I was just over the 30 day return for a gift I had gotten, had tags and receipts for it. I just wanted in a bigger size, I really like the jacket. I'm a new mom and finally got a chance to get to Bozeman to try and do this. They were quite rude and didn't want to listen to anything I had to say. I remember Sportsman's warehouse being a lovely place to go, polite employees and there were always very understanding. I bought an elk bugle tube to replace one that I lost. Ended up finding mine, so I tried to return the unopened bugle tube the same day. They would not take it back because they have a no return policy in "mouth calls" even if the packing has never been opened. I love Bob Wards, but they were out of bugle tubes. I will ONLY go to sportsman's if I can't find what I need elsewhere. We went in looking for Hydro flasks. The store was clean, organized and full of knowledgable and informed workers. We enjoyed our experience. We found exactly what we were looking for. the flask I selected had a little dent in it. When I mentioned this to the clerk he discounted it for me. Awesome!!! If you're in a pinch they may have what you need. However if you have any problems with ANY items after 30days. They won't even consider being very helpful, simply put a Distributor for the items they sell past that service is zero. I've purchased a few items in the past 9 months here, 2 of which simply quit working their response was "items that old..." This town is too small to treat locals who aren't just here for a weekend trip so poorly, we're here year around and help maintain the community in off seasons. Bought a battery coat without the battery, decided that night it was a hassle to get a battery, found a better coat at Murdochs, cheaper. Went to return the coat (not even 24 hours later) and they argued with me about it not having a battery, they almost didn't return it but I pulled 4 coats off the rack with no battery. Made a mistake shopping here will continue to go to Murdochs from here on out. Maybe if they were polite and didn't make me feel like a criminal they could have gotten two stars. read more

The gun department representative was extremely rude, said their product wouldn't fit the gun, and said I should go to another vendor. It turns out the base he said wouldn't work was in fact OK. This would rate as one of my worst customer experiences ever. I definitely won't shop in that department again!! read more

This place is an all you need sporting store from camping supplies to clothes. It's extremely busy which makes sense cause they have high quality items for reasonable price and they are close to Yellowstone. Which is why I went there to get items that I couldn't find at the REI next door. They are also dog friendly which is a reason why I'm going to have to see if there is one close to where i live. read more

Last week my daughter bought a camp stove and decided same day to return it because she changed her mind. It was still in the box and receipt in hand and they refused to take the return even though it was pointed out to the clerk that there are instructions for returns right on the receipt. My daughter was told - Well those are our old receipts. We don't take returns. How incredibly disappointing. zero stars if i could. bought a set of waders and they did not fit. went to exchange them and they want to charge me $20 for the exchange and wont explain why. They said i had to wait until my money was refunded and re-buy. Still waiting for my refund after 6 days Called today and was treated poorly by the customer service rep. They have an ok selection of gun gear but we're lacking some common cartridges like .300 wm. Their ammo is also way more expensive than Murdochs. Gun counter is usually staffed by grumpy old men that seem unhappy to be there. I'll go if I'm close but Murdochs and Bob Ward's are right there in town too. read more

In August 27, 2023, went to sports mans in Bozeman to get a new scope and rifle bore sighted. Got to clean rifle bolt would not disengage. Went to a gun smith and watched as he dismantled the scope , went thru the bottom of rifle and removed the rigger assembly. the bolts used to install rail for scope are supposed to be metric, they were not. Bolts were put in wrong, a long bolt was put in where a short bolt as to be used, thus stopping the bolt from cycling. Scope was mounted using non metric bolts, scope cross hairs were not in aligne with target cross hairs. Trigger bolts were all loose. Bore sight was way off. It was a $59. and some change lesson for me. Cost to fix was $40 bucks. Gun Smith said all these problems were a very common occurrence. I learned a good lesson, always check your work when doing something for a customer. I will now go to a gun smith not a sportsmans ware house so called gun smith. I broke my number one rule, always check another person work. read more

Great place for fishing supplies. I love this place. I don't know where to start but let's start with the staff. Everyone in the fishing department is extremely helpful. Whether you are buying fishing poles, reels, tackle, wet dry, dry fly, or spinning in the river or lake. They always have tips and are very useful. Even if you try to keep to yourself ignoring the staff they will seek you out and ask if you need help. The fly fishing pole and reel collection is good. Selection includes everything for the novice to the expert. Spinning tackle selection is excellent and spans a few rows. Fly selection is good (although some popular ones were running low or were sold out) and the prices are reasonable. Just got a couple dozen flies for the road. Maybe one day I should learn how to tie my own but I would miss all these nice people read more

If you want or need it for the outdoors, Sportsman's Warehouse has it, except for most ammunition (but that's an entirely different fake hyped-up nonsense conspiracy by ammo manufactures to scare up costs while restricting supply). So it had been a year or more since I was here last. Apparently the place shut down and then reopened. Glad they did. I find their prices competitive and their employees friendly. I like the wide array or selection from fishing to hunting to rafting to camping to beef jerky. Lots of jerky. This is my first stop before REi or other expensive fly shops. read more

Stopped in tonight to purchase a gun safe that I had looked at earlier in the day. It just so happens that when I came back to purchase, it was 15 minutes until closing. This shouldn't really matter as the available safes are all floor models (and it was less than 100 pounds). When I approached the salesman at the gun counter - who was reading a magazine - he was not willing to assist and claimed that he didn't have any help and I'd have to come back another time. On my way out, I passed at least 6 other employees that were not assisting anyone. This was upsetting. received a headlamp for Christmas in 2013 from my daughter her first job and she was so excited to give it to me, a week of use and the headlamp fell apart, both head strap and light. brought it back with her receipt and Olivia was horrific and told me there was nothing she could do and i was sol. i asked for a manager who said i could swap it out for another/other headlamp of my choice. i picked out another american made light and went back to Olivia with the light. she snobbishly with a major attitude rang me up, being ex military i showed her my ID since i have gotten a discount since the store opened she said it was not valid since i was not active and told me the amount without discount. i reluctant paid and left the store very upset.
