I went to Spin! ON Campbell and Collins in Richardson tonight for dinner with family and while we were there my parents gave my wife and I am anniversary card. Long story short, I forgot it (and the money inside it) when we left. The employees there found it, used our receipt and Spin! Club Card number to track us down to return it!! I really don't like most pizza, but I was incredibly impressed by the unique offerings. We just loved the Spinach & Goat Cheese salad - anything with goat cheese is a winner with me! Great choices for pizza that aren't just your conventional "pepperoni", though it is an option. They have gluten free crust, it's pretty good. Over all the food is good, wine and drink choices are great. They could do a better job of bussing tables. Just finished lunch and overall good meal. Came on a Saturday at noon - no line. Ordered a 12" tri meat and kids meal - both came out fast. 12" had good amounts of meat. Good crust. Hearty. Kids meal came with a drink and very small cup of gelato (one of those sampling cups you find at Central Market soup section). Gelato (Tahitian Vanilla) is delicious. Restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms. Service was attentive and prompt. I'm personally not sure why they don't just let you pick up the food and refill your drinks yourself, but the waiters were nice and professional. read more

However when I called them back, John (their manager) did MORE than expected and fixed the situation. My sister and I came here twice. Both times the line was long, which is good for them, and took a while to get our food, which isn't good for my tummy. We ordered two whole pizzas and one Spin! Caesar salad. One pizza had half Pesto E Pollo (Chicken & Pesto) and half Pollo Arrosto & Chevre (Chicken & Goat Cheese) . Our other pizza had half Pepperoni and half Goat Cheese & Fresh Arugula. We like the toppings, but we had a hard time eating our pizza since it was dry compared to other pizzas we've eaten. The salad definitely help us eat our pizzas! Our pizza had a lot of flavor. The ingredients were fresh and they do not skimp out on the toppings. The downside was that there was too much crust. Incredible service and food! I had a Greek salad, which was AMAZING, and a mini pizza. The crust was perfect, with crunchy outside edges and thin, chewy center. Their base red sauce was amazing. I had potato and caramel used onion for my 2 toppings. It was incredible. Both owners, the GM, and the staff stopped by plenty of times to tell us how glad they were that we were there. It is a great place for wine, gelato (Tahitian vanilla was crazy good) and fabulous pizza. Please make sure to stop in if you like artisanal pizza. It was awesome! read more

I went here with a group of my friends and you order at the register and seat yourself. It is full service although you have already paid at the register so they give you your ticket with a pen for you to decide how well the service is towards the end. A little strange, but whatever works for them. The menu is located at the side of the register, I'm not sure if they have portable menus but I couldn't find any when I was there. I know they're known for pizza but the ones on menu were personalized pizzas. They were all pretty pricey for personalized pizzas. Don't get me wrong, I bet they have the best ingredients and are way better than your regular pizza joint like Papa John's, but a 12 dollars personalized pizza? That's a lot. I ended up getting the chicken calzone and it was $8. It wasn't a big portion. Two small calzones with sauce to dip in. I didn't get blue cheese with it but I thought it was okay. I tasted more of the bread than the filling. Good on a warm day but nothing too special. I don't know if I would go again because it wasn't special. The customer service was great and that's all I can say about this place. If you like pizza, it's worth checking out but if you're not that picky with your pizza, then maybe you should save your money and go someplace else. It's a nice roomy and spacious area where you can easily catch up with your friends without worrying that you're being too loud so that's a plus. read more

Kinda confused as to why I tip when I order the food from the second I get in. I will have to say they do have a good pizza sauce and the pizza itself was great. I have always enjoyed Spin and think they have great food, especially love the flatbread with roasted red pepper dip; HOWEVER, I have been very disappointed in their continued advertisement of happy hour despite cutting it they used to have great deals on mini pizzas and flatbreads). They used to have happy hour until 7, then they cut it back until 6, and now they don't even have happy hour (even though it still says happy hour every day on their menus). If you're going to cut happy hour altogether, at least dish out the money to re-print your paper menus. I would understand if the transition to no happy hour just happened, but this has been for months. read more

The driest and most tasteless pizza you will ever get! They call it 'Neapolitan' and it's so NOT Neapolitan. It's basically a regular pizza with a very dry and tasteless crust. I'm guessing they use very cheap ingredients in order to mass produce for this growing franchise (I guess it's striving to be the Subway of pizza, and that alone should clue you into the quality of the food). Avoid this place at all cost, unless of course you're into dry and tasteless pizzas. Which, if you are, there must be something wrong with you. If you're looking for an actual decent Neapolitan, there are a few good places in the area, including Cavalli Pizza, which has a modest little spot in Irving (very simple and decent; and is actually Neapolitan). On a side note, can we sue Spin! Pizza for false advertising? Because anyone with a brain can tell you they're not serving Neapolitan pizza. Goddamn scammers! read more

