On the ground floor, there is womenswear, childrenswear, furniture and Beaverbrooks the jeweller. When you walk in, there is a big double height ceiling which really opens up the place! Upstairs pays host to menswear and homewares. There is also a Paperchase (yay!) and a small Costa Coffee. (yay again!) There are also toilets up here which are clean, spacious and bright. My favourite thing has got to be the furniture department because you are free to sit on the sofas and pretend you live a perfect life while you sip your Costa coffee. I was very impressed with the size of the shop and the Paperchase and Costa were doing a roaring trade with queues stretching out round through the shop. I'm glad that the old cramped store is now gone and we have this new one to serve us!

Not just the standard offerings either there are some real rarities and bless my scottish heritage, all at very reasonable prices! The quality of the mail order packing is great having seen it at work but ordering on the website not yet upto speed... so now I'll ring and make my order... nice to speak to them anyway!

I had a small disaster with my laptop and took it down to Simply Fix It's Dalkieth branch…read more Mack, the chap in the shop, was not only sympathetic and patient in the face of my obvious ignorance but was cheerful and identified the problem within minutes. He then set about fixing the problem despite the fact that he was the only member of staff on duty and obviously had other trouble-shooting operations on the go at the same time (thus proving that it is not only women that can multi-task). He had me back up and running and gave valuable advice to prevent the problem happening again. First class service, delivered in a knowledgeable and friendly manner.... and to cap it all, a very reasonable fee. The only criticism I have is for Simply Fix It's head office. I wrote to them complimenting them on their Dalkeith operation but never received an acknowledgement. This lead me to think that Mack was not given credit for his excellent service. For this reason, I can not give them the full 5 star rating.

My 5 year old iMac slowly died over several months, and I decided to try to get it fixed rather…read morethan replace it (first time fixing any PC). The staff were great and gave my computer a complete clean which I wasn't expecting, and called me with an update half way through and texted me when it was ready to collect. My iMac is now running good as new and they've saved me so much money. Will definitely take any computer to them first before replacing it. Very pleased!

Two cooked breakfasts were ordered ; one being vegetarian with Quorn sausages which were dry and so hard couldn't be cut through with a knife and fork and the scrambled egg was over cooked and dry , the on,y edible part were the beans and a large mushroom. The meat bacon and sausage and scrambled egg were all said to be over cooked as was the potato scone. we were very disappointed and won't repeat the experience.

This place is massive and you can get all sorts of items, besides the obvious plant collection. They already prepare for Christmas and artificial Christmas tree choices are ready to be carried out. There are several sections for the young and older generation amongst us. Personally I liked the kitchen appliance selection , the restaurant (self service) and the gift choices. Its the ideal place to go xmas shopping. In the back there are more shops, like Lakeland. Its a shopping center within a shopping centre :-). You might ask why only 2 stars? The reason being that the animal section, I felt, was a bit neglected. I saw a hamster in a cage with a tumor on his back side, lying in his excrements. It made my heart bleed and I should have said something. Sadly I could not find anybody to complain to. Would I go back? Considering that this place is not the cheapest and how they keep animals caged up, I have my doubts I'm eager to go back.

The artwork changes regularly, so it always feels a very fresh and inspiring place to come and chill out. Its amazing how quickly you forget the hustle and bustle of life when you go into moondogs and sink into one of their comfy sofas, taking in the creativity of the place and enjoy being able to relax!

We stumbled across this little gem whilst idly browsing shops in Jedburgh on a rainy day. The sign…read moresays Gallery in the Alley, and that's exactly what it is! Follow the signs, peek down the alley, and there is a load of bunting outside someone's door. There, an open door leads you into what appears to be the artist's home or studio with cards, trinkets, sculptures and jewellery for you to browse. The sign in the window invites you to just browse, but I did buy a lovely greetings card with a pencil sketch of chickens I'm a sucker for handmade.

You also get a really good range of home wear for the odd gift or to save the journey to IKEA. There are always the odd little bargain and for holiday gear it is idealthe underwear selection is also quite good for a shop of this nature.
