I ordered a pizza at 11pm. They said it I would be 45 minutes. Then it was pushed to 1.5 hours. That was fine we were hungry. And then they added 5 dollars to the bill because "the price online was wrong". We canceled and got a refund. If you advertise something at a certain price and I pay that price it is on your business to eat the cost of you "accidentally" misrepresenting your pizza price. I have a feeling the price was right, but they assumed since it was a late night order they could pull one over on us. Find somewhere else to eat. Spinelli's is hot garbage, and they deserve to go out of business. I work in sales and I would never add a cost to something that was already bought and paid for. read more

Honestly this place doesn't even deserve a star. Went here the other night and first off the waitress wasn't sure if they carried blue cheese. (she was new) normally I don't mind if someone's new but when you mention that multiple times and you're not busy I don't really care. The wings were extremely dry. Like if you compared these wings to Arizona's "dry" heat that's the equivalent. Either way they were super crunchy. Now to the pizza the pepperoni pizza was as burnt as Darth Vader's face and more grease on the pizza than John Travolta's hair in grease. Simply put, not good. My slice came out warm but not hot like you'd expect, but even if they'd gotten the temp right I don't think that would help much. Tastes like they cut corners on ingredients. Better pizza for less money within a short walk away. I have never been here but had it on my list of places to try. I am sad that I did not try this sooner. The pizza was fresh and delicious. We had cheese bread and salad too and both were surprisingly great. Usually salad and bread is just decent or good, but this gem stood out as far as pizza restaurants go. Probably the most unwelcoming pizza place in AZ. In fact, you will be asked to present your ID by an unprofessional bouncer who has no manners in communication. This is the first time of my life to see a pizza joint with a bouncer. At least, the cashier was very nice and respectful. As for the pizza: three slices of pizza cost me around $27 which was/is insanely expensive. It is not bad but not the best. It barely had cheese even though i asked for extra cheese. Spinelli's was a pleasant experience. It was not crowded at all, and I visited on a Friday night around 11 p.m. Customer service was superb, the lady hosting my table was extremely nice and accommodating. It took about 15 minutes after ordering for the pizza to come, which was a great wait time. The pizza overall was enjoyable. It's greasy but not too greasy, it would have been better with more cheese + marinara sauce. The crust was cooked a little crispy and it was a little thinner than regular crusted pizzas. The ranch was delicious. The slices are decently huge and an 18" has 8 slices. Shared between 3 girls, we still had half the pizza left after eating. The total was $26 for the pizza. My brother loves coming to Spinelli's with his buddies, so when we had an opportunity to hang out one evening, he wanted to come up to Tempe and dine there. It's just a quick walk from my humble abode in the "Hipster Compton" neighborhood. The place fits in well with the downtown vibe, it's very lowkey hipster, similar to Gringo Starr. I find it weird they had no music playing, instead New Girl on Netflix on every TV screen. This was right as PokemonGO was going crazy, so they had an Ash & Misty shot special advertised outside. He really just wanted pizza. We ordered a whole pepperoni pizza, and it took awhile [no complaints]. The way my brother described this pizza, you'd think it was the best thing since sliced bread. I wasn't terribly impressed, but I did like the crust and how carbo-licious it is. The slices were almost as big as my face, so we took them to-go. Not sure if that is why the price for an entire pizza is a little high. Probably just worth it in the future to come for a slice. read more