This is our 2nd visit to Spin and most definitely our last...on our 1st visit...the order got lost but they apologized and we thought we would give it a 2nd try. BIG MISTAKE!!!! We had the lunch special which included a small pizza and salad...my husband pepperoni came out almost immediately...no salad...15 minutes later my pizza came out...still no salads! My husbands pizza was cold and mine was devoid of cheese or sauce...and 1 slice was crust only! I did take 1 bite of the pizza which was so dry I almost choked to death...I can eat a saltine cracker at home for a lot less than $22!!!!! This place is a great find! A friend of mine, told me about it and my husband and I just had to try it. We went in for lunch yesterday and was immediately greeted by someone. From the minute we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. One thing that really stood out to me was the staff. We were greeted walking in and the person that took my order was kind and helpful. There also was a manager (Ben, I believe) that came to our table to make sure everything came out good and that we were being taken care of. He joked around with us and gave us a few laughs. The manager and his staff all looked like they really enjoyed working there, and that made our overall experience more enjoyable . I had the Tre Carni pizza. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS. The crust was cooked perfectly and the meats were so rich and flavorful. This place is going to become a regular for us. read more

You can tell an establishment will be successfull sometimes from the onset...just like a new song on the radio that has that certain quality which let's you know its going to top the charts. Spin certainly has that quality and more. Scott the area manager for Spin told me he's been in pizza for 30 years, and while there were no Italians other than myself at the establishment at the time, Spin proved it doesn't take an Italian pizzaiolo to make a good pie. they have got the basics right. the dough has enough time to ferment throughout the day and be nice and bubbly with the right flavor, and the wood fire is absolutely present in the char on the dough which is perfectly even thanks to their unique spinning carousel oven (hence the name Spin!). The pizza here will not burn a hole in your pocket and while they have toppings that would ease the general american market such as a barbeque pizza, they also keep it simple with the classic margherita which I enjoyed so much that chewing it felt more like kissing it. Dangit. I hate to be a bearer of rough news but 1 great, 1 a-OK and 1 clusterfahq of an experience leaves me to put a 2-star smackdown on Spin! Which SUCKS because I love pizza. And they're food is really good. But have you ever had to wait 42 minutes for a fire-oven pizza? If you say yes, you are lying. As a Chicagoan I love pizza of all kinds - stuffed, deep dish, thin, wood-fired. You name it, it goes in my belly. I saw this was a ROTD the week I was in town and decided I had to stop in. On a side note: SPIN! is actually very similar to a local chain we have, Blaze Pizza, which is a huge hit among my co-workers. Fire-baked pizzas, customized to your liking, in and out of the oven in minutes, for a reasonable price. I love this concept. I even told my two colleagues coming down next week that SPIN! is THE place we are hitting up. Tuesday's stop was fine. Fairly quick ordering process and quick turnaround. They originally did send me out the door without my order of flatbread and without me realizing it, but one of the staff chased me down to make sure I got it. I appreciated that! The 5 cheese pizza was excellent. The Caesar salad was great until I found a small blue something in there. Gelato? A towel? My co-worker and I weren't sure. I have worked in a restaurant and I know shtuff happens. It was no biggie and I was pretty full anyway, so I passed on it and just kind of moved on. Thursday, on the other hand, was a shitshow. Put in orders for my co-worker and I, cozied up to the bar, turned down a gratis glass of water while I waited. And just waited. And waited. And waited. The girl behind the counter noticed me several times. Actually, several people behind the counter noticed me many many times. About 15 minutes in, one came over to chat with me. "What name is your order under again?" "Oh, it will just be a few minutes." You know how you sometimes get so frustrated that you actually watch a clock to see the exact amount of time that has passed? This was one of those times. 27 minutes. Yes, 27 minutes for my co-workers mini pepperoni pizza to come out. Great, except mine was still missing, and at this point everyone stopped acknowledging that I was even in the room. My pizza came out at minute 37, but since everyone was running around it say there for roughly 5 minutes. 2 cold pizzas, 2 wilted side salads, and not even a THANK YOU/Sorry for the wait/I hope you weren't in a rush/You must not have a lot of work to do today when my food was handed to me. Ouch. Who knows... maybe the look of disappointment, kind of like the look of disappointment my parents had on their faces when they caught me drinking at a party in high school and shamed me in front of the neighbors, made the employees think I should be avoided and not spoken to, but I am an extremely reasonable guy and someone just letting me know there was an issue would have made THE.ENTIRE.WORLD.OF.DIFFERENCE. So off I went, vowing never to go back again. But I did, at the co-worker's request. She came in town and we had built up this pizza place so much she had to try it. We came here on a whim and are leaving with a sense of just having met my new lover-- by the way, my hubby is feeling the same way! We both had the "perfetto for lunch!" They were exactly right, such a perfect lunch. The service from the moment you come in the front door to when your time is up and you must leave - bummer - is monumental. No lie - I wish I had this group making my dinner every night when I get home from work. Alas, what an amazing find - the ladies room was spotless and yet another room I just wanted to hang out in. Either this kind of pizza place is too modern for my taste buds or the food is genuinely pathetic. First of all no chicken options and creating one own does not Come with any combinations. Taste was very bland and almost tasteless. Calzone felt like it was filled with boiled flavorless chicken and cheese. Salad was very very tangy with overloaded drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette.
