Exit row priority seat for no extra charge with the Southwest VISA priority card!
    Greg L.

I've read all the negative news about the Southwest boarding process changes, but my first experience since they went to assigned seating was exemplary! A lot has to do with me being a Priority VISA card member, I'm sure. With their Priority card, I chose the Basic fare price, but was allowed to pick my seat when I booked for no additional charge. Also, my first bag was free. Then, 48 hours before I needed to check in, I got to upgrade to a premium seat (based on availability) for no extra charge. I got an exit row seat with extra legroom and was able to board among the first passengers as a Group 2 recipient. Then, you were offered a special treat of sweet or savory pistachios before the regular beverage service started. Now, I'm heading back to Orlando from BWI and I was able to get all the same perks for my departure back home at a Basic Fare price! If you fly Southwest as much as I do, the Southwest Priority VISA card is a must. The annual service fee paid for itself on my first flight!

March 2026 Very pleased with Southwest during my visit to Orlando! Jessica at gate 108 was super friendly & helpful! She was able to get me on standby on a direct flight so I wouldn't have to stay on a flight with a connection.

I fly southwest frequently for short term flights and cross country trips. This airline is pretty consistent. I must say, I'm not thrilled about the new revamp seating system but the quality service remain the same and here at Orlando Airport is no different. Southwest Airlines is the largest at MCO.

Always a great experience flying on WN. Everyone is exceptional minus some of the passengers, but hey what can you do. Since my flight was only an hour from ATL, this kids pure enjoyment of pushing and talking loudly was somewhat acceptable. I think it was his first flight and I'm sure he'll figure it out later. Anyways, I'm home and guess what, I'm going back to work.

Staff was very friendly and attentive, but have flight couple times and don't know why it takes them long time to depart on time , so always getting delayed at destination , this plane had power connections so that was a big plus , not all their planes have power connections...

This is the vicious handling of our suitcase

The attendances were rude to all on board and they damaged my luggage where I now have to buy a new one. They gave credit but we don't want to fly them ever again!

Southwest Airlines has a great points system. As an A-list preferred member, you will have priority seating and priority lanes for assistance.

I normally fly non-stop to Orlando from Las Vegas, Round-trip when I go to Florida. There are typically a few SWA flights that go non-stop between Las Vegas and Orlando. Our flight left on a Wednesday morning from Las Vegas, with an arrival into Orlando around 2:30 P.M. We had a scheduled return flight back to Las Vegas on a Sunday, leaving Orlando around 8:00 A.M EST. Check-in to the terminal for Southwest Airlines for arriving and departure was seamless for Orlando. Sometimes, there can be a long wait time to drop off check-in luggage. My mom and I got lucky though! There was only about a 15 minute wait to drop off checked luggage. Check-in for the flight is 24 hours in-advance. You can get early check-in for better boarding assignment. Right now, you can get in boarding assignments A, B, C from 1-60 with open seating. Southwest will be updating to assigned seating towards the end of 2025 though! Southwest Airlines service in the Orlando International Airport was amazing! On the flight, Southwest offered complimentary drink and water service, as well as some snacks! Seats were spacious and comfortable! Flights arrived on time!

MCO to HOU Delayed and oversold. By three. The starting offer....$800. Just one taker. So, we waited and waited and waited. I needed to go back to work, so it was not an option for me. I guess others needed to go to work, too. The next offer...$1600. Lots of volunteers were interested. If I was retired, it would have been a very tempting offer. $3,200 would have bought a lot of nice flights on Southwest Airlines. LUV SWA

My last review was 9 years ago; I feel it's time for an update. =) We've now moved from Jacksonville and have lived in Orlando for the past several years. Our oldest daughter and her family live in the North Texas area, so we fly into Dallas Love Field fairly often to visit them. It's a non-stop flight from MCO to Love Field and takes almost 3 hours... that does include time for taxing, landing, etc. Since it was the Christmas season, it took us longer to get through TSA and the plane had already started boarding, so we weren't able to get seats at the front, but that was perfectly ok because my service dog who is a standard poodle had plenty of room to curl up on the floor where hubby and I were sitting. The flight wasn't full, so they even gave us an extra seat so Brady (service dog) would have even more room. The flight attendants went out of their way to make sure Brady was comfortable because this was his very first flight. I can't applaud them enough! Even though I had water for him, they still brought water for him and just oooo'd and ahhhh'd over him. =) Brady was a bit confused when we got up in the air, I think because his ears started popping, so even though he was suppose to stay on the floor, they allowed him to sit in the seat curled up between us so he felt more at ease with his first flight. He did get back on the floor and lie down when it was time to land, and I have to say, Brady did a stand up job! Extra applause for him!! Love Southwest. Will always fly with them as long as they are flying to the destination I want to go. Not gonna lie, my husband is a teacher and we don't make nearly enough money to fly first class on another airline, and I also just love the fact that 2 bags fly free per person!

Several hours at the airport was already expected and accounted for, but then my Alaska Airlines flight was delayed for no reason and continued to be delayed at every hour interval until we finally left the ground at 11pm. We were never told why it was delayed so much. There is absolutely nothing to do at this airport, or at least in the terminal I was in. They could at least add some random small Disney store or fun bar in the area! There weren't any charging stations or work tables to busy oneself. I just spent the time pacing back and forth the outdated large hallway watching some idle planes, and sat around. On the flight, they didn't even give us more than one snack to compensate! The TSA line was oddly long, too. It wrapped around several times, but it may have been because of recent REAL ID confusion. They seemed to be on the watch for something, because they had some dogs walking back and forth as people crossed a section one by one. At least the security is active here? Checking in a few hours before board time got us a window and adjoining seat near the middle of the plane, behind the wings. For certain T-Mobile plans, you get free wifi on the plane. Entertainment is only offered when you connect to your own device - they removed the seat tablets. There are USB and charging outlets on the seats. I usually prefer flying with Alaska Airlines, but this experience was maddening.

Before this trip, we'd always stayed at Polynesian and Grand Floridian. They are both Deluxe resorts, and they share with Contemporary, and all of those resorts are right next to each other, so it didn't really bother me. But this time we were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we stopped at Art of Animation and Pop Century before getting to AKL. I just think the Deluxe resorts are so much more expensive that they could get their own busses. In any case, I landed at the airport at 3:45, was on a bus by 4:15, and on resort at 5:07. I don't think it's worth the cost of an Uber to get there like a half hour faster, but that's up to you. One thing that's great about Disney is that you don't need to worry about transportation at all once you get there, and I really appreciate that. And if you check bags, you don't even need to get those, and they'll deliver them right to your room. I had a very early flight home though, and they picked me up excessively early. I got picked up at 5:30am for an 8:30am flight. I didn't have luggage, but if I did I could have checked it at the resort, so no one needs to be at the airport that early. I sat around for a good 2 hours before my flight. That might have been worth taking an Uber just so I could sleep another hour. Navigating their website and app was a bit confusing so the day we flew out, we had to update his KTN with the check-in agent.
