WOW I never expected this tiny hidden gem to be so good!!!! I never expect much from Inland empire restaurants but this place is LA level! They have their menu AND daily specials which are really unique! Sometimes they even have sashimi as a special which is really delicious. Their food is amazing and freshly made, but the highlight of my experience at spaggis is the owner/waiter who gives you a great 5 minute talk and welcome to the restaurant by talking about their daily menu specials. The first time our table was welcomed by the owner, we were a little shocked because we've never had an experience like the owner gives you. Yikes what a TERRIBLE food experience here. Totally ruined our date night. No complaints about service, but super disappointed in every single food item we ordered. We started with the Wagyu Beef Truffle Ravioli for appetizer. First of all, I don't know why you'd take such beautiful Wagyu Beef and smush it into a crispy ravioli. Second of all you could not even remotely taste the truffle. That kind of beef should be showcased, not hidden. For entree I ordered the Lobster Ravioli which was wayyyy too creamy. It was so heavy that I could barely even eat one. I know the sauce they were trying to make but they really missed the mark. My husband ordered the Rigatoni which was candy level sweet. Neither of us touched our dishes. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Soufflé which we told our server ahead of time assuming it takes time to prepare. She said it doesn't take long at all. She was right, because that was nothing like soufflé. Soufflé should be light and airy, this was more like chocolate lava cake, thick and dense. We should have taken it as a warning when the place was totally empty on a Saturday night. Needless to say we won't be back!! read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the local restaurant. I would have to say the location is not the greatest - nothing wrong with the area, just that it's in a strip mall. You dont expect a nice restaurant to be located in one. It was nice inside, the servers were wonderful and the hostess helped us to a nearby table since we were with someone not very ambulatory. I just left from my wonderful dinner at Spaggi's and I wish that I had taken some pictures. My food was savory and divine....as usual. My husband and I ordered two appetizers, the sashimi tuna ahi and cheese tomato tart. I died and went to heaven it was so good. I absolutely loved the tart. I love flakey food so this made my day. The warm cheesy cream sauce melted my heart and my belly. It was sooooo tasty. I ordered my usual...I'm a creature of habit. There Chilean sea bass is juicy, tender and falls apart when you put your fork into it. I love it! Yum. My husband got the leg of lamb. It was excellent and flavorful. I got my usual bottle of Cabernet, Domaine from Napa Vally and it pairs well well with the sea bass and leg of lamb. Spaggi's in Upland is a family owned restaurant and is one of the best little places in the city. The food is impeccable and the service is second to none. They pride themselves on being family oriented and don't overcharge their customers even in this hyper inflated time. This place is fantastic! I came here for a tasting due to my upcoming wedding. Unfortunately they dont offer a tasting menu so we had to get full courses. We ended up getting the lobster ravioli, chicken with spinach and prosciutto and the salmon dish. They were all fantastic! The ravioli being my husbands and I's favorite then the salmon and lastly the chicken. But I have never experienced an establishment that was so on point in execution! We have been here four times, three during or immediately after Covid. Our first visit was so amazing. Great food and service-one of my favorite wines too. Tonight we felt disappointed with the whole experience. The wedge salad wasn't very good. It was overdressed and on top of the dressing they poured a lot of balsamic-too much. I ordered the chicken with asparagus and artichokes but I dont like artichokes so asked them to leave them off. Also, I told the waiter that I couldn't have dairy and when the meal came, it had artichokes and mashed potatoes. He took the dish back, removed the artichokes and mashed potatoes but didn't substitute anything in the place. Very few small pieces of asparagus and the sauce was very salty, kind of like a bouillon flavor. The frutti de mare didn't have enough spices, tasted on the sweet side and wasn't overwhelming -for the price we expected more. We felt so sad because it wasn't what it used to be. We enjoyed our wine, although they no longer carry the wine I love and the service was fine. Just were hoping for more read more

This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in the area. The food is delicious and quite reasonably priced relative to the excellent quality. There are a diversity of offerings on the menu and always a wide range of daily specialities to choose from. I spend a fair amount of time adventuring to restaurants throughout LA, and I think this is the rare case of a fantastic restaurant here in the 909. The atmosphere is pleasant and the servers, chefs, and managers are a delight to talk with. Spaggi's a real treat. read more

