Her professionalism and expertise in Accent Reduction are above and beyond my expectations. The provided materials - Accent Reduction 101 Third Edition and links to audio files - are extremely useful and easy to follow and understand. Her coaching skills are immensely engaging and there's never a dull moment. I've learned a great deal about how to leverage and maximize my full potential using the speech stairs method and placing my speech articulators in the right position to have a better range of motion and speak with clarity and confidence. To be honest, we knew nothing about orofacial myology and it all sounded a bit too good to be true (97% success rate, etc.). I looked online for actual personal reviews and there were hardly any (which is one of the reasons I wanted to be sure to add this review here). In the end, we took a leap of faith and have been delighted with Mary (the owner and therapist at this practice). There is nothing mysterious about how she achieves that striking success rate - just lots of practice, commitment to daily exercises, and a lot of 1-on-1 support from Mary herself. I can also say that she is a consummate professional and a natural at working with children. She has helped my daughter feel so excited and proud of all her hard work so far. Speaking of which, my daughter really did stop sucking her thumb that first day (with the help of some thumb barriers). And just a month in, we no longer even need those during the day anymore. She has truly moved past the habit, but just needs some extra help at night. Dr. Fischer was close to me and had excellent reviews, so I decided to see her for my first ever dry needling appointment. I'm so glad I did! After just two appointments with Dr. Fischer, my calf is back to normal thanks to a combination of DN and the exercises and stretches she prescribed. She also helped me address milder issues in my lower back, arms, and lower body. DN can be an intimidating intervention, but Dr. Fischer made me feel totally safe and comfortable during the process, communicating with me throughout.
