I wanted to bring the following to your attention as feedback since I'm guessing you or management is perhaps unaware of the cleaning tactics I noticed: Counter tops in kitchen had not been cleaned; had to go back and wipe them down myself Water on the floor in the pantry, which I didn't notice until a few hours later when I stepped in it Cleaners wore shoes the entire time, making messes on the floor and having to spend time re-cleaning it - this made me cringe so much that I just thanked them and asked them to leave instead of checking if everything I had wanted cleaned was good to go. For context, it was rainy and muddy outside. Cleaners wore the same shoes into my apartment, walking around everywhere. Then after they mopped, they walked over the cleaned floors with their muddy shoes. I politely asked them to re-do the floor on their way out. Cleaner "sweeped" my rugs using a dirty broom instead of using the vaccuum - this is really odd because it just added more dirt onto the rugs than there already was Additionally, cleaner didn't bother moving my rug to sweep or "mop" under it - I had to do that afterward Cleaners asked me to clear out my fridge myself so they could clean inside - Is this normal? It hasn't been the case in my experience with previous cleaning services There is still hair and dirt on the floor - I re-sweeped my apartment to get all the extra dirt When "mopping" floors - the technique used was spraying Clorox (like literally from a spray bottle) onto the ground, then going over the area with a towel on a device that resembled a Swiffer. I've never seen this before. The chemicals were everywhere in the air, and the floors are now slightly sticky - it wasn't like this before. For context, I have wood floors. This is a poor method to clean these type of floors in my opinion. None of my stuff was placed back where it was moved. I spent about 10-15 searching for a box, and additionally a couple of minutes searching for where my dishes had been put away in the kitchen. I went through the apartment and found used paper-towels used to clean various surfaces. I also found bottles that I had indicated were trash still remaining on the counter. I have half a trash bag full of the remaining trash left behind Cleaners left trash bags outside the apartment door, and one of the bags leaked some liquid onto the hallway floor outside, which I also had to clean I had originally booked a 3.3 hour session with one cleaner for around 150 euro. However, two cleaners showed up, charging me for two individuals for two hours, which was 180 euro. The male cleaner had little clue how to clean. He did the dishes well enough, but that's it. I asked specifically for bathroom and kitchen to be thoroughly cleaned, with the floors sweeped or mopped if possible. It's very frustrating that for 2-3 rooms (only HALF the apartment because I told them I did not need the other 3 rooms or hallway cleaned), they took two entire hours. This means it took one cleaner one hour to clean just one bathroom (which was already relatively clean) and "mop" the floor of the living area and it took the other cleaner one hour to clean just the kitchen alone. This is a bit ridiculous to me - I clean faster than this myself. For positives- Cleaners got the mold taken care of so I was very happy about that Most of areas that the female cleaner cleaned were good enough - she was fairly thorough where she cleaned and I appreciated it They arrive 15 minutes early I'm not requesting a refund because my primary concern was the mold in my fridge and my shower getting cleaned, which were both completed properly, although 179 euro for this is a lot. It's also clear that these are not actual cleaners who know which products or devices to use for basic cleaning. They additionally didn't clean or pick up after themselves - as in, they left messes that weren't previously there and were very lazy in their methods. I have hired another cleaning service to do a proper job and fix the sticky floors and vaccuum. However, I did want to bring this to your attention in case you're interested in what areas your cleaners may improve in, or perhaps so your company may be able to provide standardized training for your employees. read more

