I found Ted's CHL Class by doing what everyone else does; I Googled it. Ted's Company: Spartan Defense was the first in the results and the only one with a actual customer ratting. l did a lot of research and found that some prices for the Texas Concealed Handgun License, where slightly lower, and some where much higher. So at first i went for the cheaper price and called around. I found that most of the cheaper price guys did not have there range on site and had extra fees that they were trying to hide ie. Range fees and the requirement to buy a meal from the place they taught. Well I ended up going back to Ted. One of my buddies, that was going to sign up with, ended up taking one of the "cheaper classes". I know I made the right decision Ted's class included everything I needed and it was conveniently located at a range. My buddy's unfortunately did not. His class ended up costing him 5 dollars more than mine ,with all the hidden extras, and the instructor provided no support for him as far as how to actually apply with the state. In the end my buddy ended up calling Ted who helped him out for free because he was a friend of mine. Ted's class itself was a real eye opener and entertaining I enjoyed every minute of it. Also the Spartan Defense website is 10 times better than any of the others I looked at. I was able to download the Texas CHL law book from it to my phone and even apply with the state right there online with step by step instructions on the website. None of the other guys offered this. Best in town highly recommended don't take your training with anyone else. Took there Concealed Handgun Class not knowing what to expect other than all the positive reviews i had read online. I was NOT disappointed! Teddy's Class was very entertaining and convenient. i walked out of the class with a whole new understanding of the responsibility of owning and carrying a firearm. Class took place at the cc gun club which is a very nice facility. When i was looking for a Texas CHL class in Corpus there where a number to choose from. There where all kinds of pricing and locations. one guy was even teaching his classes out of a fast food restaurant of course for a slightly cheaper price. All i can say is regardless of whether Teddy's class at Spartan Defense is cheaper or a lil more than the other guys it is money well spent. I would give more stars if i could. read more

This is the last review you need to read. I am a no-nonsense, old school type of guy (and a tight wad). If I'm gonna spend more than forty bucks on ANYTHING, I research it till the cows come home and then research it some more! Bottom line is: If you want a CHL, call Spartan Defense and ask for Teddy. You WON'T get your CHL any cheaper anywhere else, won't get it any quicker anywhere else, won't get it any easier anywhere else PERIOD! This was the best class I have taken. The instructor, Ted, was so informative and answered any and all questions . We learned so much from this class and decided to take a private lesson ..so well worth the time and one on one instruction. My friend and I will recommend Ted as he is the best instructor and knows all the new laws regarding CHL. We all need self-defense and I will continue to take training as needed. Clear, concise, entertaining and most patient with all the questions thrown at instructor. Will recommend Spartan for friends interested in taking the CHL course.
