Dr. Jenn Dalton has been a dentist since 2008. She and her employees offer general, cosmetic,…read morerestorative, and other dental services. They accept some dental insurances and also offer a membership plan. Since 2021, I have been a patient here. All hygienists and Dr. Dalton have spoken nicely with me and done high-quality work, including bitewing x-rays, cleaning and polishing my teeth, filling cavities, creating a mouthguard for my tooth-grinding, professional whitening with Opalescence Boost, and selling at-home tooth-whitening with Opalescence PF. (Please see my previous reviews below for past details.) Dr. Dalton stopped accepting my dental insurance a while ago, but she and her staff are so excellent that I pay them out of pocket for services, and they submit paperwork to my insurance company for my reimbursement.

I went to Dr Dalton on the recommendation of my dental surgeon…read more I went in for an estimate for some bridge work & implants. Everything was great, The Dr was very nice and pleasant, The staff very nice and friendly. The office was nice and clean and overall great. My issue started when I called to get the estimate after several weeks of not getting one. The woman answering the phone was very nice and said she would get back to me???. Then after about a week I called again and spoke with a woman again not sure if the same one. The woman who represents Dr Dalton said to me that I was basically making a mistake going to Dr Dalton that she only did single implants and was not that experienced at doing multiple implants. Wow that blew my mind as my oral surgeon loves Dr Da=lton and I have 2 friends that see dr dalton as a regular dentist. Hell I liked Dr Dalton and would trust her to do regular dental work. Unfortunately what I needed done was not something I trusted Dr Dalton to be doing fo me after what the person said about her on the phone. Regardless of whether or not Dr Dalton is up for the work or not, I never herd of a receptionist or a nurse or whatever the person was who spoke with me bad mouthing the Dr. That is a new one for me and unfortunately I could not take a chance on it. As I said before I think Dr Dalton is really nice and friendly and came highly recommended. I hade a very hard time deciding on a star amount on one had i found Dr Dalton to be great and super nice on the other hand the person answering the phone basically said was not up to the task???? I give them 4 stars as the Dr was super friendly and nice and came highly recommended by many people but i give them 1 star as the person answering the phone does not even have confidence in their boss. overall i give them 2 stars

So, first, any pre-2020 reviews are for previous management. The practice is now called Hartwood…read moreDental Associates and is run by Dr. Brian Bonczek -- who is fantastic. If you're searching for a dentist in the Pittsburgh area, go here. I'm new to Pittsburgh and made the mistake of going to a different highly-rated dental office. They were cold, rushed, and gave me several fillings, one of which has been painful for weeks. I went to Dr. Brian to fix the previous dentist's mistakes. Dr. Brian is what a dentist should be: Empathetic, patient, informative, and very capable. I couldn't even tell when he injected anesthetic -- that's how smooth he is. Nice guy. Took his time with me. The dental assistants and office staff are friendly. The office is warm and inviting. I've been in and out of different dental practices as I've moved around. Bad dentists are common. Mediocre ones, even more so. Great ones are rare. I'm not getting compensated for this review. No one asked me to leave it. But trust me, this is a top-notch practice. I wish I came here first.

I have been a patient at Hartwood Dental Associates for nearly four years, and for the past two…read moreyears I've been bringing my son with me to appointments. During that time, the entire staff--from the front desk, to the dental hygienists, to Dr. Brian Bonczek--have always been pleasant with my son and have interacted with him kindly. Because of that, I have always felt comfortable bringing him with me to my visits. Unfortunately, my experience today was extremely disappointing and quite shocking. When Dr. Brian Bonczek came into the room, I was told that I could no longer bring my two-year-old son back with me and that in the future I should either leave him in the waiting room or find a babysitter. This was the first time I had ever heard of this rule. When I scheduled the appointment, I specifically tried to arrange back-to-back appointments for my husband and me so that one of us could watch our son while the other was being seen, but that option was not available. The scheduling staff also knew that I would be bringing my two-year-old with me, and no one mentioned any policy about children not being allowed in the treatment area. Given that they were aware of my situation, including the fact that I am pregnant and caring for a toddler, this is something that absolutely should have been communicated to me prior to my appointment, not while I was already in the chair having my teeth examined. What made the situation even more upsetting was the way it was handled. I have never had a negative interaction with Dr. Brian Bonczek before, but today felt completely different. When I mentioned that perhaps I should consider finding dental care elsewhere, his response was dismissive and essentially said, "yeah, maybe you should," which I found incredibly unprofessional. If policies have changed, that is understandable, but they should be communicated clearly and respectfully ahead of time. Springing that information on a patient mid-appointment--especially a pregnant mother with a toddler--is not the appropriate way to handle it. One thing I will still give the office credit for is their dental hygienists. They have always been excellent, and I have consistently had positive experiences with them. The front desk staff also used to be very warm and welcoming, though in the past few months I have noticed a shift in the overall demeanor and morale of the office. Their website also advertises pediatric care, which makes this interaction even more confusing. After today's experience, I personally would not feel comfortable bringing my child here. Based on how this situation was handled, I would strongly recommend looking into other dental offices if you are searching for dental care.

The model train that zipped around the ceiling was fun to follow and watch; the neat TVs that the children can pick and watch a cartoon or movie is just making adults super jealous that this is not their dentist appointment! My daughter got to use her senses to experience being at the dentist--the kind dental assistant explained all the tools to clean my daughter's teeth and at the end, the dentist came by to check that everything was in order before culminating in my child picking a new Disney-themed toothbrush and a prize out of the prize bin. The staff took extra precautions with covid with having everyone wear masks and even having children sanitize their hands before picking prizes out of the prize bin. It was a very warm and gentle dental experience leaving my daughter feeling secure in going to the dentist and telling me many times on the car ride home: " Mama, I LOVE going to the dentist!" After having to hold my…read moreson down kicking and screaming for prior exams with another pediatric dentist, I made an appointment to see Dr. McKee based on a friend's enthusiastic referral, even though it was distant from our home AND he is out of our insurance network. It was all worth it. I am so glad we went to Dr. McKee. The atmosphere is inviting. The toys in the waiting room are clean and plentiful. There are video games for the older children, puzzles, and an intriguing ball maze that my kids loved. The visit started with toothbrush selection. The hygienist was very patient in explaining all of the instruments to my nervous 6 yr old son, who asked a lot of questions. There was no need to restrain my son because he felt at ease after being reassured by the hygienist; he willingly sat back for the exam and x-rays. I was stunned. The same occurred with my 4 year old daughter who was very apprehensive. She was relaxed and calm. The kids were provided sunglasses with fun characters to shield their eyes from the bright light. They are allowed to select the flavors of toothpaste and fluoride and receive a sticker and a token which is redeemed for a small toy from a vending machine in the waiting room. Dr. McKee was patient and very friendly. My son later told me that the best part of his day was going to the dentist. I enthusiastically recommend Dr. McKee and his staff without hesitation.
