This is a very small shop, has more of a thrift store feel than a typical record shop. If you're interested in r-n-b and hip hop this is likely more a four star location for you, because that is definitely what they specialize in. A decent amount of used vinyl, but no rock, pop, or indie selections. No new vinyl, some cassettes. They definitely specialize in 90's r-n-b, hip hop, etc. A lot of singles, probably a really good place if you're a DJ still actually spinning. I found the woman running the shop to be very friendly and charming. Cool overall vibe just a smaller, very specialized shop. You're not going to get the new LCD Soundsystem here but you may find an obscure Color Me Badd 12inch single still sealed. I picked up a nice used copy of Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl" LP, the 12 inch of "Opposite's Attract" and a sealed 12in PM Dawn single. Prices were good and all in all a fine experience.

The staff is very friendly as well. As soon as I entered the store, the lady asked me what I wanted to purchase and she was able to lead me to what I wanted. In addition, the prices here are very reasonable. I got five books for $35. If you want to go to a bookstore that is not a chain in Wichita, I would highly recommend this place place!

I feel like I can come in here to browse and truly find some great treasures without being overwhelmed. For example, I came in one day to find the entire Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. I picked them up for my husband, and he was beyond excited - they were the covers for the first run of the series which, although not "rare" can be a bit hard to get your hands on. I think I paid about $5 per book, and they're in awesome shape. These are the kinds of special finds I love to come across in second hand bookstores :)

Inside the place was filled with all sorts of toys and Magic cards and video game stuff and a Hitler doll. It was magical and dark. 1/3 of the building was dark because the light was out or off. It was odd. The only reason I do not give this business a full five stars: not so many comics for having "comics" in the name of the store. Also, they are hidden behind the counter, making it difficult to browse.

The fact that they are only open on week nights, and week ends, is kind of a pain (store opening times are more of a best guess than a firm commitment) and the staff that works there is not uniform in their ability or willingness to help. The main guys who run the place are really helpful. Some of the others, not so much. All in all, this place feels a bit more like a labor of love than an for profit business. Still, I buy most of my MTG stuff there and would recommend others to do so as well. The selection is the best, the prices fair, and the place itself is a 'trip'.

While I was walking by, a private security dog started barking and snarling, and the next thing I know, a private security officer is asking me whether I was carrying any firearms or explosives. (Where exactly I was supposed to have secreted such items while wearing a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, I do not know.) So, first of all, the mall's security dog is flagging visitors for carrying hazardous materials EVEN WHEN THEY ARE NOT. The security system is unreliable. And second, the security dog does not merely make a signal in these circumstances. This dog -- an enormous German Shepherd -- began barking loudly, leaping in the air, and charging at the end of its leash. It was TERRIFYING -- and the dog did this to me twice. All I can say is that I'm thankful I don't have a weak heart. It took a long time to stop shaking. I called the mall manager's office several times, but there was never an answer. No one is keeping watch there, and meanwhile there is a dog terrifying and harassing mall visitors. THIS MALL EMPLOYS A MAN WITH A DOG THAT TERRIFIES PASSERSBY AT RANDOM. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Here is my one and only complaint and it's major enough I knocked the stars down to 3 rather than 5. The store is often a mess. Huge boxes of books blocking walkways.
