It was packed (maybe it was us going at the wrong time!) but the staff we good pleasant and helpful when needed. One criticism i do have is the lockers dont have a locks on them so you have to bring your own lock or buy one. This is slightly annoying! The changing rooms are clean and the booths are perfect for changing / getting babies sorted out! The price was a not too bad, for all three of us (2 adults 1 infant) it came to around £12 which i shouldn't complain at all in all not too bad

The kids pool used to have animals painted around the walls and was really bright and cool. The adult pool is a moderate size, good enough to swim a few lengths. It's changed quite a lot now as it has become more corporate but it's still got the same aspects of a leisure centre you would expect. A good pool for the family.

There is plenty going on and it is run by SDC so is linked with the leisure centres in Sevenoaks and Swanley meaning membership can be used in any of the three. They run some great kids activities in the school holidays and also toddler activites every week. Access is great, staff are friendly and there is plenty of parking.

The play area is really compact, as everything is in a self contained cube, covered in strong netting that goes up to 3 levels in height (almost to the ceiling). So whilst its a good use of space, it doesnt leave much room around the edges for parents to sit and have a rest (there was a private party that had most of the tables reserved). At the same time its the only area where children can run from one area to the next so at times it can also get very crowded. When we went we didnt really relax as the only seats were next to a very noisey football game (yes we expected it to be noisey but not to struggle to speak to each other!). There were also trays of food on tables which hadnt been cleared away, so that didn't leave a great first impression either. When you go it might be quieter and cleaner, but at least our children seemed to enjoy it, and its near to where we live so we might go again. But only if we cant find anywhere better!

It cost £5.30 for two and a half hours skating with a resident DJ playing tunes. The hire skates were in reasonable condition and using my usual trick of studding handkerchiefs down the side of the skates to stabilise my ankles, they fit quite well The rink is Olympic sized but was still busy on Friday evening. It was mainly a young crowd here but the behaviour was quite good, probably as alcohol wasn't available. Although not the best or most experienced ice skater, I still had fun and was even able to have a few forays into the middle of the rink with the aid and support of my friend. By the end of the evening, there was quite a lot of melted slush on the surface but for the number of skaters, the ice held up well.

Fairly easy trek and you pass a lido close by which I keep meaning to visit when the suns out. So Spectrum is an ice skating, multi leisure pool and ten pin bowling experience - we normally get a combi ticket for ten pin bowling and swimming. Pools first - in fact 4 pools to cater for everyone's needs. The main pool is strictly leisure plus a diving pool with springboard, 3m, 5m and 10m boards, a 25m lane pool, and a kids shallow pool. Good selection of slides for all ages but none of them contenders, The kids enjoy the three lane race slide best. This is geared for family fun - the slides are all pretty slow and short - they snake around the pool within the building which means they are never going to be long enough for any speed. Shower jets, wave machine, bubble jets,inflatable ring slide. various little kids slides. Main pool is simply too small and is always uncomfortably busy - pretty poor wave machine. Sessions are 90mins (we always mange to overstay) - not really long enough but good value at £15 for an adult and two under 10's. Unless your kids are in swimming clubs its pretty hard to find a pool where they can dive in London any more. Over the last 10 years practically all of them have brought in diving bans for health an safety reasons. Pools we used to dive at wont let us now. But Spectrum is like no other for diving. So kids can dive in the 25m lane pool - a great start - perfect for my 9 year old to practice her racing dives. But the diving pool is the wildest of all - 3 boards in action at the same time - you can somersault, run, jump, dive, spin - yes actually have some fun - all the other diving pools we know are really strict about one at a time and what you can do. Awesome - worth the four stars alone. You get lots of people just watching and the queue that snakes around the pool show how much the kids love it.. Grim Wimpy burger bar (yes they still exist) - this is really, really awful - and a Costa upstairs - they do pizzas in the basement bowling area. Loads of green space outside for picnics - which is what we normally do. We probably visit a couple of times a year - the main pool looks good but kind of flatters to deceive - but the diving is just the best. Skating rink ls large and we will use one time we visit . Its great having the bowling as it makes for a proper day out. Recommended - despite the main leisure pool probably being best suited for under 10s with not much thrill factor.

