We looked at every option in the St Cloud area, and it was not fun. Home Depot sent out some other company to give an estimate, and it was well over $10K. I looked into buying my own furnace from Lowe's, and hiring a handyman to hook it up, which would leave us with no warranty and probably a questionable product. Then I found Gilk in Richmond. I emailed them through their website, and received a reply the very next morning. They asked for pictures of my existing furnace, and then gave me a quote via email for both installing a furnace I purchase on my own, but also for installing a good Rheem furnace of theirs that would suit our needs perfectly. They were SO affordable, I was able to go with their Rheem furnace and have them install it, which included a lengthy warranty, too. This was such a huge relief, and they were out the very next morning and had the job all done by noon. They were great to work with, very professional and accommodating. They saved us. From now on, I will tell anyone I know that needs any HVAC work done to at least check with Gilk. I don't think I've ever written a review before, but I had to because this place was so great to us.

The garbage disposal was installed backwards and was not attached correctly to the sink drain, which obviously caused water to leak which ended up going through my floor and ruining the ceiling below. The connections they made to make the disposal fit backwards, were pulled so tight that it also caused a separate leak in the system! Terrible customer service when dealing with management trying to correct the problems they created. The lack of accountability was unbelievable, they even blamed me for the garbage disposal leaking! Very unprofessional overall. Do not recommend them for anything, ever.

This is a family business that won a competitive contract from the county to install safety…read moreequipment like locks, a ceiling mount, and a fence for our special needs child. The son, Grant, was personally involved with everything. He pointed out several safety hazards that would have been missed otherwise, and helped us find locks and doors that met our unusual needs. He also automated their administrative stuff so it was really easy to work with them. The dad, Gary, came over to double check that the workers did everything to his standards, and even made them double reinforce the ceiling mount just in case it got overloaded. I could not be more impressed with their integrity and high standards. Especially with the safety stuff where they could have cut corners and gotten away with it on the county's dime. My tips for dealing with this company: 1. Get quotes from other companies to make sure you are…read moregetting a fair price 2. Don't pay the full amount until they get the job done 3. Constantly follow up with them otherwise you will be forgotten about. Waited patiently 3 months for them to complete a job (got part of it done, made mistake of paying before it was done. My bad wont happen again) Also will not use in future. Did good when they got a job done. Don't also normally leave bad reviews but I gave them ample chance to fix this and didn't seem to really take me seriously. I had contractors come in at a lower price that would do compareable work. They tried to give me the song and dance that virtual no one does as good of work as they do, and I hate to break it to you but that simply is not true. You need to keep your prices competitive, especially in a market where people talk. The second time I used them ( first go around got an awesome deal on roof and gutters) they were asking 3,000 more than anyone else. I promptly told them that I decided that I am going to go with someone more affordable after getting better quotes and they came down "by using rebates", but still $600 more then my highest bidder saying that the other guys basically didn't know how to add up supplies and they were the only ones that could get it done in 2 days ( also not true). They promised to do the shed (never happened, should have been done then now they are telling me they can't because might be frozen to ground, had some beautiful days this week shed would not be frozen to ground, no call. I am now going to have to have my husband and step dad do it even though I feel I paid extra since it was in fact written the contract even though now they are saying they were doing me a favor). I contacted them this weekend simply asking when they were going to do this (3 months later) and basically was told to go lie by my dish. welp that was a mistake to tell your customer who has let you do not one but 2 roofs. Only giving 3 stars because I think they did a good job...when they did the job. Honestly, first don't use your personal cell phone as your work phone. I sent a text because I was not expecting an answer right away and you dont answer email well. I just needed to know when you could complete the job. Now you lost a customer because of poor customer service. Really too bad.

Initially, I contracted with Tom and his company to install gutters on my house; however, at about…read morethe same time my gutters were being installed my new roof started leaking. Of course, the guy who installed the roof denied any fault and then blamed me for picking a tar-based flat-top roof as opposed to the rubber roof that he insisted on....trouble is...he never recommended the rubber roof and didn't return any of my calls after that...buckets were collecting spring rain in my attic. If you want his name just let me know....anyways....Tom came out right away looked at my roof and instantly knew that the flat-top was installed incorrectly. He was able to show me how my original contractor installed it on a completely flat service and that the installation instructions state that it needs to be installed at a small slant. Tom informed me if he simply used a piece of ply board to create a small slant there would not be any water sitting on top of my roof working its way slowly into the house. Tom made my roof a priority and had his crew fix it immediately. He gave me a good deal based on me being a previous customer and probably because he knew I was bitter about the whole thing and needed a smile. I have nothing but praise for this company. I feel a bit guilty about not writing this review sooner. It's been a few years since he fixed my roof and installed my gutters. Both are working great. If you want a job done right, these are the guys to call.

Gary came out, thought he had it taken care of only to learn soon after, no, it needed something else. So came back a few weeks later and totally took care of the issue and was very generous in not charging for that extra trip. They are a good team. I highly recommend.
