When they are actually open I've always had an exceptional experience, only reason I'm not leaving 5 stars is because I've ordered parts from them before and they have had them shipped to the store for me to pick up, it's a guessing game if the store will be open, their online hours say they are open 7 days a week, that is completely false, I wouldn't have a problem if their listed hours were accurate but they aren't, and it's a guessing game to say the least. I've tried going to the store on Sundays and Mondays, multiple weeks they have been closed not just single occasions, you would expect the owner or manager to at least update their hours online, I've wasted a lot of time and gas driving across town to this store just to find out they are closed when they have it listed that they are open online, also they don't return your phone calls when you leave messages after calling the store, would strongly recommend going to a more professional and reliable place, there are plenty of gun stores around Reno that have more reliable hours and communication, also if you look at other negative reviews about this place whoever is in charge of their page seems hostile when replying to people, would not recommend read more

I purchased a barrel for Sig Sauer P320 3.9" on Black Rifle website. The webpage did not offer a product description on the barrel. The image representing the product on the website showed the barrel did not feature an 'LCI' (Loaded Chamber Indicator). What I received was a barrel WITH LCI cut. I contacted Black Rifle via email next day regarding a return with no response. I contacted 2 days later via phone call and was told they would not accept a cash refund and will only accept a return for store credit. I am reluctant to place any additional orders with Black Rifle in any future purchases as I have no confidence that accurate product representation will be consistent. This is my first experience purchasing with Black Rifle and would not recommend buying product from this company. read more

These guys are professional and they absolutely deserve your business. I recently special ordered a Staccato XC and had it sent to this store. After the standard 3 month lead time on Staccato orders I received a call right around 90 days from the store that my firearm was ready for pickup, so I know they notified me very quickly when it came in. I'm a stay at home dad so I brought my 3 young children in with me, ages 3, 6, and 9. The employees were very welcoming and didn't give me any hint of displeasure with my kiddos being there. They were very patient with me and my children, i got the papers done, and came back a few days later after the back-round check cleared. My next visit I brought my 3 year old with me and it went great again, even with her smudging the case and interrupting every few seconds I was welcomed and treated with the utmost patience and professionalism. I asked for some help deciding on a surprise birthday present for my wife. One of the employees helped me try out a whole selection of firearms from the case and we narrowed it down to one that I know will work perfect for the wifey. Then I was so buttered up from the service I decided to also buy a Staccato C2. Unfortunately I don't recall getting any of their names so I can't mention them here. 10/10 read more

I've always enjoyed this store. Employees were friendly, the owner is nice, shop usually has a great selection... I always wanted to buy a firearm from this establishment. Till the other day when I came in, the heavier set employee I talked with just really gave me short snarky type answers, like it was inconvenient to make a sell, and it was really off putting... I finally settled down and it's time to catch up on reviews. This is one of them. Let's start with the store. Clean, organized and well lit. Coffee is available, but no donuts. As a retired public servant, donuts are a must to fuel a good purchase LOL. Inventory. The store seemed to have a decent selection of handguns (pistols and revolvers) as well as rifles and accessories. You can't expect any gun store to carry everything, but I'm sure they have the ability to get what you want. As for the staff. On our first visit, we met Steve. Friendly, informative, conversational and quick humor. I was in the market for an AR. After researching what I wanted from BCM, they had it in stock. The transaction was smooth and enjoyable. Of course, in my house, everything is times two (chicks that love guns and sports rock) a month later we were back. My wife acquired her BCM. Nick handled the transaction. The experience was no different than the first and more like visiting a family members home. That said, if you are serious about a firearm purchase or just want details about a type of firearm, this staff has the patience and time to spend with you. But, don't get disappointed if they are swamped as they can only handle so many people at at time. Hence, may be give them a heads up call and see if they can schedule with you if time will be needed to fulfill your inquiry. To all the women that feel intimidated, rest assured that this staff will not make you feel uncomfortable. They are very educational and very concerned about your firearm selection and what would be best for you depending on your need and use. I had a wonderful experience with SBR yesterday. My husband bought me a Glock 48 for Christmas from SBR and it was absolutely perfect! He had mentioned that they are one of the only retailers that offer a military program from Glocks- a huge plus! They also offered good recommendations on a CCW course. So of course, I had to swing by to pick up some ammo and explore this place that came some highly recommended from my husband. The shop is very well organized, they have A LOT of stuff to choose from. But one of the best things about this place- the staff. They are absolutely amazing. I overheard one gentlemen helping a customer and he was speaking to them as if they were close friends (they had never met before) and were incredibly personable. Each member of the staff was engaged with customers and were respectful, knowledgeable, and helpful. There is none of that over the top ego or condescending vibe that some places have. The plaza is relatively easy to enter. Yellow posts mark the entrance of this shop. We went on a Saturday morning, and it was not packed at all. The shop is cute in size, small but it has what you need. Their website is easy to use and very informative if there are items that are not onsite. The staff welcomes you and are interactive in asking what they can assist you with. We needed 308's and 9mm bullets. He directed us and brought us a box to carry all of our stuff. We also asked about their maintenance service. We had a rifle with a California configuration where you could not take the magazine out. They then told us to bring it in and they would be able to fix it really quickly. About a week later we brought our case in and the next staff member went right to work in taking off this particular pin. He fixed it and asked permission to make any other adjustments where it was needed. He explained everything he was doing. The service charge was $44. All in all it was a good experience!! Definitely my favorite spot to shop. I have bought all my handguns through them because they provide superior customer service, and they always try to give you the best answers and advice. If they don't know the answer they don't hesitate to find out and search for the answer. You walk in and there they are waiting and greeting everyone who comes in. One of the nicest gun shops in Reno. This is the store that most of the law enforcement and military guys go to. They have a good selection of tactical gear and weapons. They are one of the two gun shops in the area that sells blue label pistols. They also have some top notch gunsmiths that I would easily let work on one of my firearms. This store also has some metal targets and stands that I've had my eye on. Highly recommend this store if you're wanting to buy anything in person and not online. read more

