This is the perfect restaurant to have a fancy meal or a girl's brunch! Whenever I come across any restaurant known for its views or ambiance, the food is often subpar so I didn't have high expectations coming here. But wow did that change my mind!! The margherita flatbread was a table favorite and approved by my Italian friends. We also loved the alaskan halibut tacos & crispy chicken sandwich. The portions were big enough to share or eat individually so it felt worth the price. As a party of 8, we honestly had a great experience with our food, service, and waterfront seating. The staff were not quick to rush us while we celebrated my friend's birthday with a cake and pictures, so that was very much appreciated. I would absolutely come back for my birthday or any special occasion! Some things to note: - $10 valet parking with validation but there's plenty of metered street parking out front - 20% service charge automatically added to the bill

I booked this restaurant for an early Mother's Day celebration, and my mother was very pleased. First, the views this restaurant sits right by the coast beachfront and has amazing views. Secondly, the service and wait staff is impeccable. We received great recommendations, attentiveness, professionalism, and hospitality. We never had to ask for anything because our needs were anticipated. Lastly, the food, we ordered several different things. The lobster bisque, Parkhouse rolls, octopus, the special of the day, which was tuna Hamachi. We also ordered the scallops, mushrooms, green beans, mashed potatoes and sea bass. The items that stood out the most were the lobster bisque. the Parkhouse rolls, the Seabass, the scallops and the Hamachi tuna. I was taken back that the octopus was fried and it was tough and had an interesting flavor. I'm used to octopus legs being grilled and tender, so I was quite disappointed with that. We also ordered a couple of cocktails that we weren't thrilled about. The flavors didn't work well together in the drink, but I did like how the glasses were ice cold I just wish the cocktails were more impressive. I feel like that's the gift and the curse. When you have a restaurant that is oceanfront. Typically oceanfront restaurants their food isn't that great because it doesn't have to be because of the ambience. The only place I've ever been where they had the oceanfront location and the food was amazing was Nobu Malibu specifically. I wouldn't mind coming back here for some light bites like I mentioned the lobster bisque and the rolls were tasty. Everything else was good, but not great for the price point.

Came here for lunch and absolutely recommend Splashes. The restaurant itself is on a lower level near the pool, but the ambiance is fresh and crisp, the service is solid, and the food was fantastic. I has the king salmon as well as the fish tacos and it was delicious. Ask for a spot next to the window for the best glass window ocean views.

Fantastic dinner to celebrate several special occasions while visiting from Northern California. They had a team service our table so we felt taken care of with prompt service. We also received complimentary Champaign and desert to celebrate our engagement which was above and beyond expected. It is very expensive and I feel like it's only justified because of the ocean front dining experience. If you are at the bar or further inside the restaurant, you could find equal quality food at a lower price point elsewhere.

We wanted to try the newly renovated Splashes Restaurant for ourselves. I'm giving it three stars because the ambiance is five stars, but the food is really one star. Our waiter was excellent and deserves five stars, while the manager gets one star, so I guess it averages out to three stars. I didn't read the reviews beforehand because I wanted to judge it for myself, but I agree with many other Yelp reviewers that the food just isn't very good. After lunch, I realized for myself that the food wasn't that good, and several other Yelpers mentioned that dinner was mediocre as well. This feels more like a place to come for a drink, relax, and enjoy the beach view. The reason I'm giving the manager one star is because I wanted to host my birthday dinner there - this was before lunch was served and reading reviews. The waiter suggested I request Table 33, which is in a beautiful area, but when I spoke with the manager, he refused to reserve it even though my dinner is still two months away. I don't know how they do business, but this doesn't seem like the right way to handle a customer request. If I come back--and I probably will, because the setting is beautiful--I'd likely order a small hors d'oeuvre and a drink.

We had such a wonderful experience at Splashes and can absolutely see why it has so many five-star reviews. A quick tip before you go: parking is either available on the street (if you're lucky enough to find a spot) or through valet for $15. The restaurant is located inside the hotel, and once you enter you'll take the elevator down to Level 1, where you'll be greeted with beautiful ocean views. We had a reservation and were seated very quickly. While we waited for our table to be cleared, Ava, our host, was so sweet and personable. She took the time to chat with us, shared some of her favorite menu recommendations, and when she noticed us unsuccessfully trying to take a selfie overlooking the water, she kindly offered to take a photo for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout dinner, Jesse was assisting our table, and he was fantastic. He always seemed to appear at just the right time without ever feeling intrusive. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. Our main server, Carson, was equally amazing. He was welcoming from the moment we sat down, incredibly attentive, and you could tell he genuinely cared about providing a great dining experience. His recommendations were spot on, he checked in on us regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever rushing us. The food was excellent. I absolutely loved the burrata salad, and my husband ordered the lobster bisque. At first, he thought the portion might be on the smaller side, but between the bisque and the bread, he ended up completely satisfied. Speaking of the bread--don't skip it! The butter, made with grass-fed cream, was absolutely incredible and made the appetizer even more memorable. Overall, Splashes exceeded our expectations. From the warm hospitality to the attentive service and delicious food, every part of the experience was exceptional. It truly deserves all of its five-star reviews. A huge thank you to Carson, Jesse, and Ava for making our evening so memorable. No notes, just a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

Went there for our anniversary celebration. My wife said the spatchcock chicken was the best she ever had. Our server, Jhoana, was attentive and very efficient. A few able overlooking the ocean was exceptional. Strongly recommend.

