I started doing martial arts informally at 17 but this was my first actual gym. The teacher, Mr. Dejardin, is nice, firm and an experienced teacher which is everything you can ask for in a sensei. There was not much of an adult program when I joined but throughout the years it grew and they have experienced fighters who are kind and disciplined. I am lucky to call them my friends and to have trained with them for years. Unfortunately I had to quit because I was living at MU those years and after graduation my career and distance forced me to quit. I trained in taekwon do and muay thai when I was attending and found both challenging and fun. My biggest regret was not training harder. The children's program is a great program, I've seen children rise through the ranks and become well rounded and better behaved because of this and I would recommend this school if that's what you are looking for. Mr Dejardin can get a little strict with the kids but it's nothing to be concerned about and he does it in a mature and respectful manner. Sometimes kids need a little firmness to help them mature. Overall this school helped me physically, mentally and spiritually throughout my college career and I am truly grateful for that

Vic (the owner) always keep the workouts fresh and has never repeated one yet (I've been going about 6 months now). I couldn't do (or even know) a Y sit up, let alone with a weight and after a few months I've been belting them out with a 10+ lbs kettle bell. I don't take any of the boxing or MMA classes but they seem to have a loyal following and the price for membership was much cheaper then other facilities I had looked into. He does a great job instructing the kids, but also teaching them life values and respect. My wife and I are so happy we have signed the kids up and look forward to continuing. They even have Parent Survival Nights every month or so. This allows kids, regardless of being students, to attend a fun night of activities, games, and overall fun stuff.
