issues I was having. (Note: make sure you have at least an hour for your exam if you have an issue.) When I told Dr. Essinger the issues I had been having for two years that were unsolved mysteries for every doctor I saw, he was the first to care. He ran texts on me I had never seen and he came up with two theories for me to test. In fact, he was so concerned that he told me to text him as soon as I had progress. His caring concern brought tears to my eyes! Birmingham- We are so fortunate to have this office here! If you need a reliable optometrist for your family, look no further!
