I can't possibly imagine (without a certain head start) how it is that there might be a costume…read moreshop happening in the shadows of the West 7th corridor, but here we were, just ambling by, when it was brought to my attention that 'hey, there's a full-on costume shop there!' Don't hold me to the quotes, but you get the general idea. It's a pretty simple arrangement at Harris, where they've been plying their trade in one way or another for something in the area of 63 years (I think that actually may be the real figure), and they're pretty savvy when it comes to helping you sort what you're after. At some point there was a fire, and we'll assume for the sake of argument that it was bad, as this business doesn't exist in those environs any longer. But nowadays they bring the rental side just fine (mental note: there are tons of hats), and the sales side is pretty fun too (if you're in the market for a feather boa they have you wrangled). No time to dig super deep stem to stern today, but quite impressed by all I found in the near term. Here's hoping you find what suits you directly.

You're not going to find cute little costumes in here. What you will find are some hard-core realistic and high quality items that are not cheap that can make you look really good. For example, if you want to look like one of the creatures from the movie predator, they have an absolutely fantastic mask for it. The owner is trying to specialize in a niche market that is higher quality, higher cost nicer gear that will last many years and cater toward those who want to delve into a bit of creepy fun. Picked up a costume and it was too big when I got it home so came back to exchange/refund. Wow was the owner very much unhappy and very rude at this point. If I have issue with one of the other stores they don't give any trouble. If they don't want returns they should post a sign and should certainly not verbally be rude. You usually pay higher prices for good customer service not worse.

The Westside location seems to have more of a variety. There's a lot of empty space but, the store appeared to be clean. Spirit Halloween associates have cute uniforms. They wear bright purple aprons. It's cute, makes you wanna get one for yourself. Lol. Honestly, I think, they should wear a different costume everyday until Halloween to advertise their costumes. I would have a greeter stand outside, wear a costume and give out candy. It's just a suggestion. Spirit Employees are very nice and willing to help. They even posed for the camera. See my pic. With Halloween right around the corner, I've never seen so many costumes for toddlers to oversize adults! With every accessory that you might need plus candy ! I literally could not decide what to take pictures of because there was so much!! Every employee was busy, friendly, very helpful and full of smiles and laughter. Party City is well lit, clean, convenient, with lots of parking. There are plenty of spots for the disabled to park in front of store. My bestie and I spent probably an hour and a half in there just looking at costumes and browsing. WOW At check out, we were greeted and waited on by three super sweet ladies. So I decided right then it was time for a Yelp Review! ! So I could brag about how nice the store was and how great the ladies were with our overall experience. Some items seemed overpriced, but maybe that's just how Halloween is. But GREAT COSTUMES!!
