This wildlife enclosure is located in Adelaide South Australia. When you first enter the compound you follow the path to a large enclosed bird atrium. There were so many beautifully colored birds flying about playing games with each other. One parrot even landed on my head! See posted picture. The birds were very friendly, and none of them pooped on me. I purchased a bag of kangaroo food and did not have to go far before I was being stalked by a mob of these cute creatures. I believe the groundskeeper said they house approximately 200 kangaroo. The kangaroos were free to roam the large property. They were very friendly, though the Park makes you sigh a liability waver just in case you get hurt. I got to pet and play with wallabies and a cute baby joey. If you want to pet a koala, make sure to look at the time on your program that tells you when they take him out. An interesting and kinda scary fact is that koalas, even though they are cute and cuddly, they do not like to be approached. They have very sharp claws and teeth. The keeper gives strict instructions to only pet the shoulder blade/back area because they have a bone plate there and they cannot feel you touching them. Urimbirra also has a large reptile exhibit. Other animals to see were Dingo, possum, alligator, deer, fox, sambar, wombat, and one of my favorites a Tasmanian devil. There is a small restaurant and gift area located at the entrance of the park. You can also pack a lunch and have a picnic with the wildlife. This was a big highlight on my trip to Australia. I have never been able to get so up close and personal with so many types of animals before.

It's not that big…read moreplace but if you just want to feed the kangaroos and get up close with koala, that's the place to go. My in-law was here to visit us and really wanted to see Kangaroos and koalas, this was the best place for us to being her. It's only $15 per person and you get stay there as long as you'd like. You can also pet the koala for free and take selfie. There are also some other animals there as well. Staff are very friendly and a gift shop on the way out for you to bring home.

Apparently there are tasting events here all the time. The cafe has a beautiful terrace with a huge garden, so it would be completely reasonable to get some food here and just sit outside for the afternoon. There's a half-price coupon for coffee in the free tourist magazine, you can pick it up at the counter and use it at the coffee shop right away. In the next room is an art gallery showing paintings and sculptures from local artists. We spent most of the afternoon here and then it was already time to go home!

Pick up from Adelaide was effortless. Only 45 minutes later we were sampling some great Shiraz at Angoves. All of the wineries were great. Just let Cook or Kerry (Mrs Chook) know what you like and they will take care of the rest. We had lunch at the Barn restaurant in the McLaren Vale township. It was included and the steak was great! I loved having a local gossip with the wine makers at Kangarilla estate too. It really felt like I was a world away from the hussle of Melbourne. Tasting wine from the barrel at Danshi was a lovely way to wrap up the day. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough or the wonderful hosts. Thanks. I will be back.

Ive , unfortunately had a few tours like this in the past. You could have just got a cab and/or drive yourself around. Then you don't have to deal with the wanky guide who only has his/her best "picks" (kick backs) on the books. Chook and Mrs chook are the real deal. They love the area, they won't you to love it as much as they do. And you will. Apart from adapting the tours to your preferences, they'll ensure you get the max from each cellar door. If it's a bit busy at the time, they'll head 2 min down the road to the next, then head back. The tour, Chook and Mrs Chook, and the wonderful staff at the wineries will ensure you experience the area to the fullest. I cannot recommend enough.

How I longed to escape my familiar surroundings and frolic along the Mississippi river and relieve those book characters. I had the same surreal feeling when we visited Goolwa and spotted a handsome steamboat at the Goolwa Wharf. Although it wasn't operating as we dropped in on a non operating day, I was told by the Visitor Information Centre that this is the perfect cruise for family and little ones as the cruise tour was shorter compared to the others. $48 for a family of 4 is a bargain for an hour or 1.5 hour cruise along the River Port of Goolwa, barrage and under the Hindmarsh Island bridge. It's best to check their website for cruise dates. Bring a hat, splash some sunscreen and perhaps a cigar and relive those Tom Sawyer and Finn days!

The Victor Harbor Beachfront Caravan Park is my home away from home, I have a permanent van down…read morethere. The park is situated RIGHT on the beach at Victor, scattered with shady trees, and has a good mix of spots for camping, van spaces, permanents and cabins. An overhaul in the past year has seen toilet and shower facilities upgraded, a huge bouncy pillow for the kids to play on, a pool, a series of new cabins put in with ensuite facilites, and two new camp kitchens for campers to utilise. Sites can be hard to get if you haven't booked well ahead for Christmas, Easter, and the big long weekends, but if they can fit you in, they will. Victor Harbor itself is a lovely little town, with great food options, penguins and a scenic 'granite' island, lots of lovely nature walks, and whale watching nearby in the season. There's a posted rate on a board out the front for the cabins, subject to availability, if you happen to be at Victor looking for accomodation, it's well worth checking to see if you can save a few bucks.
