My first time there, so give me a break, hey I only wanted petrol (well chocolate too) and had been told it was 'right around the back'. Ok, I understnd that instruction. But it evaporates when, as a newcomer, you enter the entrance of the car park. Where the heck is the back? I'd missed the sign of course, so I tootled round and about, and saw a chap in a reflector jacket, I asked him the way. He made sense, was insructive and clear, until I got to the corner he told me about. Hmmm, what's the worst that could happen? I kept going and finally actually saw a sign, just as I clocked the petrol station. The staff were very friendly indeed, and amused at the quantity of chocolate I bought. Alas, I still need to sponge my skirt as most of it melted on my lap.

My problem is always (and wherever I am) not being able to find my car when I finish shopping! Not funny when it's a freezing winter's night and one is having a youthful incontinence moment!!!!! The selection of fresh fruit and veg, fish and meat (everything really) in Tescos is brilliant and it is very hard to drag me away from the chocolate aisle! I am a Cadburys Dairty Milkaholic and it has to be the largest possible bar available! I get severe withdrawal symptoms when I detox ocassionally due to the jeans waiste tightening feeling!!! When going through one of these periods I linger for many minutes at a time just looking at the chocolate on the shelf and willing myself not to put any in my trolley!!! A couple of weeks of this and the cravings disappear! I can spend hours in Tesco just looking, wishing to buy and thinking can I or can I not afford (clothes, books, shoes, bags, electrical goods, toys, games, kitchen ware, paint, DIY, the lot)! You name it Tesco has it! It's clean and staff are helpful plus usually share a joke with you, which always makes a day feel even better! I also have 2 lovely large cloth green bags but unfortunately I keep leaving them at home or, when I put them in the boot of my car I forget to take them out before going into the store! Is this an age things I wonder! Probably more honest to say I've always been a bit of an eejit!!! I do love you Tesco! Thumbs up!

Always clean and always busy but plenty of staff so no long wait at the check-out. Interesting architecture, a previous review suggested that it used to be a railway station - Nope! It was the Kayser Bondor until the 1980's when it was bought by Tesco. Kayser Bondor made ladies stockings - but switched to making parachutes during World War II. Wish that we had selection like this in the USA!!!!

As it is an Extra, it stocks everything from TV's to toothpaste, so everything you need is under one roof. The car park is large (and needs to be as it does get busy), and the store also contains a petrol garage.

I've been to a great many Tesco locations, most are similar to this one. The layouts vary widely between each location, beware of this. The vegetables are usually pretty bruised, if you want nicer vegetables you should search out an independent vendor. This is a 2/5 because it compares poorly with other supermarkets, but for a tesco it's not bad.

We spent close to three hours in this Tesco. Luckily I was slightly buzzed from just leaving the pub so I didn't mind. They had quite a number of goods on clearance, pretty much it's a wild card. The sale section is towards the back where the toys and workout supplements are located. A lot of school supplies on sale. I was impressed at their music selection and that I could buy a three disc Ministry of Sound dance CD for £6. They have quite a large school supply section. Pretty much this Tesco carries just about everything. The prices I noticed were £0.30-£1.00 higher then my normal Tesco Store so I was shy about grocery shopping. I guess the bigger the store, they figured lets raise the price too. That is one thing I really didn't like were the higher prices. The bathrooms on the other hand stink to high heaven. I could smell them by Costa. If I were you Tesco I would invest in air freshener. You sell it, why can't you use it? Pretty much I rate this three hour shopping experience a solid three. Just a tip if you get your car washed while you shop take your valuables and your lighters with you. My friend spent £15 on her car wash and they guys 'picked up' three of her lighters, she was not pleased.

It's just off the busy A14, and is the biggest Tesco Extra I've seen - and they keep making it bigger! The latest addition is the second floor, which houses a (nearly) hmv sized entertainment section, a huge electricals dept, a large range of clothing, and a cafe. Then the downstairs is the biggest food store you've ever seen. A massive car park never seems to fill up, despite also being used by a small arcade of shops built into the side of the Tesco store. I love this place!
