My five stars goes to the senior stylist Ric. I am very particular my hair because I do not like messing with it. It gets the brush at the start of the day and a wash a few times a week. Anything more and I forget about it. The cut must be just so or my hair betrays my lazy ways. See my profile for photos. Before Ric I had been with the same Aveda stylist for 15 years. Then I moved across country. I dreaded the process of finding a new salon. It had not been going well. Then I got a cut last summer best described as Sensible Mom Mullet. It was cute for a few days. Then it stopped being cute. I was despondent. It seemed as if Sensible Mom Mullet would never grow out. No stylist seemed to understand my hair. No one could cut it the way my old stylist had. Then I met Ric! He coaxed my hair into a look I could live with while waiting for the end of the Sensible Mom Mullet. I even got color for the first time, confident that he had concealed all traces of Mullet. I have really come to recognize the extent of his skills. Between January and June I followed faithfully my "do nothing" regimen. Even as my hair grew out it still looked great, as if I had just left the salon. Ric's technique is so precise and full of imagination that my hair grew back into its old style. By imagination, I mean that Ric anticipated how it would look and cut accordingly. That is the mark of true talent, for he did it without really knowing what I looked like pre-Mullet. I could not be happier. If you have wavy hair or want something particular, see Ric. He must certainly be one of the best stylists in the city. --- Glancing at the reviews down the side here on Yelp, I disagree with the criticisms of the service at this salon. I have been to several Aveda salons since I returned to the states 15 years ago (on the East Coast and in Texas). The service at Ashley Ridge is in line with any Aveda salon. In fact, it is in line with any high-volume salon. Aveda to me signifies quality of the products and the skill of the stylists. I am not a pampered princess who goes to the spa weekly for maintenance. I an just an average middle class lady who enjoys being treated to a luxurious experience. I use Spa Concepts for my pedicures and manicures. I am always greeted with a smile and feel welcome. There is not another place in town to get a better pedicure. The technicians take their time and work their magic in a professional manner. I get a gel manicure which takes a bit more time than a regular manicure and I have never felt rushed or hurried. Both these services last and are well worth the money spent. I am fairly conservative when it comes to money and if I didn't think I was receiving the best possible treatment I would not continue to be a repeat customer. Over the top service!! read more

Lynn is fantastic for nails! I live in California and had given up on having nice nails. They are brittle and weak to begin with. Every time I tried gels or dips, they didn't last more than a week, and only damaged my nails further. I came to Spa Concepts on a recent trip and was lucky enough to get Lynn. She did a beautiful job, my nails grew for the first time in years, and the manicure lasted longer than three weeks! I'm thrilled and have already returned to see her again. She's absolutely worth the visit! Highly recommend. read more

Spa Concepts is a great salon in the Shreveport area. I love that it is an Aveda salon and they sell and use Aveda products. I have used the esthetician services for many years, including facials and waxing. I have also gotten several pedicures and massages there and used the hair salon. Both the Ashley Ridge & Bellemeade stores are very nice and conveniently located. Text appointment reminders are very convenient. Overall I am very satisfied with this salon and plan to be a customer forever! read more

I just had Vomor hair extensions put in by Amanda! I am still learning how to work with them, so far so good! I could spend all day at this spa. You are treated so special! It's not just you and your stylist excited, it's everyone! I want to try a facial next. It's good to pamper yourself sometimes!!! Sheena was able to get done in one deep tissue massage that I couldn't get done with numerous chiropractic visits. After a horse fall accident and being sick, I had so much tension a stress that had accumulated in my shoulders and neck. I will definitely be back to see Ms Sheena for sure. Plus the salon is so relaxing and smells absolutely heavenly. The staff is so caring and friendly. They go out of their way for your satisfaction. A very nice way to pamper yourself. read more

I visited Spa Concepts for micro blading with Jonpaule. I must say he is absolutely amazing! Not only did he flex his skills with my eyebrows, but his customer service skills are on point! He was extremely professional and courteous. He explained the procedure in detail and put me at ease. He is very meticulous and his attention to detail is exactly what it takes in his profession! 10/10 would recommend him to anybody seeking permanent makeup:)) read more

Always enjoy Nam doing my nails, I come to Aveda Spa because of him. He always makes it a nice treat for my daughters and I and makes us feel special. He's good at what he does and a very nice person. Also would like to comment about Krista at the front desk who always greets me by name when I come in and makes everyone feel welcomed. I got a derma plane with Tiffany and she did a great job. She asked me a lot of questions to determine my skin type and needs, and she was very sweet and accommodating. This was my first time at this location and the location itself is not very appealing on the inside, but I was received good customer care so I didn't mind as much. I love Spa Concepts...they offer a range of high quality products and all the staff there make you feel right at home. My stylist, Eddie, did a fabulous job on my hair. Great experience with Jon Paule. Had eye brows & eyeliner done with absolutely fantastic results. At my age it is extremely hard to apply eyeliner. To have it permanently in place is a wonderful time saver as well as a beautiful look. Great experience as always! I have been coming here for years to get my brows waxed and love it. I had Mary this time doing my brows and she was fantastic. She was constantly making sure that everything she was doing was okay and I really appreciated that.