Terrible cleaning for a high price. I've been talking for about a week with the office to schedule a cleaning while I was abroad. They were nice and responsive. Too bad that whatever we've decided hasn't been taken under any consideration by the person who "cleaned". I was told that 2 hours for a deep cleaning wasn't enough. My apartment was already decently clean, and it's less than 50 sq. The only reason why I payed €40 per hour, was to clean the oven.Anyway, I trusted their judgment and I said that I would have paid for 3 hours. Again, I was ready to pay a "deep cleaning" cost for a regular cleaning of a small already clean apartment, plus the oven and the mattress. I also asked if the cleaner could have kept the keys and they said yes. I was over the moon! Then the reality... My friend went to open the door. The cleaner was late. He had no clue about the keys, he didn't want to keep them so I had to figure something else out last minute. He called my friend back because he couldn't figure how to open the water. He left after two hours. Because of their lack of communication and professionality I lost a tenant. He didn't want to stay in a filthy place! Here come the pics that I received from him. I asked for a refund, they refused and they sent me pics of what was cleaned for €80. Since I clean my house by myself I can tell that what I paid wasn't worthy. Plus they had the guts to tell me as an excuse that 2 hours wasn't enough. I suggested they checked the emails where I said that I was up to pay for 3 hours, because I needed a clean apartment. If you charge €40 per hour per person (more than twice what anybody else in Berlin) you need to be the best! They're far far away from being even good. read more

This "company" stood me up for 2 consecutive days. On the first day the appointed cleaner called almost crying to let us re-schedule for the next day. I agreed, the next day the cleaner showed 2 hours and a half late. I had already asked for a refund too, I declined the cleaner. Customer service tried to blame it on me. I had written them 3 emails to different contacts and tried to call them for those 2 hours and a half. I would not recommend you even try to hire their services. They are unprofessional and unreliable. I see they have a "emergency cleaning" service. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had hired that service. Would have given a 0 or -ve if it was there.. WORST cleaner services ever gone through.. So yesterday they called threatening that if we will not take off our -ve comments they will not return our money. Also the representative David and Nino has no solution for us. We even have a voice recording of representative which i would like to share if yelp asks and has concern over the authenticity. To be specific, we waited in house at the time. We called 8min after schedule time noone has picked up.. we send them email 7min later. Got response after 5min saying they were here. I went outside to check and bell did work. I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Spic and Span cancelled three appointments with me. The last one, I received a message 21:00/9:00pm on a Sunday, for an appointment at 9:30 on Monday morning. As if that was not bad enough, but then they told me they were keeping my deposit. How can a company require 48 hour client cancellation, and they can cancel 12 hours before an appointment and tell them they are keeping my money. After a great deal of arguing via email, since you cannot directly reach someone, I finally received agreement that they would refund the money. They should never have tried to keep the money to begin with. Awful company, and they did not even clean for me. I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Even if their cleaners show up late, they charge for complete duration of 2 minimum hours. I had the cleaner come an hour late, and I still allowed her to work for 1.5 hours after which I had to leave urgently for my work. Plenty of email back and forth with proofs showing the late arrival and non compliance of the cleaner yet they insisted I pay for full 2 hours. Or they wouldn't let me book the next appointment. Though I am kind toward the cleaner and gave her encouraging reviews, but she didn't do a good job leaving stains on photo frames. NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

I had a wonderful experience with this company - they were on time, professional, polite, and cleaned my apartment to my satisfaction. I have no complaints. I used the deep cleaning services - my furniture was moved, and my windows were streak free! I read the negative reviews - and perhaps the difference was that I was present during the cleaning? They did not show up on the booked date and they charged me the deposit anyway. They did try to rectify this and sent someone the following week. They then spent 4 hours cleaning a very small kitchen and a scantily furnished living room. I honestly could not see a big difference between before and after. I booked two cleaners for 3.5 hours. I was so excited to find an english speaking cleaning service and having returned from an extended absence and preparing to move, was really in need of house cleaning. The appointment was confirmed by emails and by phone. On the day of, the cleaners did not show up in the afternoon as scheduled. No one from the company contacted me to let me know of a problem or delay. When I called to find out what had happened, the company had no idea - and seemingly little interest - if the cleaners had arrived or not. Several emails and phone calls over the next several hours finally led to an email that "the cleaner" (there were to have been two) had been in an accident. We rescheduled to the next day same time in the afternoon. I confirmed again on the day of. Same thing. No one showed up and no one contacted me to let me know of a problem. I called the company and, as before, the person who answered the phone had no idea whether the cleaners had shown - even after what had happened the day before, there had been no attempt on the part of spic and span to make sure the cleaners actually arrived to work, let alone on time. From what I can tell, at least in Dusseldorf, spic and span contacts someone locally who then arranges the cleaners. But, once you pay the deposit and book the appointment, spic and span appears to make no effort to ensure that the people and service you've arranged actually materialize. I don't see how this is a sustainable business model. A frustrating waste of time. read more

