She was being sarcastic if you hadn't guessed. Las Vegas Amusements looks tired and relic-like from the outside and not much is different on the inside. The floor is sticky, wet and smells of wee but hey, doesn't most of the British seaside? We only went in to play with the two pence machines and that is all we did, mainly because it was so damn hot we wilted within 10 minutes.

There are wonderful views wherever you are. On the south side the footpath takes you through Abergwynant Woods and there is an RSPB Nature Reserve nearby. Well worth a visit, particularly if you like walking or cycling.

My recommendation would be to go around sunset to take in the setting sun! Stop and get yourself a waffle or ice cream (depending on season) and enjoy the views from a bench!

A mixed fairly dark sand and shingle beach but pleasant enough to walk on. The water is good for…read moreswimming and surfing too. It's a safe family beach with a lifeguard during the summer, disabled access and nearby toilets. There are many cafes and kiosks for ice cream and snacks and the beach is very close to the town as well. Nice views of Constitution Hill and the Georgian hotels and guest houses along the promenade and some great sunsets to be seen here too.

Outside of Machynlleth - heading towards Aberystwyth - but turning left you will find a remote spot…read morecalled Glaspwll. Near there you can walk for miles and miles. There are hoiday cottages in Cefn Coed which are very nice. I have been to one because a lady from Sheffield invited me to have some cider with her and her family. The husband was on his mountain bike. The tracks cannot be recommended, they have not been well maintained. On my walk I had to go back because it was too muddy - but the scenery is really beautiful.
