The beer is typical craft beer with an excellent variety of brews. On the other hand, the food we had was awesome!

Stopped in around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and was met with friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The attendant, Micah, greeted me and directed me towards one of their umbrella tables outside, and handed me a menu. (Outside dining only at this time) From an interesting list of beers I chose their "Amber Ale", 6.3% ABV. For my late lunch, I was trying to decide between their "Green Chile Cheeseburger", or their "Swiss Champignon Burger". Micah suggested I could add green Chile to the Swiss Champignon Burger - so done deal. The Amber Ale was cold and refreshing and the umbrella provided nice shade. A pleasant breeze made for a very relaxed and comfortable setting. Within 10 minutes (and on my way to my second ale), my burger arrived. It was Ginormous! It was fresh off the grill and very hot. The addition of the green Chile proved to be an excellent choice - the burger was delicious! The beer battered fries were crispy and tasty (as beer battered fries should be). I stopped in last Saturday while on my drive back to Arizona. I had done some hiking in the Franklin Mountains in the morning and this brewery was only 26 miles away. I was hungry and thirsty and this place did not disappoint. I like German style beers and wheat-based beers and this brewery makes them, along with English and Scottish ales . I sat at the bar, ordered a flight and then had a Grande chicken burrito served over double fried fries. Everything was excellent! I had a seasonal Cerveza (5.4% ABV) with my meal. I also took advantage of the bucket of peanuts. While the front and side patios are dog friendly, I was parked in the spacious rear parking lot in the shade and kept my dogs napping in the car. I drink way too much beer and Ive tried many microbrews and I'd say that Spotted Dog is brewing some great beer. I've tried around 8 different styles and all have been excellent. They currently have 20 styles on tap. Highly recommended for beer lovers. The food choices are limited, though for a brew-pub it's not a paltry selection, and everything I've tried has been quite tasty. I was so bummed I didn't get to try this place the last time I was in Las Cruces, so I made sure to make a stop this time around. This place is small, quaint, and intimate. Had an amazing visit with Corie. Had great food and very good bear. We had a Nut Brown and a Milk stout (darks) and a cerveza and kolsch (lights) in a taster. All were very good and we settled for pint of the Nut Brown and the Cervza. The food was very tasty we shared a pair of sliders and an incredible pulled Pork Sandwich. The fries and onion rings disappeared, too quickly, and went perfectly with the meal. We were so happy with our meal that we wished that we could have also had the Cuban sandwich, maybe next time. This has become our "go-to" brewery while visiting Las Cruces. Parts of the menu get changed frequently, keeping things fresh for future visits. Service is always friendly and quick. The food comes out nice and hot. We really enjoy the green chili cheeseburger: the burger is juicy, hot, and full of flavor. The beers here are also good, with a nice variety. We like the Milk Stout. Dang, stumbled on great beer! On the road for 8 hours and we stumbled upon this brewery. The Prickly Beaver, brewed with prickly pear, is exceptional. My husband had both the ipa and the dry Irish stout, both he enjoyed, he did say that it is the best stout he's come across along his travels. We ordered two salmon and rice plates, a BB burger plate, beer, and some sides. First bite of rice and salmon yielded a frozen rice ball. Server said, "We pre-batch in the morning." I said, "...and then freeze it?" I suspect they use some frozen foods here because of this. The Black Bean burger had the taste of frozen as well but nevertheless it would not matter after having frozen rice ball like you get with packaged rice meals. The bun was good! The vibe was lively but not too loud except for a man we suspect was the owner talking to patrons he knew next to us. He talked so much and so loud the entire time we were there it made it slightly uncomfortable for our party to relax and pay attention to our conversation. The server took one salmon meal off the ticket which partially vindicated a star. Other than that, we spent $100 here and will not return. Especially after seeing the owners response to complaint to come back and try again and leave a new review. What we do in the event of an issue. We offer a full comp visit next time customers and guests come. Take the responsibility off of your guests and they WILL return to try again if you come. The Spotted Dog Brewery is a wonderful beer brewery and lunch place! My sister had the Brassy Grill Burger and I had the Green Chile Cheeseburger. They were perfectly cooked, delicious and juicy with the perfect amount of the condiments on them. They also have a great selection of beers ranging from light (my sister) to dark (me) and everything in between. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We highly recommend it. So this place. It comes highly recommended. I thought, oh hey, let's go check it out for date night. Also, this was my first time here. Well, the beer is cold and it's a pretty good IPA. When you finally get the food, it's good. But man, so I hate bad service. The wait staff seems nice, but I don't know. Seriously, don't serve food if your not going to be able to provide adequate wait staff to get the food out in an acceptable amount of time. The Lil lady was mad that we ordered appetizers, waited 30 min to order food, then got them both 20 minutes later at the same time. I try to get away from any chain places or any domestic beer whenever I go on vacation. This little spot is located right by the historic Mesilla village in town, and it seems to draw a lot of regulars on the daily. It's not a very large place inside, but there's plenty of parking in the big lot behind the building. Try a flight! They come with four tiny glasses of whatever you want to try. I think the red ale beer that they had was my favorite, as I asked for a pint of it when I tried my flight. The hefe on tap wasn't bad either; I liked the way it wasn't too hazy or strong. Guests are only allowed four beers per visit, so choose carefully. The lemon pepper wings are great for lunch here. I think you get six of them. With the ranch and the flavors that give it that zesty taste, you will want to keep having more. The onion rings here are also delicious. Some places overdo it with crispy stuff, but this place knows how to cook them just right. So wings and onion rings have to be my go to when I am here. Service is friendly, food is great, and it's a nice place to have a quick lunch or to hang out on a day off. The bar is shut down due to COVID, but I'm sure there will be tons of people going back to celebrate the end of the pandemic. Come bring your pets, enjoy a beer, and get some good food! read more
