I have since moved to Virginia and my daughter found out she needed new struts on her car. She has virtually no experience working on cars, but she got the parts and took it in to the Tuning Spot and the owner helped her install them and new brake pads and rotors. This easily saved her a couple thousand dollars. It makes me very happy knowing that since I can't be there for her there is a place she can go that I can trust.

My…read moresiblings and I were on a day trip from Columbia, MO, when the warning light for low tire pressure came on just a few miles outside Fayette. We had no idea where to go to have the tires checked. Thank heavens we found Community Auto! It's just a block away from the town square, so it was super-convenient. I talked with Jeff and explained the problem, and asked if he could take a look at all four tires for me (my car doesn't indicate which tire has the problem). He checked all the tires right then--no waiting--and did, indeed, find that the front left tire was low, but couldn't find a nail or anything else to cause the decreased pressure. He aired it up and made sure all the tires were at the full recommended pressure. He refused to take any payment for his work, and asked if we were going to be in town for any length of time. When we told him we were planning to have lunch on the square, he asked me to come back after lunch so he could check all four tires again and make sure they were holding the air. When I returned, he checked them and they were all still fully inflated--hurray! Again, he didn't charge me for his work. And he said the next time I visited Fayette, to stop in and let him check the tires again. We made it back to Columbia without any difficulty, and that tire has remained in good operation since then. I am so grateful for the amazing service and care that Jeff and the entire staff of Community Auto provide to their customers! What could have been a very discouraging stop to our day trip turned out to be, as my brother said, just one more example of how friendly and helpful the folks of central Missouri are. They go through to make…read moresure they turn off warning lights on the dash and do a half baked job cleaning the vehicle then knowingly sell it as if it was fine. By the time all the problems rear their heads and the lights appear again, it's too late and they won't fix it without charging you. Of course, this is assuming you're not stuck on the side of the road since you got duped into buying a junker. Then, assuming you want to use them to fix stuff, they make sure to charge you ridiculously, such as billing you for 45 minutes of labor to remove one lug nut. Then to add a little insult to your injury, their mechanics smoke in your car and leave grease and oil all over the interior. Can't recommend enough that people stay away from this shop.
