It's in the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge, you drive down a long dirt road to reach the beach. It is not always possible to travel the road & should be avoided during hurricanes. You should drive extremely show to preserve the road for residents & other visitors, and to enjoy the wildlife. If you cannot make it to the end of the road b/c it's taking too long, you're visiting for the wrong reasons. Great place to interact with fiddler crabs. Visit the ruins of the old hotel.

Beaver Lake has 3 paved hiking trails. All beautiful! Today I tried their Green Trail which is only two miles. The lake seems small but open for fishing. You must have your AL fishing license to fish here. Around the lake there is shade and there are plenty of picnic benches. The area also hosts a Disc Golf Course which seems pretty cool. Next to the lake they have two small playgrounds, trees and from what the signa state no dogs allowed but they are allowed on the trails which is weird because it passes by the lake area so idk. Nevertheless, they do have bags for proper poop disposal. I really enjoyed the lake and the trails around it, I cannot believe no one had ever even put it on yelp. Its pretty awesome!!! First we went about 30 minutes out to one of his spots and caught 12 Sheephead all of sizable quality within 30 minutes (we threw back 4-5 smaller ones) and then we went inshore for Spanish mackerel and caught 5 in about 30 minutes then we went for some trout, no luck so we moved on quickly to look for Redfish, we caught a few up in the beautiful river but it was slow so we went to try for some more Spanish. What a trip. So many experiences and he was really knowledgeable. I fish all over and he's one of the most knowledgeable Captains that I've met.
