Cool Décor and good selection of food! All American themed of course!

There was a sandwich board outside the premises which, on one side, advertised their Christmas menu - a little odd considering it was now January. On the other side their lunch specials were advertised - "Lunch specials £5.95, 12-3pm". The five foot advertisement made every effort to publicise this "special". We went in and there was a party of three in front of us waiting to be seated. The place isn't that big. We waited behind this party who left after about 5 minutes - we hadn't seen them be acknowledged by the staff once. Then it was our turn to be ignored by the staff. We stood for about ten minutes with waitress after waitress passing us without acknowledging our existence. I used that time to read the specials board inside the place, which was a chalk board with the four or five specials mentioned, surrounded by promises of "£5.95". I was torn between two of the specials but thought I'd look at the menu anyway and, after being ignored for almost ten minutes (it seemed to me like the place may have been short staffed), we were seated. I looked through the menu and, upon seeing prices which made me think I was about to have in a meal in a hotel, felt relieved that the place had specials (I've eaten some excellent evening meals in quality restaurants that were less expensive than lunch in this place). I was taking a last look at the specials board above my head when the witress arrived. As I began to enquire about one of the specials she stopped me to inform me the specials weren't available that day. It appeared to me that they had decided that because it was busy that day, they wouldn't be serving the specials and wanted customers to order meals off the main menu, some of which were almost twice the price of the specials. There were no exlusions on either the specials board out the front, or in the "restaurant". I was going to order something off the menu but decided not to - I'd rather leave and be mildly embarrassed than be conned. I don't know precisely what constitutes false advertising, but I know we were there on a day and a time that was eligible for the specials, as advertised on both boards outside and inside the restaurant. We left, went to The Other Place, and had an excellent meal, as per usual. So if you happen to see a specials board outside Springsteen's and are tempted to go in, beware that they might have decided to withdraw the specials that day, even though they are advertised out the front. How embarrassing would it be if that was the case and you were out on a date, soon realising that you could have eaten in The Other Place or Villa Italia and it wouldn't have cost you as much?

The service, which is a whole staff of two-ish affair, is excellent. The coffee and the food is lovely. It's all around just a great little place.

The covid rules are such that the hospital only wants you in the door 5 minutes before your appointment time so we had time to waste. My wife and I ambled Lisburn Road and spotted this friendly welcoming place. It had outside seating and as it was about 14c we decided it's for us. I was pleased to find 2 sizes of flat white offered as most places including Starbucks only offer one size. I opted for the large and my wife chose breakfast tea with milk (£5.45 total with the coffee @ £3.15). We were invited to sit and the drinks would be brought to us so we did, and they did. Friendly folks. The flat white was tasty and a generous portion. As we sat outside I was reading their advertising screen hanging on the inside of the front facing window and one advert made me laugh (see photo). It was advertising their soup and it said: 'Foundered'. 'Try our soup of the day.' I thought of a tourist reading this. They would have no idea that Foundered means freezing cold. I'm from this statelet and I've no idea how it came to be. Like 'duckie' is a a big rock. It's a great wee place.

The entrance is small, and across from some sort of loading bay or something. But worth stopping in. Once inside, the space opens up and is very welcoming. I ordered the green eggs on toast, and it was delicious (the sausages are an add-on, and in hindsight was unnecessary). The poach was perfect, and that green sauce is divine! But... I hope you brought some dental floss or a toothpick, because you will surely have embarrassing green bits stuck in your teeth otherwise. Top quality brekkie! The OJ tasted fresh with bits of pulp in it (although they do pour it from a jug in their fridge) and the latte is of a good quality. Not busy on a Monday morning. Staff friendly, and chatty with some of the delivery people, who I assume they see on a regular basis. If in Belfast for an extended period of time, would not hesitate to dine here again.

There was a great selection of savory and sweet. I had poached eggs on sourdough. My friend had the French Toast, and it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. There was fuzzy stuff on the French toast that looked like asbestos or fiberglass. It was not, it was soft and sweet, but it sure looked odd. The poached eggs on sourdough with pesto was amazing. I also got a side of bacon. It was perfection. There is a cool little shop too. If I am back in Belfast, I'll be sure to stop back.