If you enjoy shopping at stores with the most atrocious customer service you've ever experienced, this is the store for you! They do not call EVER when your items are ready for pick up (this happened multiple times) and if you're female, they assume you don't know Jack about firearms and are condescending and belittling. I'm a female veteran and get treated liked crap every time I go there. Instead of being helpful and educating people on things such as updating CCWs, they would rather you have to jump through hoops and have extremely long wait times to pick up equipment. Black rifle is definitely my favorite gun store in Reno and sparks. My first time in I was brand new to the firearms game. They helped me pick out my first handgun, gave me recommendations, and told me pros and cons of all the pistols I had asked about. My wife and I have both shopped here, when I shop, employees are polite and I get decent customer service, when she goes here, employees are rude, condescending, never call her to inform her her items are ready for pick up and treat her as if she knows nothing. Great place to shop for guns. Ammo was pretty much non-existent but that is basically everywhere. They had a lot of guns there though, none which any one from CA can buy unfortunately. As far as accessories, they had a lot to shop for. Found that they had a pistol optic that is hard find during these times and had to jump on that. Staff was friendly and no issues with the 2 that were working. Follow them on their social media to get updated faster on what they have. I purchased a rifle part from Sparks Black Rifle after bringing in the firearm into the store to get recommendation for part and verify fitment. I brought the part home to install on rifle and discovered it did not fit the type of rifle I had just brought into store. I called the store was told by an employee that I could not return the part that I purchased due to the fact they had a no return policy regardless if they recommended and stated the part would fit my particular rifle. Their only recommendation was to contact the manufacturer of the purchased part. I was having issues with my handgun and the store associate recommended that I buy a new magazine to troubleshoot the issue. Trusting his advice I spent $50 on a magazine, went home and tested cycling 3 rounds in my handgun. Same issue cycling the rounds. So I came back the next morning to return the magazine and they treated me like absolute dog crap. First they insinuated that I didn't purchase the magazine at their store. Then the sale associate pointed to the small lettering on the receipt that says all sales are final. I made it clear that had I know this, I wouldn't have purchased the magazine in the first place to diagnose an issue on THEIR advice. Needless to say, they lost my business and any recommendation from me for their services to anyone. Terrible service. read more

My original intent was to go to SBR looking to pick up or order a Daniel Defense rifle and also to look for Aero Precision M5 stripped lower, LPK, and an upper to start my LR.308 build (because I have nothing better to do in quarantine). I originally wrote their Instagram page to inquire about M5 parts and was met with a short, 4 word response. I didn't think anything of it and decided to go to the store to look for what I needed or see what I could get in stock during these crazy busy, 2A-loving times. I was met with an hour wait time and a 2 person limit in the store. No problem, as I understand that stores need to keep their employees and consumers safe. But I thought as I waited in line, how awesome it would be if they had a will-call style option where you can order and pay, and pick up your items while skipping the line full of gun buyers (love to see first timers out there!)? I reached out to SBR respectfully on Instagram to inquire about my idea of either increasing consumers in the store or even explore the idea of a will-call pick up option. Boy was that a bad idea. I was met with a tirade of how they run their business how they feel like it and how I am "entitled", yada, yada, yada and their sister store Sacramento Black Rifle so elegantly and professionally stated that I was "an entitled little *****". Whoa, this is not conduct I expect from a small business that thrives from returning customers like me. Needless to say, I went to Scorpious Tactical and Juggernaut Arms where they both were more than happy to help me gather what I was looking for, research parts I needed that they didn't have in stock, and answer questions regarding my LR.308 build. Moving up to the Sparks area from Sacramento, I am familiar with the company. The team that works out of this store are great guys to talk to, even when you are asking a bunch of NFA item questions. I have recently purchased a couple of rifles and a hand gun from them with ease with transaction. I recently got into shooting 3 Gun and the guys are more then happy to talk to me and give tips without being pushy on trying to sell me their firearms or gear. No pressure atmosphere. This is not a huge showroom but the selection is still fairly good. They have the most popular of handguns, maybe not too broad a selection of rifles unless you are looking for an AR or similar. The counter persons are knowledgeable and friendly. They are willing to interject their opinions if asked, but they are not officious in telling you what you should want and berate you if you don't agree. Some other guns stores seem just a bit more opinionated than I prefer. Everyone has a favorite but it doesn't have to be mine. We all shoot for a variety of reasons, and this place seems to respect that. I found the prices to be very competitive with the big box stores, and less on the items of my choice. I shopped several places before returning here to complete my purchase. And I was very happy with the expedient processing of the paperwork. Finally, this establishment is well aware of their female customers. I would certainly include this location for any of my fellow shooters that are female. Highly recommended! read more

First time stopping by and doing business with SBR. Small shop but very clean and they carry some of the best magpul products with a large variety in stock. I was greeted right as a walked in the door and they answered all the questions I had. Didn't crowd over my shoulder trying to sell a product I didn't need like other gun shops I've been to. Called before stopping by the shop, and the staff guaranteed me they had exactly what I was looking for in stock and sure enough they did and made the transaction very smooth and easy. Knowledgeable staff and very well customer-oriented. I live 3 hours away from Sparks Black Rifle and I will be making occasional trips to buy more from them often.
