I'm currently pregnant with our first child and wanted to capture timeless maternity photos of myself and my partner. I honestly wasn't sure where to begin. Most of my friends and family have had children long ago and used Sears or JCPenney. Not that the latter is a bad thing, but it wasn't the style I envisioned. So I took my search to Instagram. With one hashtag, Brilianna was among a few businesses the came up. I made a quick and easy inquiry and the rest was history. From the very first call, Irina was so easy to work with. She asked me what I had in mind then gave me a full rundown of her services. Moreover, she was honest with her capabilities. We had an out of box idea that we wanted to try as an announcement. She was honest that she'd try but her expertise was more timeless than comedic. We ended up not doing it and not because of Irina, but because we no longer felt it was necessary. After that first call, I felt confident booking with her and canceled all other business inquiries. I booked the 'Classic Session' which included a fully guided session, professional makeup and styling, and up to 4 looks. As part of the looks, you have the option of using their beautiful gowns and wraps for your photos. For me, this took a large load off of me. Imagine having to buy 4 different dresses for a maternity shoot and on top of that, figure out sizing, transport, etc. It would've been a hassle (just an FYI - you can bring your own, but her selection is soooo beautiful and high quality, there is no need to!). More than the gowns, I think this was just a great value for everything provided. Most of the photographers I had found during my search, did not include nearly as much as I received. After paying my deposit, Irina remained communicative and I received an easy guide that helped my partner and I fully prepare for our session. Fast forward to the day of our session, it felt like such a relaxing day. The studio is spacious, clean, and modern. I got straight to hair and makeup with Kristen. She was a gem - very kind, welcoming, attentive, and helpful from start to finish. I loved her work as well. Kristen did a soft glam look with beautiful blending. In addition, she added soft waves to my hair that held up nicely throughout the shoot and the rest of the day. Later in the morning, Irina came in and worked her magic. I showed her the looks I wanted and she gave her expertise on what would work best. Kristen acted as a stylist and helped keep me flawless throughout the shoot, while Irina guided me. I was nervous taking photos in my pregnant body. But Irina did a great job guiding me and encouraging me to relax. Her being a mom as well, it was nice to have her reassurance and tips. We went thru each look, including a few with my partner. At some points, I even began to cry because the experience of this moment with my partner was really heart warming. It felt very full circle. No doubt, Irina captured everything I wanted for my maternity photos - love, timelessness, and happiness. As promised, she returned the unedited proofs to us within a week and we made our final selections. I'm now waiting for the finished result but I am very pleased with the proofs. My package included 10 photos and it was truly hard to choose. That's how great her shots were! I've included some candid shots in this review which my partner took during the session. This is just to show how awesome the team worked to prep me and position me throughout the session. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my experience at Brilianna Photography. If you want your memories captured professionally and beautifully do NOT use Digital Storm Video and Photography!!! On the day of my reception these "photographers" were so nasty to me. Any request I made was ignored. First, I asked for a first look picture, the picture of the groom's reaction seeing the bride for the first time, the female photographer refused to do this. Then, I asked for the photographer to do a picture of the bridesmaids blowing a kiss to me, she rolled her eyes and continued to give directions for other poses. We got to the hall and they insisted on taking all of our pictures in front of the limo. There was a beautiful gazebo that I had to ask a million times to take pictues in...the photographer's response? "UGH! Why do we have to keep moving around?" Seriously? Her attitude ruined my whole mood. Skip to me getting my pictures - they only edit the photos you choose for your album. Stupid. Fine. I choose my pictures for my album and called to ask for an estimated date that it would be ready. Response? "when we get to it, we get it. Idk" Huh?? Okay, fine. She sends me the album to approve and she's done basically no editing. There's electrical cords in the background of my photos, there's people's heads and people that aren't supposed to be in the shot still in the photo. What editing?!?!? Literally nothing was edited without me going page by page and saying "can you please crop this out?" "can you fix this?" I didn't go page by page because at some point I was too annoyed. I got my album to find that a few pictures that I was in, I am now cut out. My video? TERRIBLE. I, the BRIDE, am in a total of 5 minutes or less of the dancing at the wedding. You can clearly see them walk passed me many times. But there's a full minute and a half of my aunt shaking her butt. Thanks. Edit: I did receive a photo enlargement from them that I really liked and they did a good job with. That was my favorite part of their service. It was blended nicely with the photo from my Muslim wedding which I know she had to go out of her way to do so I did appreciate that. I was upset about the attitude that I was given. I felt as though I was treated unfairly. The male photographer was nicer and when I was emailing back and forth with the female (I'm sorry; I can't remember names) she was nice and accommodating. Time was tough and maybe tensions were high on the day of the reception causing the attitudes and anger.

Then over a year to get my wedding videos which had initial errors and had to be corrected. They did try to pacify me by giving me a wall size portrait. I needed to update professional headshots and got the package with makeup (well-worth it and a must-have I think) with Janelle as the make-up artist and Samantha as the photographer- a superstar team. I wanted their $380 package and photos with my parents and my toddler. They told me that grandparents were an additional $80 but did not mention anything extra for toddler. When we got there, I was then notified that to have my toddler + baby together that would be an additional $80. We went for it, but wish their pricing was a bit more clear upfront. Again they were great with the baby and had the baby in 3 outfits and 3 settings. The photographers were great with both my kids - keeping the big one entertained and the small one quiet. We got the digital photos back a little over a week from when we went to the studio and our prints almost a month later. The big photo print was great on canvas but the smaller photo print with frame was shoddily done without any protective covering/clear film over the photo. The photos and edits came out great but the quality of frames prints compared to my first experience was slightly disappointing. Besides that, I'd still recommend them for an affordable newborn photoshoot - just be mindful that any additional person besides the parents will be $80.
