Mario's Romanian Brezel (Pretzel) Shop is a perfect place to enjoy some Romanian street food. And why not try the classic pretzel or Brezel or as I know it - 'the Covrig'. These are real Covrigi like you would find in Bucharesti or Braov. I love the poppy seed (mohn) topping. This little store is only minutes from the Krems main train and bus stations and right off of the pedestrian Landstraße. I wish Vienna had a Romanian Covrigi shop!

The highlight is, of course, the coffee! The owner of this coffee shop would present you with passion the different types of coffee she has and gives you great advice to facilitate your choice. She speaks fluently in English so the communication was really smooth! Upon her suggestion, I tried the best coffee of my Europe trip here! The brunch was also marvellous and beautifully presented. Don't let that stop you though, as the pastries were absolutely delicious! We wanted something with apricot (as that is the regional specialty) even though we didn't know how to say it in german. Luckily it was easy to guess which items had the ingredient just by looking at the colors of the ingredients. Definitely stop here for a treat when you are in the Wachau valley.
