The studio is clean and comfortable. It gets hot in Tucson in the summer but the AC and fans in here keep it cool enough. The reformers are in great shape as well as all of the equipment. It's very high quality stuff that feels sturdy when you're moving around on it. Marissa is an excellent instructor. She'll kick your butt in the best way. I also appreciate that she provides different levels of modifications depending on what you're comfortable with and there's no shaming if you choose not to do the more challenging version of a move. She's incredibly supportive and her positive energy makes me genuinely look forward to class. Highly recommend In Balance Pilates!!! My only recco is make sure you sign up for classes in advance as they can fill up.

My fitness journey at In balance Pilates started a few months ago when a good friend suggested I…read morejoin her for a class. The experience has been more than I could have asked for. After ACL reconstruction, I've regained full mobility in my knee and, just as importantly, the confidence to trust my stability again. The reformers allow for supported, almost weightless movement that you can gradually build upon as your body is ready. They've also had an incredible effect on my spine, providing a sense of decompression that I haven't experienced anywhere else. Thanks to In Balance, I've found myself back in the gym and feeling confident in my movement again. As an unexpected bonus, the strength and mobility I've developed here have even improved my yoga practice, which had plateaued before joining the studio. The teachers are wonderful at offering both challenges and encouragement. The music is always upbeat, and modifications are intuitively offered so everyone can stay engaged regardless of their experience or ability level. All of the instructors have been stellar, but I especially enjoy Tiana, Katherine, Shawna, and Dana's classes. They do such a great job building community, and I've genuinely come to look forward to wincing through the challenges alongside the variety of people I find myself surrounded by each class. This is an athlete-focused studio that truly meets you where you are. The instructors have extensive training both in and outside of the studio, and it's clear they know their craft and put real thought into their sequences. I also really appreciate the predictable structure of the classes. There's designated focus areas each month (shoulders, abs, booty) allowing me to realize actual improvements in my strength and flexibility as the weeks go by no matter who's class I make it to. I trust the teachers to hold space for whatever level of energy I happen to have that day, while still encouraging me to push myself when I'm capable of more. Thank you to the entire In Balance team for helping me build strength, mobility, and confidence for everyday life--and beyond!

This is a hard review to write because if I were rating the classes and instructors alone, this…read morewould easily be five stars. If I were rating my experience with the studio's policies, it would be closer to one. So three stars feels like the fairest reflection of a place I genuinely loved, but ultimately decided to leave. For almost three years, Yoga Pod was one of the rare places where I actually looked forward to exercising. The teachers are wonderful, the classes are excellent, and there really is something special about the community they've created. Unfortunately, over time I began to feel a disconnect between that sense of community and the way the studio's policies were implemented. The biggest shift began with a new attendance policy requiring members to arrive at least one minute early or be turned away. I understand why it exists, and I've actually noticed that classes run more peacefully because of it. What troubled me was how it was introduced: no community discussion or survey that I was aware of, no adjustment period, and zero tolerance from the start. I was turned away several times after arriving exactly at the scheduled class time. Having run small businesses myself, I would have approached that differently. The rule could still be the rule, but I would have wanted to understand how it affected longtime members and give people some grace while they adjusted. That's harder than simply applying a rule consistently, because it requires knowing your members and sometimes making judgment calls. But to me, that's also one of the great advantages of a small, community-oriented business. Then I had an unusual booking issue where a batch of classes ended up on my calendar on the wrong dates. I missed two classes and even showed up on the wrong day for one, genuinely believing I was scheduled. Yoga Pod investigated and found no known problem with their app; meanwhile, I regularly use other fitness apps without this issue. Ultimately, neither of us could really know what happened. When I asked how something similarly ambiguous would be handled in the future, I was told that unless Yoga Pod could verify a problem on their end, the usual policy would apply. To me, that means when no one can really know what happened, the default is that it's the member's fault. That's the part that just didn't feel right to me. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with running a business this way. Clear, consistently enforced rules are simpler. But it's not how I've run small businesses, and I realized it isn't what I want from a place I consider my community. That became especially clear when I started looking elsewhere and returned to another studio where I'd accidentally allowed nearly $2,000 in credits to expire while dealing with health issues. I told them it was entirely my fault. They extended every credit another four months anyway. When I came in, they gave me a rose and wished me well. They didn't have to do any of it. They chose generosity. That's ultimately what this came down to for me. Yoga Pod communicates with extraordinary warmth and generosity, but when actual decisions had to be made, I didn't experience that same generosity in their actions. I don't expect businesses to waive every rule or excuse every mistake. But I care deeply about what happens when rules meet actual human beings. To me, that's when the values of a community matter most. I also want to acknowledge the people who made Yoga Pod so special to me. Shae seems to be the mastermind behind the unique class design. Kumari has incredible grace and kindness. Brij was sweet to me even when we disagreed on policy. And Mallory made me feel genuinely part of a community. I can adore these people while also feeling that the organization's policies didn't support me in the same way. The good thing is that leaving pushed me to look around, and I've discovered other places and classes I'm excited about. I'm sad to leave, but I'm also grateful this experience clarified what I want from a fitness community: I want to feel known and supported.

You can get on a waitlist and to be honest you can often get into the class but you won't find out until 12-24 hours prior. So unless you have nothing else in your life it's a moot point. I think they have over sold their membership and despite talking to them they really don't care. They just tell you to get on the wait list. Or, of course you can pay for the unlimited which allows you to schedule further in advance. Quite the ruse to get you to pay more money. So incredibly frustrating.
