So I am not in the least bit surprised that I thought I should pop in and get one of the artists to have a look at a new design I have been working on. I spoke to Wayne who was happy to take my design and redraw it into a transfer ready for being placed on my upper thigh! he said needed a day to do it, when I went back the next day he had worked wonders with my initial design and made it look fantastic! I still have not gotten round to having the tattoo put on, but I will definitely be getting it done here. I felt like the staff here treat each customer very professionally and in a way that sets them apart from other parlours, the shop itself looks more like a posh Japanese boutique and nothing like your usual bikers joint!

As well as designing and inking a beautiful pair of Japanese sleeves for my arms, I was blown away by his knowledge, skill, passion and enthusiasm. Every process of the experience from my initial consultation to the three four hour sessions I had at his studio seemed smooth and effortless. What's more, he played a great selection of music from Patti Smith to Amy Winehouse, encouraged me to keep taking small breaks and made me laugh during the really painful bits - like elbows, shoulder blades and bones! If you're interested in getting something done by Lawrence or one of his protegees, they are available for face to face consultations between 11-12am most days. Well two years later, in 2021, when I could get back to the UK I asked him to do another piece for me. The result of these tattoos are so perfect that I am sure now that the only artist for me is J. He is interesting, knowledgeable about the area and history, and most important J is a perfectionist. Everything I want in the person creating a lifelong image on my skin during a long sitting. I write this about a month after my second visit to Dermagraffiti and I still catch myself enjoying the tattoos that J did for me.