I wish I'd read all these comments on Yelp before booking this service. Officially, Spic and Span is the most terrible service I've ever dealt with. I booked a cleaner to perform their most substantial service called DEEP CLEANING, as this was claimed to have been suitable for move-in and move-outs according to their website. A cleaning lady spent four hours at my new apartment supposedly doing nothing as all the rooms were in exactly the same state as we left them. When I tried to reach out to their customer support they tried to blame me for what happened saying I'd picked a wrong service tier. They also assigned a team leader who was expected to solve the whole thing. The team leader was 30 minutes late but seemed a nice guy anyways. He apologized on behalf of the company and agreed that the job wasn't performed well. However, it turned out later that he simply lied to my face. All in all, the service doesn't deliver on their promises and looks like a scam: -- no English-speaking cleaners -- no 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee -- no instant service booking as you still have to do tons of additional steps -- useless interface and vague website copy that rather misleads their users -- rude customer support Stay away from the service. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE i booked this company for a move in cleaning but i should've checked here, they have no idea what a move in cleaning is obviously. i'd expect it would be a deep cleaning with some people. but only one guy showed up one hour later with a paper towel in his hand, one hour late. i was the one trying to reach out to the company, no one let me know.... and his first words were you know you'll have to pay me for this missing time as well right? but the cleaning was worse honestly. their moving in service was mopping, oven cleaning and vacuuming. and for all of this they want 140 euros... in berlin... it's 1.5 months grocery shopping honestly. when i was out of office, they just sent threat emails... saying they'd report me to authorities if i did not pay. but it makes no sense to pay for this service, and then i explained them the situation, they are telling me I should have complaint formally, written within 24 hours. this "cleaning" was on a Saturday, why should I ruin my weekend with this complaint and was there a way to know this? now, they are not even responding to my phone calls and offering me 25% discount..... which means 110 euros is the price for a vacuum, mop and oven cleaning? so.. not recommending this service at all and not using it again, and warning my office as well... read more

Horrible service. It is roulette with the cleaners, either they are acceptable at best or simply don't care about doing any work and they half-do things. I ordered cleaning for my single room studio apartment which is around 30 msq. Since the shortest I can order is 2 hours, I did so. The cleaners told me it took 3 HOURS. Guess it is expected since the cleaner came with their child. I would suggest anyone considering this service to not take their chances and go for a professional one. read more

We were paying for a premium moving out service, and there was NO such party. Totally unprofessional to call a customer a liar. This is just a nightmare service company! I booked a deep cleaning service with 2 cleaning associates for 3h/each - none of them showed up, the customer service was not reachable. After a couple of hours I was told there was an internal communication issue. I was willing to give it another try and booked a 2nd appointment; given the past experience I checked several times with the customer service and it was assured the cleaning associates confirmed the date & time. Unfortunately it ended in the same situation - nobody showed up! It is really disappointing and definitely not a service company I recommend!! read more

Overall I am happy with the experience. The cleaners showed up around 10 minutes late, claiming that they had to stay a bit longer at another client's, so not the perfect start. But then it got better. In 2.5 hours almost transformed my 50sqm apartment. What I liked the most is that the quickly understood my preferences and I didn't had to explain everything twice like it happened with other companies. Personally I am convinced that most of these reviews are written by people who work for the company. Even if you want to realistically evaluate the service it is certainly not for five stars, not even for four. Half of what was "cleaned" I had to clean again myself, some elementary things were not done (cobwebs from the corners, dust from the shelves, the floor was vacuumed and wiped but not under the chairs?!, the TV screen was not wiped, and many, many more details...), half of the things we agreed on before the cleaning started were not done, and what was done was mostly done sloppily. A small kitchen that takes me a maximum of one hour to completely clean - a professional cleaner cleaned for almost 3 hours. I didn't immediately check what was done, but I planned to give 3,5 stars because it was immediately clear that some things we agreed on were not done, as well as some things that are implied (and which I nevertheless stated). After realizing that I would have to do most things all over again and hire another company, I had to leave this review. In the message you receive from this company with the invoice, you can evaluate the service you received. It states that if people who clean get more negative ratings, they will be "removed". First of all, I don't want to be a reason for someone to get fired, and I also don't want to evaluate the work of people I don't pay. I hired this agency, and whether they successfully and adequately trained their employees is not my concern. And, since I don't pay cleaners, but the company that sends them, this review only applies to them. I even removed the positive star regarding the simplicity of scheduling because of that shift of responsibility from the company to cleaners. read more

