What made the experience much worse was the response when I complained. Instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the problem, the staff became argumentative and defensive. I was told, "This is Pakistani cuisine; our food is spicy." I was then told that I could have ordered fries. When I explained that their own server had told us fries were unavailable, I was actually told that I should have taken my children to McDonald's. That response to a customer who had specifically requested non-spicy food for small children was completely inappropriate. I asked to speak with the owner or person responsible and was refused. They removed only the additional returned plate but still insisted that I pay for the children's platter even though it had not been prepared according to the request they accepted and the children could not eat it. We came to a restaurant expecting to feed our family. Instead, I left having to find somewhere else to feed my children, while still being required to pay for the meal. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What determines the quality of a business is how it handles the mistake.