We spent our 37th anniversary here. First time we have ever been. Our waiter Zach gave us the best service. Everything we had from the Beet salad and the wedding soup had great flavors. The beef Wellington I had was delicious. My husband had the surf & turf which he said was very good. We ended our meal with Pineapple upside cake. That was so delicious. One of the best. It sounds kind of weird, but you can feel and taste the love and passion the chef has for his art. I see rants about poor service, but honestly I've only ever experienced top notch service. Sure they may get busy, but that gives me more time to socialize or have a romantic moment, all the while building my appetite and sating it with chefs perfect creations. I normally don't eat spaghetti at restaurants as they are typically disappointing. At Spaggis, it's another story altogether. After my 5th time or so dining here, I finally tried the spaghetti and it's quickly become my go to dish, especially when I bring the kiddos. Salads have always been on point. Always fresh and crispy. Tastes like they picked the veggies fresh from the garden that day every time. Chilean sea bass - honestly don't care too much about fish. But I ventured on my birthday and was pleasantly surprised. Literally cleaned my plate clean. Beef Wellington - never tried until here. After researching online a bit it's not an easy dish. They know what they're doing here. Lasagna - don't even get me started. It's got that perfect amount of crunch and softness. Perfect proportions of noodle to meats to sauce and cheese. We had not been to Spaggi's in a long time and wanted to stop in and have a nice meal with friends. Due to the current situation, Spaggi's is not open for lunch and only open for dinner Thursday - Sundays. We placed our reservations for a Saturday evening and once again enjoyed a terrific meal with great service and a wonderful atmosphere. We started with an appetizer of Calamari Fritti which as done very well and a bottle of wine from Kunde Estate. I ordered one of their specials the breaded Swai on a bed of lobster filled ravioli with a Champagne lemon sauce. Swai is a bit of an odd fish and does not always come out right, but Spaggi's nailed it. It was absolutely delicious! My wife ordered the Pollo Con Marsala which she said was delicious as well. Our friends also really enjoyed the Cioppino; Crab meat, scallops, shrimp, calamari , mussels and a selection of fresh fish in light tangy saffron tomato broth with white wine and the Penne Dalle Vigne De Fillippi as well. For desert, each couple ordered a Chocolate Spaggi's Torte as a very rich and delicious way to end the evening. Wow! Took my wife here for date night. It was our first time dining there. The food and service were amazing. The restaurant doesn't match the shopping center it's located in. The view of the local Del Taco definitely did not add to the romance. My once complaint was that shortly after arriving home, I was received an email that they'd marked me as a "no show" for our reservation. I've replied to the email to dispute it and called Spaggi's to correct it so that I don't have issues with Open Table later. However, we will definitely return. read more

Not just in his ability to prepare a culinary experience like non other in the Inland Empire, but also his heart to serve and give back with his success to his community by participating in various charitable organizations we have been blessed to take part in. We arrived at Spaggi's at the time of our reservation and were quickly ushered to a quiet table that we had requested. I took the liberty of ordering our meals ahead of time so that the evening would flow smoothly. Every plate was better than the last, expertly presented and delicately seasoned. The last plate was quite a surprise to my date, it was an engagement ring and she said yes! Such a disappointment. We really like Spaggi's, but they no longer serve Beef Wellington. That dish is one of my favorites as they fixed it perfectly. Sounds probably terrible to say, but not sure if we will be back. Service was nice, but clumsy. Place has a strange vibe like it's fine dining in the middle of nowhere. But it doesn't hit that level at all. It's okay. Definitely over hyped. Sugary sauces and the protein products aren't on par with the swag presented. All of our greens were prepared over or under cooked. Although, as soon as you enter, you feel transported to a posh, polished high-end restaurant. Spaggi's sets a relaxed, refined ambiance that helps setting the tone for you to celebrate your meal. BRAVO The staff are very friendly and k ow the menu very well to include meal ingredients... very important for people with unique dietary restrictions. The food,... i once had a friend say that the Inland Empire was a culinary desert... if this is true (which it's not), Spaggi's would be an oasis...the food can easily compete with any restaurant in the Southern California area. Great food... at a descent price. Overall, Spaggi's is an amazing restaurant. My wife and I fine dine all over Southern California and Vegas. We experience all types of foods. We are fair in our critique and give credit where it is due- from hostess to desert. The service at Spaggis was at best ok. Our server seemed inconvenienced. His yellowish white shirt was hard to ignore. He should've retired it years ago. A little rough on explaining the specials. Maybe if he wasn't so fixated on my wife's breasts he could've gotten through it without correcting himself several times. Didn't like the fact that my wife and I had to swat at flies that were swarming around our table. We were seated by the window where there were several. So we dealt with that the whole time. Server and bus person had to have noticed. No help from them. They had a big party going, and it showed that we were not a priority. Food was OK (beeing nice). My wife ordered the fish, which was a special. It looked like a long hash brown and was flavorless. I ordered the Osso Buco and it was dry. I have ordered this dish several times at places not far from Spaggi's. Always been a must-order dish for me. This one was not good. Awful. After a while another server noticed that we were not being tended to and jumped in to help. So that was much appreciated. She was actually sweet. But by then, my wife and I already decided after this bad experience we would not be returning. For both of us our bill was $275. read more

Went to Spaggi's for a Valentine's Day dinner with my wife and had an incredible experience! The Chef was very gracious and created a great ambiance and vibe at Spaggi's. The Chilean Sea Bass was soft and buttery and veggies were fresh. My wife had the Petto di Pollo Al Doro and enjoyed every bite. Came here for dinner the other night got to sit out in the patio very nice very quiet. Feel bad that they can't be open Monday through Sunday due to the pandemic they lost a lot of help. So now they are only open Thursday through Sunday. So anybody out there that has gourmet experience as a waiter and needs a job! The owners are very nice and they do catering as well. I got salmon it was good a little bit too much pepper on it . There raspberry salad was always amazing. Their bread and their dip. Couldn't get enough of it. Someone had said that inside the restaurant was reserved for reservations only and that walk ins would be outside in the patio, but when we came in and said we don't have a reservation, we were seated inside at a table within 10 minutes. Thank you guys for keeping us out of the cold I ordered the penne dalle vigne difilippe and my mom ordered the lasagna. The penne was delicious and creamy, but the sauce seemed a little runny in my opinion. I was going to ask for more Parmesan cheese so I can thicken the sauce, but I finished my plate before anybody came to check up on us. I also got a tasty mango martini which was so smooth and delicious as well. Service was excellent and the waitresses and waiters were very attentive to our table as well as all the others. read more
