CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! This is a lengthy review, but its worth reading to save yourself a headache! So I paid $3300+ custom lit signage made by these guys. They (installer name was Mauricio) installed the signage and they said that I didn't have a timer for the sign. So I authorized them to install a timer. Fast forward couple weeks later, I drove by my shop and the sign isn't even lit up on the time they said they set it on (6:30pm-1am) So I called them to take a look at it the 1st time around, and they said that everything working properly, and Hong (owner) had left and told me that it was a waste of their time because everything is working. So, I don't know whats going on. When I stayed during those times, it wasn't working. But they said it was. So I went back 2nd time around, and it wasn't on. I called Hong again and told him/sent him a picture that it wasn't on. He tried to tell me, its lit up but its so bright outside you can't see it (this is at 8pm!) I'm not blind, I can see if its lit or not. So he/his crew went back the 2nd time and told me its working again! WHEN ITS NOT! Fast forward few more weeks, the sign isn't working. The 3rd time they sent someone out, they (Jimmy) said it was the transformer. Okay, so fix it. But they didn't fix it. Fast forward a few more weeks, for the 4th time they came out, and now they said it was a "loose" wire and the transformer is working properly and that it was my landlords fault! Serious? Its their job to check everything before installation and also make sure its working after installation. They kept giving me different reasons why it wasn't working, but obviously they don't know what the hell they are doing. So they finally "fixed it" and they had the nerve to say "usually I charge, but I'll do it for free". Serious?? YOU BETTER DO IT FOR FREE! I didn't pay over $3300 for a sign that doesn't work. Oh wait, after that, it still wasn't working properly. After further investigation, they found out that there WAS ALREADY A TIMER INSTALLED. So the two timers were messing with each other (it was never a "loose wire" or bad transformer). But in the beginning, they told me I don't have one and that I need one. BS! They just wanted to make an extra $300 Then they (Hong and Jimmy) told me, "Oh your old timer is broken". How do you even prove that since your installation guys didn't even check in the 1st place to see if I even had a timer hooked up at all. If they are going to assume that, I would assume that the old timer was working. Then he said, I'll refund you, but I'm going to take out the timer (newer one that they installed) but your sign won't work. They are skipping a few steps here IMO. I asked them to check to see if our timer works in the first place, which they didn't, and assumed it's broken. EDWIN, who was sent out the 4th time to fix everything was nice and he tested the OLD TIMER AND IT WAS IN FACT WORKING!! But he had bypassed that because he said it was in an illegal location, but the point is... I HAD AN OLD TIMER.. and IN FACT IT WAS WORKING! So these guys can't even get their stories straight! These SHOULD HAVE BEEN the steps in their process, but wasn't. 1) Before installation, check ALL connectivity. 2) Check for timer since there was a previous old signage. 3) Install sign 4) Make sure sign works They skipped steps 1, 2 and 4. After all this, they had the nerve to tell me they don't want to do business with me again! (IT SHOULD BE THE OPPOSITE WAY AROUND, I don't want to do business with Special Signs again) So I guess that means that they won't come out for any repairs within a reasonable amount of time, I would at least expect 1 year warranty, but with these guys giving me the run around after 2 months after installation, I doubt they stand behind their work. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. THERE ARE MORE COMPETENT SHOPS OUT THERE. Might cost a few hundred more, but well worth it! You get what you pay for. I would have paid a few hundred extra to get everything done right the 1st time at a more competent shop and also wouldn't have wasted my time. read more

First time going to Special Signs and they totally won me over. Hung was incredibly diligent in helping me figure out the optimal printing solution for my wooden sign. Ultimately, he concluded that hand-painting it would provide the best result. Even as all sorts of digital printing are his specialty and he hasn't done a hand painted sign in ages (who has!?), he took it on and did a fabulous job, affordably and quickly. I bought a led scrolling window sing from them a while back they are over priced it stopped working so many times they don t send anybody out the third time it broke I took it in they charged me 80 again and it worked only 1 day and broke called them they said they can not do anything but go ahead and buy a new one ?????!!!!