When I…read moreintroduced myself at the desk and said that it was the first time I was visiting, the lady on reception was so friendly and helpful, gave me a tour of the facilities, explained that the pools are public and the health club side is members-only, but that through Move GB I could choose which side to use. As I was only there to swim I gave the sauna and steam room a miss this time and went on through to the pool side. Only the main pool was open (it was around 7.30pm on a Thursday), but it is a good sized pool. There is also a teaching pool and I think there are outdoor pools too for summer! There were a few different lessons happening, and the two remaining lanes for lane swimming were a bit confusing and not very well patrolled in regards to the direction of swimming, and the whole pool was quite busy. This was probably worsened when half of one of those lanes was cordoned off for an aqua aerobics class, but it didn't bother me as I took part in the class! And it was great exercise! The changing rooms are mixed/ family ones, a good size with plenty of lockers that take tokens, which you can get for £1 from reception. Overall a welcoming place, and probably better when it is not quite so busy!

But in reality all it provides is a separate changing rooms for monthly paying guests The entrance lobby is poorly designed and the men's changing room is split into two on the ground floor, fitted out with what looked like the cheapest fittings they could find. Upstairs on the main gym floor - most the equipment was showing its age. All 1990's equipment squeezed in. The dumb bells had chunks missing from the rubberised edges and looked terrible. Considering the competition around, its extremely poor value for money. Having been a member at more modern gyms, you really notice how totally out of date and ratty this place is.

Lovely Victorian park tucked away in Camberwell and full of locals! The park has a few walking trails, an amazing cafe, a Victorian bandstand (with summer weddings!), tennis court, outdoor nursery and play area for children, a dog park and much more. It's busy throughout the day, full of people of all ages and lots of cute dogs! I recommend the Little Cat Cafe inside the park for nice sandwiches and drinks and friendly staff.

Myatt's Firleds Park is a nice park, they run the park by a handful of staff and many volunteers…read more But I do not recommend volunteering there if you have mental and/or physical disabilities. I have trauma, have raised many issues of health and safety within the greenhouse and kitchen area, which they have fixed now, but as some staff discriminate and don't keep their own policies, they try to get of me. Other volunteers with physical health issues and mental health problems are beind discriminated against. Often they said things like "If you are triggered / have food allergy / can't be on time (due to walking disability) then you should come". I raised a grievance which was held by a new staff who worked at HR in another company, but as I have no rights as a volunteer, they hardly listened in the hearing and threw so many chaotic questions at me to throw me off. If you want to work there as paid staff, you will be fine, but NOT as a volunteer. If the admins of this site don't believe me, I have written evidence. The park itself is lovely, staff are "safe" and protected by law, but volunteers with health issues have not been treated well, but they now changing t as I raised issues in writing and they get rid of me to claim the credit for all the changes.

Downham library is also in the building, and a Health Centre. The creche is the best - great value for money and amazing staff - both my children have to be dragged out of there. My favourite classes are spinning with Ellie and Hi-Lo Aerobics. The only down side is the car park - you can only park for 2 and a half hours - be careful as it's done by camera and if you go over you get slapped with a fine automatically. With so much to do in there, it's easy to spend a lot longer there - I always have to run out and re-park!

It's still pretty new as it was built nearly three years ago and has been maintained well ever since. The swimming pool has got a great viewing gallery and the swimming pool looks out onto the the green fields of Durham Hill! The gym facilities are of a good standard too - I was pleasantly surprised! They do not have a sauna, steam room or jacuzzi though, but they do have fitness classes. I recommend the Spinning sessions - they are very popular, but very punishing for the legs! I would recommend that you travel there by bicycle (there are lots of places to lock your bicycle outside the Centre) or use public transport, because the parking is very limited. If you're lucky to get a space, the you only have two and a half hours otherwise you get fined £90 - so be warned!
