Unlike other convenience stores, price wise this place is on point and doesn't bump an extra couple of euros per item for the sake. So my shout out to this place and 4 stars comes down to their great healthy food options and their range of allergy friendly products. They have a large section dedicated to organic and gluten free products so whether it's condiments, alternative milks, flours, whole grain products, you name it they got it... And ye know what, nothing says boring when you see the selection of great biscuits, cakes all available allergy friendly and some great local producers stocked too As a late night shop and just a stones from my place, I'm a regular here fixing up my last few ingredients like fresh vegetables for dinner, last minute bottle of wine or you'll see from my pictures... This place has quite a range of baking products so this makes me happy when I last minute decide to bake some cupcakes :-) Dropped a star because were a small village here in Dalkey, their staff could do with turning on a little customer service charm and smiling at their neighbours.

Whoever is doing the stock orders very obviously doesn't cook because a lot of basics are missing. The whole layout of the supermarket is very odd. It's also not very clean and often products are beyond their sell by date. I am a Dalkey resident and have given up shopping here. It's a shame!!

Take your time browsing the online supermarket and then pick your delivery time. The delivery service charge fluctuates anywhere between 3 and 6 euro - not bad! And, your groceries can be delivered within a day and down to a two-hour window of time. Everything is at your fingertips - from exfoliating facial scrubs to a jar of jalapenos. You'll find stuff that can't be bought at your corner convenience store. Lose the shopping cart! Let your fingers do the walking and put your money where your mouth is ... until delivery time!

Tesco Online--Personal Experience:…read more Once you've registered, the online store is very easy to use. Products have clear (if occasionally optimistic) pictures and good info. Discounts/multibuys etc are marked. Product categories are well organized and the site is easy to navigate. There are a good range of delivery times and prices. Off peak times are a LOT cheaper. I've found deliveries to be on time about 7 out of 10 times. What is annoying is that a delivery can be up to an hour late without any contact from the store (in fact, if you check the order number on the website, it reads 'delivered' even though it hasn't been). That said, if you call their helpline about a late order, they are very good about getting in touch with the driver and letting you know what happened/how long it will be. If they're out of a product, they'll substitute another (you get the cheaper price if the substituted item was more expensive). Mostly, the substitutions are spot on, but you can opt for 'no substitutions' on an item if you are leery (I do this on pet food as they tend to get substitutions wrong...no my kitten does not think that 'adult tuna' food is as good as 'baby cat chicken'...and in all fairness, Tesco aren't psychic so 'no substitutions' it is). The delivery drivers are an odd bunch. They're all really helpful if you have questions and very good about carrying deliveries indoors etc. Some are sociable, say 'hello', smile and have a quick chat. Others grunt once and get the job over with. Occasionally one stares at you with a look that says "I hate you for buying bulk cat litter but I'm not allowed to say it". I prefer the friendly ones, it's a little weird to have someone in your home who doesn't even say hello, just marches in the door and past you. Overall, it's an excellent service. I used it once and was sold. Now I use it every couple of weeks for bulky/heavy items or a big shop. Definitely worth a try.

Okay I was in the local secondary school and crisp sandwiches were really popular in those times, I remember some girls even using their bus fare too get this lovely lunch. I suppose you would need to walk home and get the exercise if you ate that many crisp sandwiches! Anyway, Lynam's is the local newsagent/ convenience store for the local school and the locals around Lower Goatstown. It has all the usual things a newsagent has but this one is special because it also has a post office! Yes, that's right this shop has that very Irish multifunction thing going on and very handy it is too!

There was roasted butternut squash, feta and caramelised onion on it. Their breakfast pizza was pretty impressive too. If Lynams keep on this track, they'll be the Mortons or Donnybrook Fair of Goatstown. The shop also doubles as a post office which is always a bonus. We went away with a nice Chablis and Fleurie, both of which were lovely wines. The area is lucky to have Lynams, it's not your average newsagent.
