Splash Soho is a great barber in central London, mainly down to the price, £17 for a haircut and beard trim is the lowest I've found anywhere in central London by some distance too, with many other barbers I was looking at prior to here charging at least £30. This is their Soho Brewer Street location, which is close to Leicester Square. As well as offering hair services, they do offer many services here, including laser hair removal and some NHS services. It is fully unisex. I did find the website to be very in your face, with music from the website and so much going on, it felt like one of those websites you get from a pop-up in an email, luckily the online booking system was a bit better, although it did automatically direct me to the following day, I did not realise that I was booking for a different day, luckily when I turned up, they were still able to sit me down and get my haircut done pretty quickly. All the staff seemed friendly and nice, including my barber, we had a nice chat about his home in Madrid. I liked how he paid attention and extra care to meet my needs, even offering recommendations such as products that could be used on my hair They did have cool little screens on each mirror, broadcasting the news, they weren't too practical due to the size, and obviously, it can be hard to concentrate to watch something with a barber doing things to your hair. 4* - I would return here for sure if you want a cut in central London you really can't argue with the price, it makes me feel how lucky I am to be from Manchester where the same price-tag would get me a slightly more premium-feeling experience. read more

Waited for 40mins for an appointment. Finally got a haircut, then waited 30 minutes for a blow-dry. I was accommodating, made no complaints, assured the stylist it was ok as "it happens." While my hair was still wet, the salon manager, Victoria, asked me to leave. At that point, she began accusing me of wrong booking -- wash&dry rather than wash,cut&dry, despite the stylist already cut my hair. More likely such an error would be on the salon's part, as customers typically know what they want at the time of booking. Victoria was very intimidating; her face came uncomfortably close while talking to me; her spit even flew onto my face, she saw it, but no apology. She interrupted me when I tried to call to customer services and claimed she's the manager of all Splash salons, so she'd deal with me. She stopped me when I tried to discuss resolution with the stylist's assistant & forbade me from discussing with any of "her employees." First time I've ever written a review. This used to be THE place to go in Soho for a quick walk-in mens haircut but it's been going downhill for years. You're better off avoiding it. It would appear the staff just don't care anymore. Today, the wait was well over an hour despite 6 stylists working and 6 people in the queue. I appreciate things take time - but the wait was exacerbated by other members of staff walking in with pints of beer and taking them downstairs. The stylist nearest the door was also serving his mates who 'popped their head in' on the off chance. If they had booked an appointment they certainly didn't check-in at the desk. That's a lovely 2 fingers up to the rest of us who are waiting patiently. Onto the haircut. A simple short back and sides with a bit off the top. Barbershop 101. Only it wasn't. The 'stylist' took what felt like an age to shave the sides. At first I thought it was because he was paying meticulous attention to detail but I suspect it's because he was out of his depth or probably not even qualified. Having asked him to shave the sides, he then told me he was going to cut them. I asked him to shave - he insisted on cutting. These are now lop sided. When it came to 'taking a bit off the top' I've ended up with an uneven hair cut with it thinner at the back (where he started cutting from) and longer at the front. When he held up the mirror to show me the back there was a massive bit sticking out at the side where it had been cut unevenly. I asked him to correct that (as it looked like Donald Duck's tail) but he just shrugged and glared back at me. When I politely insisted I wanted it corrected, he got to work with the scissors and shortly after declared he was finished. I had to ask to see the back and to my horror I've been left with a bald patch. It wasn't there before and it's now added a third level of unevenness to the back of my hair. I pointed this out and asked him if one of his clearly qualified colleagues would take a look. Instead he just shrugged and stared. I realised the game was up. He didn't care and I'm out of pocket and left looking like a t**t. I will have to go and get it fixed elsewhere. Save your money and find a better hair salon. There are plenty of others around and they don't cost the earth. read more

I came for a haircut and the barber did not cut my hair properly. I finished the cut and had to ask the manager to get another barber to cut my hair. I got home and saw that I had a an allergic reaction on the back of my scalp (I went to boots and a pharmacist confirmed this) to which the receptionist at splash in Brewer St dismissed me, stating that it's not the salon's fault. I came today on 25/06/22 to tell them this, at 11:00am, and the lady was not helpful at all, did not offer any compensation on my next visit to encourage me to come back. Overall, after visiting splash salons for my haircut many times, I feel like I will not visit again based on this bad experience, from the barber and from the customer service side. read more

