My friends and I wanted to get pampered so we booked a trip to Spa Aphrodite. I am not usually consistent with wellness services unless it's an occasional visit, so I always book a massage because I know my body could use it! The girls were all ready for us since we were the first customers. They had us in as soon as we arrived and I had the pleasure of Rita for my massage! She did ask throughout if I felt any pain and if anything was too much which I did appreciate. It hurt, but hurt good! Their style of massage is a Thai massage, and I was unaware they will step on your back. I did feel a little cold, especially since it was a rainy day. I wish a little more heat in the room besides the hot stones could help because my muscles were super stiff. The service was excellent though and all the ladies were so kind. The massage alleviated most of my soreness from a prior workout and it was a relaxing start of the day. They offer monthly specials too, so I hope I can come back in the future. read more

Siri is A-MAZING! My goal when getting a massage is to relieve tightness/tension/pain caused by workouts, so I usually book a deep-tissue massage. It is clear that Siri knows her craft and tailors each massage therapy session to address what's currently going on in my body. After the session, she shares what she observed (e.g., your lower back is especially tight on the left side), which is really helpful given that sometimes where we are feeling pain is not necessarily where the issue is. It was so easy to make an appointment online I almost called to make sure it was confirmed! I got there early and she took me right away. I went for a Mother's Day special which was for 90 minute and included massage, hot stones, and sugar foot scrub. She never introduced herself so I did not know the receptionist would also be my masseuse until she locked us in (since I'm assuming no one else was there although they advertise walk ins welcome which would make me hesitant to go without an appointment). The masseuse also never asked me if there was any certain area I would look for her to focus on or avoid (which I had). My masseuse asked if I would like medium or deep pressure and I did say I prefer deep but I did not realize that that would mean she would be standing on my back. She did leave at one point in the middle of the massage (without a word) and did speak to someone else who must have shown up though. It felt like circulation was cut off to my limbs a few times and I couldn't breath others. It was uncomfortably painful and all I could wonder is if she was trained to know which parts of my spine and organs she needs to avoid to avoid permanent damage. The hot stones were nice. The sugar scrub on the feet lasted about 60 seconds total for both feet and was a total joke. The appt ended after 85 minutes. I will not be returning. read more

I loved the entire experience from start to finish. The place is really clean and smells so good. The staff was friendly and helpful. My masseuse was fantastic. I especially loved the hot stones. I went in and saw the prices and expected great service and a wonderful massage. The place is bright, clean, and smells great. Ten minutes into the massage, they pull a switched and I had a different person. I asked what happen to the 1st person and 2nd person did not reply. I asked again and she answered she had someone else waiting. To me this is unprofessional because the second person did not address my calves/thighs nor did she say hi or explain what is going on. She was attentive and careful with my injury on my right ankle and had great strong pressure on everywhere else, just how I like it. I asked for particular attention on my neck and shoulder and she delivered. When I felt cold in the middle of the massage, I asked for an extra towel and she happily got one. As for the massage parlour itself, the reception ladies are so nice and friendly. I also love that you have the easy online booking system - makes it easier to make an appointment even on the same day. I had an amazing experience - this opened up right by me in Clairemont and I'm so glad I booked an appointment here. Rita did a wonderful job. I had a massage, cupping, LED facial and did the sauna and I feel so rejuvenated/relaxed. Walking on the back isn't something I had experienced before during a massage - but there was a sheet in between and it relieved a lot of pressure/tension in my back. Will be coming back. It's in a very unassuming strip mall but inside is clean and nice and staff was super friendly. I went in for an infrared sauna at a great deal. I had only been to one location before for infrared so I wasn't 100% sure on their procedure but it was the same as the other place.
