From the time on the phone and when at my house explaining all the entriquete details of the job and materials, I knew he was the one I would hire. I first looked at the reviews and didnt see a single bad one. I know why. I had called others and even on the phone their phone etiquette was atrocious, so I didn't even bother. Being a woman, he never talked down to me, never rushed me, didnt mind explaining things to me again when I asked. He was super courteous and had a welcoming smile. I felt extremely comfortable from the beginning through the end. He completely redid my fro t steps and the concrete of my garage. Although his plate was full, after hearing my sob story, he made time in his schedule to fit me in. Aside from aesthetics, my main needs were getting the back yard completely leveled, fully seeded, a dog area, and the drainage relocated. He knocked them all out of the park. Dave and his team were extremely professional. They came and worked like gangbusters for 4 days straight. Always on time and working all day. I was never wondering if and when they were going to show up like you do with other contractors. It was not cheap, but like most things in life, you get what you pay for. Zero aggravation and no excuses are priceless. He knew I was on a budget and did try to cut costs where he could. He expertly relocated some flowers and shrubs that made sense, which did help save some. Being the end of the season, he also utilized some left over plants/shrubs/flowers that he already had to use in my project. In the end, Dave came in and saved the day. The wall started to lean slightly within 5 years as it was not built with drainage in mind. This time around, I wanted the retaining wall build the right way. I called Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping to get an estimate because I prefer someone local and was pleased with their online reviews. Carlos arrived as scheduled to write up the estimate. He immediately suggested re-using the blocks since they seemed to be in decent condition and would save money. I met with another company the day prior and was originally planning on getting a 3rd estimate. After getting Carlos' very reasonable estimate and asking a few question regarding timeline, I approved the estimate and was ready to move forward. Just 3 days later, the work started and was finished just 4 days later with a Sunday and a rainy Monday that was a wash out. I was so pleased since this has been on my todo list for the last several years and relieved to have it done correctly. My neighbor was also pleased to get part of his yard back.
