We like to…read moresupport the local merchants instead of the big box stores, so we stopped in at Guthrie's to see what they had. The salesmen were helpful in helping us pick out a carpet that would work for us. We found one that suited our needs, they sent a guy out to measure the room and scheduled the installation. The installation required 1 seam about 1/3 of the way from the north end of the room. We noticed that the seam was very noticeable and the installers said that was the best they could do. They finished up and said they were leaving. There was carpet scraps all over the floor and the edges around the entire room were full of carpet fibers that needed trimmed. When my husband asked if they were going to finish cleaning up, they said they couldn't do that because of Covid restrictions, (really?) So, my husband and son spent an hour and a half finishing their job. The next morning, we discovered a gap between the carpet and trim piece in the main doorway to the bedroom. We called Guthrie's and told them about the problem and they said they would send someone out to fix it. No one showed up so we called again. They finally sent a guy out to fix it. The trim piece that was there was wood and my husband told the installer that we wanted to stay with a wood trim piece. When he left, we saw that he used a metal piece instead of wood! We decided it wasn't worth the hassle to have them come out again so we would live with the metal piece. About 2 weeks later, I was picking up a shoe out of one of the bedroom closets, when I discovered another gap in the carpet where they over cut the carpet around the door jam and tried to push it back together! It's obviously going to pull apart in time so we called Guthrie's again. Again, they said they would send someone out to fix it but, again, no one showed up and I don't think they ever had any intentions of sending anyone in the first place. I still have a seam that looks terrible and a gap around a foot jam that's only going to worse and it looks like my best bet of getting both of them repaired is to call another carpet store and see if they can help me. So, buyers beware, Guthrie's is a nice place to shop, but their installation and customer service is AWFUL!!!! You should find someone else to do the installation!

My partner and I purchased a large amount of flooring from LL Flooring at the end of September of…read more2021 to replace the flooring in our home. The order was over $7,000 and was based on measurements that one of LL's representatives did. The order was for a large amount of the copper barrel oak colored luxury vinyl plank. We used a different contractor for the installation, which took nearly a month to complete and he did not start immediately after we purchased the materials from LL Flooring. When our contractor started, he told us that we had far more materials than we needed and that the person who provided measurements must have measured incorrectly. This resulted in over unused 20 boxes of flooring and materials purchased for approximately $1,100. My partner contacted LL flooring about the surplus of material and was told that we would be able to return any flooring that was unused and made no mention about a return policy. We tried to return the 20 boxes of flooring in January and was told, for the very first time, that there was a 90 day return policy and that the most they could do was give us store credit. We were approximately one week beyond the 90 day return policy. When we got home, we checked our receipt and there was no mention of a 90 day return policy. I tried to contact LL Flooring via email to better explain our situation and was told that while LL Flooring COULD authorize a return after the 90 day policy, the most they would do for us is give us store credit. We were also told by a representative that the flooring itself was "basically bullet proof," and were then advised by our installation contractor that we should be careful moving any furniture on the new floors because of how easily they scratched. We conclude our experience with LL Flooring feeling very taken advantage of and lied to. We recommend you look elsewhere for flooring needs.