Usually love coming here with friends after a long shift or a night out! Came in tonight to a bouncer named something like Jay - he had a terrible attitude and was awfully rude to my friends and I. We came in with 5 of us excited to buy pizza we have gotten several times before without issue and although it doesn't make the world of a difference that we were not able to enjoy the service we were turned away for several jabs, provoking questions and an awful attitude by the door man. Didn't know simply not speaking to a man warranted questions leading to being kicked out :) will not be back again, super disappointing. I'm really giving this place 3.5 out of 5 stars just because the food is good and the owner is from Philly. And Philadelphia is one of my favorite cities. Slice of pizza was huge, Philly cheesesteak was delicious, and their macaroni bites were off the chain! The only downside to the place was that the service was slow and the server forgot my husband's drink and food order. It also took her a while to check us out. They weren't even really that busy so I don't know what the deal was. She was nice though. Also, when I called late that night to place a delivery order, they told me it would be 2 hours for delivery. How did I go my entire ASU career without trying Spinelli's?? Well I have now and I will definitely keep coming back. After a night out on Mill it just in Tempe it's the perfect thing to munch on. Prices for their slices are pretty expensive considering how thin the crust is, but it's honestly really good pizza. The BBQ chicken pizza is my favorite, with onion rings on top who can resist? Lines can get pretty long after bar close, but they are open until 5am so you get your pizza no matter what. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, one of my new favorite spots! read more

Have had several issues with ordering from them as of late. Either it takes a very long time, or like tonight, my order never arrived and they said they never got it because "their tablet broke". Which is weird considering I was given a confirmation email that my order was received. This is one of the most expensive pizza places for some of the nastiest pizza I have ever had. I had to order the pizza 4 times and they still didnt get it correct. I asked them to make it right (financially) and they offered to make it again but I had no faith the 5th time they would get it right. We took the leftover pizza in a box, I gave to a man on the street who said he was hungry in front of Jack in the Box. He took two bites and said he wasnt that hungry that it was gross and "for $50 he could find and make me an amazing meal out of a trash can that would tasted better." My fiancee ordered a salad which I paid probably $10 for. It consisted of Romaine lettuce that was wilting and croutons. It was missing a few items to be called a caesar salad and we were given pre-packed balsamic vinegar dressing not caesar dressing. The croutons in the salad were bad (which is stale bread already) tasted as if they were left in the kitchen for a week and picked up the flavors and smells of a dirty, greasy kitchen. The server never returned after we said the pizza was wrong. The manager didnt care and didn't understand that I didnt want to wait another 10 minutes to have another pizza made (most likely incorrectly) because we were hungry and in a hurry. Instead he chose to questions my fiance's culinary background and who she knew at the restaurant. My fiancee came home with stomach pain and threw up about 30 minutes after getting home. There were a lot of national chains in this area, so we were looking for something more authentic to Arizona and came upon this dive. My friend said he had eaten there before and that it was really good, so I was stoked to go. I was expecting a regular pizzeria but when I walked in, I was glad to see it was a comfortable dive with quirky decoration. There was a painting with a take on the last supper with PBR, the bathroom was unisex and plastered with vintage 50s porn with hearts and whatnot covering any "unmentionables" along with 50s diner tables/chairs and there were neat skateboard light fixtures hanging above, etc. My type of place. PIZZA For a slice of white pizza, it was $4.25 and it was delicious. If you ordered one of the more creative pizza slices (my friend ordered a Taco pizza he thought was equally as delicious) it will cost you about $6-$8. It was pretty standard/reasonable for a jumbo slice that is the equivalent of two large NY slices. SERVICE The bar staff were friendly, accommodating and super sweet. I'm not from the area, so one of them even gave us some recommendations for places to go to afterwards, one being this pretty awesome gaming bar where apparently they had Reddit Prom. read more

What a HUGE disappointment! Saturday night was our first time going there. It was not busy while we were there,nobody at the counter except us and only a few other customers sitting at tables. Not even special toppings!! Only one topping each! Then on top of that we waited almost 30 minutes for our to go order...Not one employee between the two we spoke to when ordering said "hey maybe a whole pizza would be a better deal" or anything. Even when I complained about the price right when ordering the guy and the gal at the counter both said "it will be the best pizza you've ever had" and "big huge slices". Hmm Well , we all took a bite in the car right after finally getting our slices and the slices were cold!! Not just a little cold. Super cold. Freaking sucked! We had driven away already and after waiting so long for the food we didn't want to waste more time going back. Only one slice was fairly big...the rest were not big :( We won't be returning!
