This open and affirming, woman-led church works very hard to turn their words into actions. They…read morecultivate a community garden and send a large amount of fresh produce to the nonprofit FoCo Cafe. They're coordinating with three different nonprofit organizations to build affordable housing on their land. They host families from Faith Family Hospitality, a local nonprofit who provides temporary housing to families in need. They host Kids At Heart, a foster care respite program. And the church community of Heart of the Rockies does so much more than just these things! At a time when the Christian Church at large does so much harm in the world, I appreciate that this church is consistently producing real, tangible, positive change in Fort Collins. We're lucky to have them!

Things I love about my church 1. Progressive, open and…read moreaffirming (LGTQIA+ people and women celebrated and present in leadership), works to DO social justice in addition to seeking knowledge and education on it 2. Small groups based on interests and life stages. Just to name some things I do - monthly game nights with the 20s-30s age group, lead weekly youth group with kids, and sing in the choir. 3. Great programs for kids and teens, super welcoming to kiddos of all ages and abilities, mission trips, camp, all-age church events 4. They actually put their money where their mouth is when it comes to doing good work - working to understand the needs of our community and put that into action by feeding, clothing and housing our neighbors At the end of the day, the best part is the people. There are so many ways to get involved and "do life" in community together at Heart of the Rockies.