Our server was super nice & she even took our vacation photos next to the ocean!! Not only was the view great, but our food/dessert was delicious! Will definitely be back

With recommendation from two friends (one being a local), we ended up getting a spot for late breakfast. All other times were not available. The day of visit, severe storm warning was issued so all the doors were closed, all the umbrellas were folded and getting ready for the storm. The views were amazing. Almost right over the water. The name Splashes definitely fits it. For breakfast, menu was simple and nothing really stood out. Short rib skillet anyone? I was expecting to pay more for the views but wasn't too exuberant . My drink wasn't good. Definitely needed a money back. Felt like it was diluted. Presentation was C rated and also glass had some juice that was spilled. Should have been wiped before serving. The restaurant of this caliber and price on high side, definitely needed an improvement. When one goes wrong, all else will look not as good as you had hope for. My lox with everything bagel was good. Service was ok. For the views, I will be back.

This place offers the best views on Laguna beach with the waves crashing against the restaurant! Absolutely stunning views from an oceanfront table around sunset! They serve amazing cocktails and just the venue makes it worth your while. The service is friendly and attentive. The hostess was particularly nice and moved me to a better table when I complained of the harsh sun directly hitting my seat. I decided to stay beyond the one cocktail I had planned for just because I was in love with the atmosphere there. Ordered some food from the bar menu - margarita flatbread, truffle fries and their halibut tacos. The food was great too - especially loved the flatbread. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to SoCal.

Poke Nachos and Cheese board - Both were delicious.
    Jasmin O.

I had a good overall experience. The food was delicious and the cheese board was especially flavorful and well put together. I'm a big fan of craft cocktails and have tried drinks at many different restaurants, so I had high expectations. While the drinks were okay, they didn't quite stand out to me, some of the flavors were a bit unusual and not really to my taste. We were seated near the bar area, which offered a great view and added to the atmosphere. Our server seemed to be handling a very busy section, so although he wasn't very attentive, it was clear he was doing his best under the circumstances. As a result, it sometimes took a while to get his attention. Despite that, the outstanding food made for an enjoyable dining experience overall.

My wife and I went for our Anniversary dinner on 8/4/2026. Our dinner was fantastic. The staff was so attentive and made our experience one to remember. Thanks again to Patrick (our server) and Ana who made an amazing Anniversary card for us. So very thoughtful. Not enough superlatives to describe our experience. Todd R.

WAVE AFTER WAVE PLEASE COME CRASH INTO ME... SPLASHES Restaurant, Laguna Beach, California! This is one of my Husband's and my Favorite Date Spots! I don't know of another location in Laguna, where you are so close to the Ocean! It's a Wonderful place to Wine & Dine, Beachside, and have the Waves literally come Crash & Splash into you! We LOVE their Fantastic Weekend Brunch. They have their lovely main SPLASHES Restaurant that opens for Breakfast Daily, bright and early at 7 am and have a separate intimate SPLASHES BAR, on the Beach, which opens at 11 am - 9 pm! Their Crab Benedict ($33) is Absolutely Delicious! And their Grass Fed CheeseBurger ($32) is Legit & Tasty too! Be prepared to spend some dough because you're gonna wanna stay for a while! The service is Always Friendly & Fabulous! The Surf & Sand Resort has valet parking, and I hear the restaurant validates your parking, but we have always been able to find street parking. I Highly Recommend this Ahh~Mazing Beachfront Date Hot Spot! :)

Ask the Community - Splashes Restaurant

Is this place kid (toddler) friendly?

Maybe for breakfast or lunch, but not for dinner

Will it take a reservation for next month?

Yes. They take reses in advance

    How much is the corkage?

It was $30 eight months ago.

    Do you offer gift cards?

    Yes

Do you serve gluten-free bread/toast thank you?

Gluten-free bread and there are other options as well

Do wait staff and cooks wear masks and if not, are they vaccinated? Thank you.

Don't know about cooks because can't see them but some of the wait staff wear masks and some didn't from what I remember.

I have an onion and garlic (allium) allergy. Is it easy to modify your dishes with this? No onion, chives, scallions, garlic.

Many dishes are precomposed with certain ingredients and so that may be difficult, but there are great options if need be.

Do you guys allow private events?

    Yes

    Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?

The interior of the restaurant on the same level of the host stand is wheelchair accessible however I believe certain exterior patio seating does require some stairs that do not make it as wheelchair friendly unfortunately

What floor/area and table has the best view?

There is a top dining area with limited seating right in front of the window with beach view, then there are tables behind it (with blocked view of beach because others would be sitting in front of you). We sat down stairs at the bar, there are…

    Are there vegan options?

I am a vegetarian and they do have vegan and vegetarian options. You can also substitute meat items for veggie options! They try to accommodate everybody's needs for sure!

Does anyone know if they host smallish wedding receptions for like 50 folks ( 2021 summer )?

Truthfully , I'm not sure if they are taking reservations. I'd highly suggest you speak to the GM who can further assist you with your event . I think the location would be perfect for a small wedding. The view is so picturesque & amazing..…

Open to public or only hotel guest?

This is open to the public, however reservations are required. The entrance is in the hotel. You can use the hotel parking.

Can you make a reservation even if you are not staying at the hotel? Their website is confusing me as I've seen some reviews saying some people just walked in (didn't stay at hotel either)

Yes- you can make reservations through Open Table

Are there ocean views and patio seating?

Yes! Amazing ocean views and patio seating outside.

    Is there a kids menu?

    Yes.

Do they have a parking lot or is parking tough?

There’s valet parking in front at the hotel

    How's the parking?

It's a free valet parking at the hotel entrance.

Are well behaved small dogs allowed?

    Sorry don't know

Do they have a private dining area for small groups (10-20 people)? Thanks!

No they do not have a private dining area, as the restaurant is not that large. They do arrange multiple tables together to accommodate large groups.