I know some people who thought that the stylists do a mediocre job; but I still think you get the bang for your buck here and the fact that it's so centrally located ensures that you can get a drink after a quick haircut. At less than a third of the service charge at a Toni & Guy's, I think this is well worth trying. They're not going to win any hairdressing awards (I imagine, I can't say that I'm terribly au fait with such things), and I went elsewhere when I had my pre-wedding haircut, but if you need a quick trim before the weekend, it's ideal. Walked in during one of the most busiest days, one day before NYE. Alfredo was great in advising me, as well as being friendly and giving me a great hair cut. From long to short hair curly hair, he really gave me a great new look for only £16 and 30 minutes of my time. This included washing, cutting, and styling my hair. Small downside: The place was crowded, and the environment could be more tidy. However, the service was excellent, especially for that price. What I do mind is not being greeted and being left like an idiot in the middle of the store, with absolutely nobody paying me any kind of attention. I recommend Splash! Men's prices are: clippers only - £7; clippers and scissors - £9; scissors only - £12. I had no wait either! I had Alma cut my hair. She was very kind and talented, although a bit hard to understand. She did a great job with my hair, and even took the time to coach me on how to best use hair product to make my do look awesome. I will go back to her every time. She started with clippers and finished with scissors, so it was just £9. £1 left for a tip made the whole experience just a tenner. I had to give it just four stars instead of five because my seat was not very clean and it was a bit difficult to convey how I wanted my hair cut at first. read more

I wish I knew about Splash Soho when I first moved to London. I went to a different Salon and haven't had a haircut my whole stay because is was so bad. Since I am leaving I needed to get a haircut and stumbled upon the reviews for Splash Soho. I must say that when I come back this will be my spot for my haircut every time! I had Tsegi and she just knew what to do. I explained how I styled it and how short I usually wear it. I didn't need to tell her not to use clippers like the last Salon. Tsegi was amazing! She went to work on my hair!! I haven't enjoyed a haircut since I left my stylist at home. So thank you Tsegi for your great cut and I will recommend Splash Soho to all of my friends!! read more

The second I entered, I was told where to go and who to speak too, within 5 minutes, my hair was washed and being cut. To my luck was Splash open, which I seen before but never trusted to go in, but to my surprise were the 3 people of Splash really helpful and convenient when it come my Man's Haircut. I have had the displeasure of buying a Groupon voucher for eyelash extensions for Splash. What a horrendous experience this has been. Firstly thanks for handing me a paper cup and my bottle of water, great service to start with. The nightmare begins. No help with bags or coat, just watched as I reached over and did it myself. I don't know why it bothers me, but the salon gives the impression that they are about full service and comfort. I found that this was lacking in the smallest gestures - offering to help hang up a jacket is just about good manners in the end. I get my lashes done all the time and I have NEVER had anyone touch the rest of my face. She pretty much used my face as a leaning post or rest for her hands. Which were hot. The woman who did my lashes had hot hands. Then they turned cold and as they turned cold, I realised just how sweaty they were. And not to mention, sweaty all over my face. Disgusting. I had to wash my face afterwards, but the whole time, I was thinking - 'warmth and moisture on hands breed bacteria and disease and it's getting rubbed all over my face'. But you can't complain when someone has sharp instruments near your eyes, can you? And it seems she was uncomfortable - lots of sighing and leaning back and stretching.She kept scraping her tweezers together, like she was sharpening knives. Over and over after each time she did around 3 lashes. Then the yanking of my eyelashes. I actually jerked my body and made a sound from shock a couple of times but there was no apology or 'are you ok?' from her lips. Just happened a few more times. At this point, I'm thinking, I should get up and go, but to leave with half-done eyelashes seemed disastrous. Well after that, I thought the lashes would look nice. NO. They said 80% would be done - I've had eyelash extensions done plenty of times. This was 50-60% if I were to be generous about the evaluation. I have photos of the finished product is anyone wants. The lashes look the same as when I'm well OVERdue for an infill. A few are even pointing down to my eye instead of curling up. She used so much glue, the lashes are brittle feeling and each lash looks clumpy. Gappy and disgusting, I have to get the fixed. Except she used so much glue, I'm told I need to wait for them to naturally fall off. Thanks for nothing, I'll be seeking a refund from Groupon. read more

I have had the worst hair cut experience of my life here. Avoid this place like the bloody plague. The man who did my hair was one of the rudest and worst customer service experiences I had in my life. First people gave me different prices and they were disorganized at the front. Then the guy who did my hair was so rude, he was so rough with my hair and scalp first of all, and bearly taking in what I wanted done. I'm quietly reading as he works on my hair then said to me "You're not very nice or friendly, are you?". Excuse me sir, but you did not try to make conversation with me at all, actually - you were actively dismissing me when I told you what I wanted and now you're saying I'm not very nice while I'm quietly reading a book while you do my hair. What the eff else am I suppose to do in a busy salon? And insulting your customers isn't the greatest way to go about your business. Then the price they gave me at the beginning was not the one they ended up making me pay in the end. F this guy and f this place. I have never felt so insulted when I'm paying lots of money for my hair. I hope you lose business from this review because this place effing deserves it. read more
