They have a great selection. They close all the time and do not let the customers know on their website. Very frustrating. I have driven out there multiple times when they say they are open, but when I get there, there's a sign on the door that they are closed. I was referred to Sport Stan from my uncle who played baseball when he was younger. He said that he would always see Stan. I was in the area and in search for a baseball bat for my son. After trying a couple bats, his coach suggested one that I had a difficult time finding at other stores near me. Stan ended up having it in stock and had multiples. His supply was really great. We ended up buying the bat, grip, and some weighted balls. He also offered military discount which was awesome. Located right behind the okinawan center, there is lots of parking and the store is a decent size. After talking with Stan I learned that he is a one man show. No employees. #3 for 2020 Personable, quaint baseball and softball shop located in Waipio Gentry. First time last year, we're in need of finding a bat and pair of cleats prior to our son's t-ball season. We vividly recall meeting Owner's wife and she allowed my husband and son to test two different bats and see which one my son will feel most comfortable with outside of the shop. While I was inside the shop having a conversation with her, she observed and mentioned a positive comment about my husband played baseball before. I responded, "Yes, when he was young." Our son chose a bat that he felt comfortable with and loves using it for practices and games. We also decided to purchase cleats because we found a pair that fit just right and would allow our son to grow in it one more year. Second time this year, my husband and son arrived, found new cleats for our son's growing feet, just in time for baseball season. Our son is very happy with his new cleats. read more

Thank you Yelp! We stopped by here for help getting a glove for our daughter. Stan showed us which glove to get, how to put her hand in the glove, and how to close her fingers to close the glove. He then showed her the finger movement to close the glove again while we were paying so she can practice and build up her hand/finger muscles. Stopped by looking for a new bat for my 9yr for his birthday. Stan took the time to size him up for the right bat. My son got to swing ea bat in the parking lot and found one that he liked. I called Sport Stan today (Thursday) and left a message knowing the store is closed. To my surprise I received a call from Stan himself less than an hour later! In my message I had let him know that I am looking for a set of youth catcher's leg guards for the team gear - not high end...not a very big sale. Stan was very courteous and polite when he informed me that he did not have these in stock and he even went on to thank me for thinking of his shop. Very poor management.. My family drove to this store only to have a sign posted on the outside saying it was closed. There is nothing on the website stating that they will be closed for the holidays. In fact, their website says that it is open today from 3:30-8:00. Wasted our time and gas driving down there. Bad first impression. Once Sports Authority went out of business, it's been hard to find baseball or softball equipment on island.
