But, those additional three stars consumed by the extremely high cost (I've started putting light and darks in the same machine to save money and it shows in the lighter clothing), and the fact that help is non-existent unless you speak Spanish. Would add a half star for clean and modern facilities but that $$$ and a lack of ATM and their proprietary card machine lacks a credit/debit card reader so these issues keeps me from calling splish splash a 4. If splish splash simply lowers the price on the washers or put in cc/debit options on the card machine, I will add stars as it happens. Pros: many well maintained machines, 2, 4, 6, 8 load machines and dryers to handle any load: jackets, comforters, loads of towels get clean and dry. Televisions. Clean. Good staff. Fast machines. Cons: proprietary card machines that don't take credit and debit cards. No ATM. Expensive. Supplies are also expensive. Limited parking. Err.. Hmm, back to this review. I've been having a secret affair with this Laundromat for about a year now; cheating on my usual place in Clifton that I had been going to since 1997 (gasp). The place in Clifton is still just as good as always, but now that I live in Glen Ridge, its a bit of a hassle. I love the drop off service at Splish Splash Laundromat, they open really early, so I am able to drop off on my way to work and pick up freshly washed and folded laundry on my way back from work. They accept credit cards which is a plus, especially when I forget to pick up cash at the ATM. Staff is very friendly, the place is spotless and they use quality detergents. If all that is not enough, I did the calculations and it costs me as much to do my own laundry myself, well that and the mental abuse I put myself through. So I might as well let the Pros do it..... Pros: clean environment, ability to do large quantities for a reasonable price, laundry card rather than using coins, enough seating and space so you don't feel smothered. Owner showed me how to set up my first card and how to use the machine. Cons: The "lovley" attendant had an attitude the moment I went to the counter to tell her one of the machines was not working. She then had an attitude when I asked for change. I asked her who the manager was and she proceeded to tell me "I don't know" even though I knew exactly who it was. You can really lose customers based on a lack of professionalism. If you don't like where you work, please quit. You should be more grateful you have a job during a pandemic. The facility is big and clean. However there is no ATM machine so come ready with cash and come ready to buy a card to put money on - THE MACHINES DO NOT TAKE COINS. The medium washing machine is 2.99 the bigger ones are 4.99. DRyers are good. There's only street parking at meters. They are open till 10pm. read more

I come here weekly to do full service laundry and have never been more pleased. I drive a little bit out of the way just to come here. SERVICE: Great! I pay $1/pound and go early in the morning. My clothes are ready by 5:00 PM and nicely folded and pressed so it makes it easy to put away into my dresser. A clean establishment which is important for a laundromat/laundry service place. Pros: The place is super clean. I'm watching 2 women clean the machines as we speak. It's pretty big, and there are a ton of machines to use. Parking in the back. Cons: My biggest complaint is that they require you to use their proprietary card with their washers. That's fine, but the machine to put money on the card only accepts cash, and there is no ATM. To make it worse. I asked the woman at the counter where an ATM was near, and she looked at me like I was nuts. It's friggen hot in here. I had been coming here on a weekly basis without issue, and liked that the facility was clean and had plenty of machines. However, after being called a liar by management, I will not be going back. One of the machines ate my money without updating my laundry card balance. When I politely brought this to the attention of the attendant, she proceeded to call their manager. After hanging up, she told me that the manager checked their security video and that I did not put money into the machine! I asked to see that security footage, but couldn't...because the manager refused to come out to speak with me directly, and did not bother to even inspect the machine before calling me a liar. If these machines ever have a bad day, know that management will not investigate before they decide to call you a liar...even if it is only for one dollar. Whereas this is hands-down the cleanest laundromat in the area and I have been going there for the nearly 10 years I have lived in Bloomfield, for some reason the climate and Temperature Control in the laundromat is ridiculous and very hot. You add in the hot air coming off of the driveways in addition to the lack of air condition provided and it is very uncomfortable and usually becomes a question of whether you should stand there and need to shower because your folding your clothes. Yesterday it was literally record heat temperatures in Bloomfield and Newark and it was so hot inside of the laundromat we had to leave. Everyone there was uncomfortable including the attendants working, so it became a question of whether they are even permitted to put it lower? And why not? read more

I walked in to do my laundry on a Friday evening and it's around 85° out inside the Stabley Schomann where I'm going to wash my clothes they have washing machines and dryers going on 24/7 so I would think they would have the air conditioner on just to chill the place out a little more. It's took me about 2 to 3 minutes from taking my clothes out of the bag and putting them in to the machines and started down pouring sweat. read more

The women who takes our clothes on Saturday morning is nice and pleasant . But when we pick up our clothes in Sunday. The Asian woman that works there is out of her mind!!!!! Wish I can give this place 0 stars. I've been coming here for the past years and have remained a loyal customer despite the flaws in this place. I came here 15 minutes past 630 and woman who works here said that there is a sign on the door saying the last wash is at 630. The laundromat closes at 8pm. So I said fine but my laundry is already in the washer And I already poured the detergent in the machine. She made me take all my clothes out ..YES She did! Ok fine.. I asked to please speak to a manager because I would like my money refunded. She proceeds to call me crazy and ignores me and states that I didn't read the sign in the front. I understand no one speaks English here but how is there no manager or owner to respond to issues at their business. Terrible place!! Everything is always so clean and neatly folded; the staff are also super efficient and willing to work with you to speed up your order if needed.
