Price. They charge $84 a month for virtually the same internet I can get from Astound for $30. They are no longer the only game in town.

The setup was simple and Joe explained anything I would need to do to troubleshoot if there was any issue with the equipment. Would definitely recommend, and I highly encourage anyone over-paying for their internet service to consider what digitalputty have to offer.

update/edit see bottom:…read more Digital Putty is an excellent, enterprise level ISP that has made great strides in developing a fast, reliable network. Their network speeds, as well as their hardware, are amazing for the price. Other wireless ISP's have a tendency to over subscribe their networks, but Digital Putty maintains good throughput regardless of the time of day. If you live in a remote area, they will work with you tirelessly to establish service in your location. I have had nothing but professional and informative correspondences with their service staff. The only thing I would say they need to improve is their advertising. They should be a much higher profile company for the services they provide. Needless to say, I'm very happy. Update: Digital Putty seems to have weathered the loss of their owner very well. I'll admit, it was tumultuous for awhile, but overall bandwidth and stability seemed to have leveled out. One thing that people might not know about wireless ISP companies is that they have a narrow spectrum of frequencies to get you your service, and there is little to no regulation of those frequencies with regard to who is using them. Out where I live, there are five different companies(wireless ISP) that basically end up stepping on each other's toes in this regard. It can lead to connection issues, and Digital Putty seems to have a pretty good grasp on addressing these problems as the arise.

It's been almost 12 years and I finally have internet worth paying for. I felt hopeless with no other options until I heard of the WiFi services. After contacting all the WiFi services I had heard of I was still feeling hopeless. The only way to get service to my home would cost a ton of money up front. I mean $1000 plus just to get signal. I was referred by a friend to Surfnet. A company I had never called because I didn't know they existed. Sure enough they could get clear line of sight to their towers and now I have an amazing internet service and it was $179 for the install and equipment I needed. And $79 a month for service. I can stream and all that with no worries. Thank you Surfnet. Installation looks clean and neat and the guys were polite and friendly. No more big satellite dish that cost way to much and really just sucked. My kids can game. We can stream movies. And we don't have to monitor every thing we do because we have unlimited data.

The worst customer service I have ever dealt with, and the second worst (after Hughes net) internet service provider for areas outside of cable service (spectrum). If you want reliable fast internet service for rural and semi-rural areas, try starlink or ranch wifi instead. Surfnet is horrible! And dishonest! After years of poor service and frequent service interruptions, I made the switch to starlink as soon as it was available. I've been trying to get an accurate final bill from Surfnet for over three months, with no luck. They just keep trying to bill me for $529 literally every two days (at 12:01 am) when all I owe is $140. I am not getting a correct final bill or even a call back or email despite dozens of attempts. It's beyond the pale. Run, don't walk away from them. It's only a matter of time before they fold and go bankrupt.

I explained to the AT&t rep that my internet service has range from no internet service, good internet service to Fair internet service and I even was provided a internet booster to enhance the coverage within my house, to no avail. I was placed on hold for a substantial amount of time transferred to another rep regurgitated the same information I gave the first person that was not provided which only complicated things and at the end of 30 minutes on the phone there was no resolution I was told that the internet service after there's testing was good, and that if I wanted a service rep to come out to my home of record I would have to fork out $100.00 I guess this is AT&t's way of minimizing any one-to-one personal contact and services that used to be standard operating procedure for AT&t ,.. now their bottom line is maintaining their profit margin.

After a very confusing phone conversation, I was signed up. Here are all the things that followed: -a technician showed up at our house after we were told no one would need to come set anything up -the person that signed me up for internet service took down my personal information wrong. -he also told me wrong information about which kind of router to buy so I had to drive back to town to return the one I had bought. I realized that spectrum would be cheaper AND faster internet, so I never even registered with their internet service and decided to switch. Trying to cancel my service was literally impossible for a month. -after being on hold for literally almost 2 hours, AT&T couldn't identify me correctly because of their mistake of taking down my information wrong. After a very long and confusing phone call, they told me that to cancel service, I'd have to go into the AT&T store nearby so I could show my ID. I went in the store. When I told them why I was there, they just said "we can't do anything" and sent me to a different store. Drove to the next town to go to another store. "We can't do anything. You should try calling." -Got my bill (for a service I never used) of $61 and couldn't even pay it online OR over the phone because my identity couldn't be verified. -even with my account number, person on the phone refused to cancel my service. Tried to sell me on phone service. Hung up. Called back to get a different agent. FINALLY a nice person who understood my situation and cancelled my service. The first and only nice AT&T experience yet. I will NEVER use AT&T for any service in the future. this is my first yelp review. I was so fed up I just had to do this. Use spectrum.

How many ways can I say how much I hate charter? From their disgusting price games, to their…read moredishonest promotions, they take advantage of customers who have no other options. I was a customer for 25 years of uninterrupted service when my Autopay got disconnected by accident. By the time I figured it out, they had disconnected us. I called to restart, but because I hadn't been away from their service for 31 days, they refuse to give me the rate anyone else pays when they restart services. Instead of $89.99, which is already a rip off for 100mbps service, they said it would be $129.99 per month and I would not be eligible for any promotions unless I wait 31 days. Then I would be considered a "new customer". So let me get this right. A customer who paid on time for 25 years is forced to pay the highest rate possible, while only new customers get a deal. This is what happens when monopoly corporations take over a market. Since there are no other options in SLO, we are stuck with the worst service and business practices ever. This is not how normal businesses do business, but because they have bought their way into a market, with no competition, they can be as dishonest as they want to be. Just wait. The day is coming where there will be internet service at a good price everywhere. When that happens, we will remember the charter name and never again buy from them. Ever.

That is a form of discrimination!
