It wasnt that noisey really considering. There's a Beefeater Inn right next door for breakfast and meals or just a drink. It was reasonably comfortable, the only slight niggle was the fact that the heating seemed whacked up high, but the weekend we were there was actually unseasonably warm for September.

We arrived at reception and our booking email was taken by the young lady at the desk, obviously busy on the 'phone. She didn't say a word until she had finished her conversation with a friend. She informed her friend that she had customers and put the 'phone down. She should have done that as we arrived. OK, that is my only gripe. Our room was on the fourth floor. Very large room with the usual amenities of TV, coffee/tea making facilities. Plenty of hanging space and a nice, clean bathroom. After a nice shower we were off to our friends 50th birthday celebrations. Suitably imbibed, we returned to our room. Grateful for that really comfy bed and sufficient pillows. A great nights sleep. Even though the hotel was full, because of a conference in the town, it was totally quiet. Other than our reception on arrival, an extremely pleasant stay.

We had very a spacious room and the staff were very attentive whenever we needed their help. We had a small issue with our room door, which unfortunately they couldn't resolve the issue but were offered an upgrade. The Spa is state of the art and the outdoor pond and pool were a treat! Can't wait to come back!

The drive is down little country roads and you'll feel off the beaten track when you arrive. You drive down a driveway, making it feel very grand country house. The main car park is away from the main house and there's a lovely large conifer tree currently all lit up, making it feel very Christmassey The interior matches the grand exterior with high ceilings matched with heavy drapes and dark panelling.
