Their office Mgr repeatedly lied to me and then wouldn't call me back. I've had to go out of area after a long delay of trying to do it locally. I highly recommend going to Roseburg for any orthopedic needs. They are very efficient and have very transparent systems. Also Roseburg has more advanced surgical technologies than Coos county providers. South Coast Orthopaedic is trying to overcome some big challenges in their business model, and it doesn't appear that everyone there is on board with it.

I didn't always agree with his assessment, and of course, I let him know it, but one thing I have always appreciated about Dr. Carter above so many other local docs is his ability to treat people with an ounce of respect. He seemed to feel he'd earned his degree and never was obviously threatened at any given time by any questions I threw his way. In this town, that says a ton! With his personality, I've always believed Dr. Carter could carve a huge niche helping people "nutritionally" since so few are even willing to acknowledge the help supplements can be. They also do not seem to understand how not to leave an overhang and how to finish a margin. The office looks nice, but the skill level of the dentistry is poor to middling, depending on who you get. They cycle baby docs through there, who get their experience there,and then move on. My guess is that they don't vett anyone. I find the forced friendly thing to be over the top and tiresome. The problem is thatvthey literally dont know what they should know. Also I've had some interesting bookkeeping issues there, like a credit for over $500 that I wasn't told about,until they wouldn't take my new insurance, and wanted me to pay on their insurance plan. I find their bookkeeping and dental skills suspiciously inadequate

I was a little late for my appointment and the person at the desk said I may not be seen and may have to reschedule which was upsetting because I was getting the second half of a bridge fitted that day. They did end up seeing me but being told that felt a little harsh, however, this is the only discomforting experience I've had with them.