I run an art gallery in Mitte and had to clean after a very busy opening night to open the next day! Thank goodness I found Spic&Span. They showed up immediately without any extra charge or convincing. Not only did they clean everything from the opening party night - but they cleaned areas that had been dirty for months. When it's this clean you can see the art even better. I definitely plan to call them after every opening from now on! read more

After trying to book an appointment with a different company, which was then cancelled last minute, I turned to Spic and Span. I was going to be leaving Berlin for a few months and wanted to get my apartment cleaned for the person subleasing my apartment. I was easily able to make an appointment, and after speaking with my tenant, I was told they did a great job. This is for the Cologne location which was extremely unreliable. Not sure whether this applies to other locations in Germany. I had an end of tenancy cleaning just before I had to hand over the house earlier this year. Called them 10 days in advance to ask whether the start time can be adjusted after booking because was not certain when the moving company would finish. Was advised by Spic and Span to instead book last-minute cleaning option the day before the move out: costs a little more but should have no problems at all, I was told. Did as advised: 24 hrs in advance I booked a team of 2 cleaners for a 150m2 house for 4 hours, with vacuums, tools and materials (since my cleaning stuff was already picked up by movers). Received a confirmation by email. Just to be on the safe side, also called them and was told all was in order. Then, got a call 10 hours later to let me know they would not be able to come on time. Agreed that they would come a bit later but will still finish by the time I had to give the house back. The next day, I started cleaning early in the morning with what products i had left because i did not think the 2 cleaners will have enough time to finish. Later in the day, a single cleaning lady turned up at my door with one brush (no products, no vacuum, nothing). There was no way she could clean the place by herself in the remaining time with no tools. The company guy called me re satisfaction check. I said that they did not comply with the booking on the timing, the number of people and the equipment. His response: " Well, so you are not happy. Have a nice day". Clearly a very "client oriented" company :-) If they simply did not accept the booking at the time I made it, it would have at least had the time to look for alternatives. Instead they dragged it until the last moment. And they did know that this was an end of tenancy cleaning so had big implications. All in all, not recommended. Ask you cleaning lady or your neighbor's cleaning lady to come and spend a full day for end of tenancy instead. At least you know she is likely to turn up and have a vacuum. read more

its not possible to give zero stars here on yelp as that would be helpful to review a horrible experience. My wife and I booked this service based on the reviews here -- 2 cleaners for a 100 sq m apartment. We requested that they bring their own vacuum and included a detailed note about which areas to focus on, etc. (floors and bathrooms). They showed up with no supplies -- only thing sad faces, heavy sighs, and excuses for why they had nothing with them. The male cleaner was extremely rude, and looked like his dog died this morning... with obnoxious comments and questions, such as "how much rent do you pay?" To top it all - here is the kicker : he stops working, letting the female cleaner continue, comes into the room where we were working and starts to tell us how much he loves Donald Trump!! -- "why do people not like him? I like him!!" -- and this is the only time he smiles, actually. My wife shuts that down.... and then it was misery central again. After mentioning in the booking and telling them verbally at least 5 times we would like the floors and bathrooms done as a priority, and that the limit is 2 hours for this 1-bedroom apartment (totally reasonable for 2 cleaners, wouldn't you think?) - they spent an entire hour cleaning the bathroom together and did not finish the floors. We sent them on their way after 1.5 hours -- and they asked us to fill in a post-cleaning report. When the male cleaner was unhappy with my response on the sheet, I literally had to throw him out of the house, and he only left when I used extreme profanity. Absolutely horrific experience !!
