I am still waiting for them to replace an apple tree they planted last year. They dug a hole the same size as the root ball not the recommended 2.5 times. The tree was drowning and finally after 2 months and many emails they dug up the trees and enlarged the hole. One tree has blooms and the other a few curled up leaves. We went with Spruce it up because of their excellent reputation. These were not cheap trees. read more

I rarely post reviews in general but after my experience here, I am making an exception.If you are not a novice looking to buy plants, then this place might work for you. However, if this is all new to you and you are looking for guidance etc, then stay far away from this place. Staff are very unapproachable, seems like an inconvenience asking questions. A progressive business would look to working with customers, generate solutions to or help navigate issues, but this Is not the case here, they create more bottlenecks. Absolute discordance between cashiers, sales team and delivery team, I was getting calls to schedule delivery for future dates when the plants I had purchased were already delivered. I requested a simple written care plan for the two plants I purchased ( spent over 500 CAD ),which they agreed to without any issues. It's been almost two weeks now and despite multiple prompts and calls,I am yet to get any care plan. Bottom line, stay away from this place, their plants are way over priced as well.... read more

We have been here maybe 5 - 7 times this year to buy various plants like trees, succulents, tropical ones, and the likes and it was always a pleasant experience til today. I specifically went there in search of the Top purifying plants for my son's room and since I just googled them that day, decided to ask for a Staff's help so I approached a lady and did ask for purifying plants . She answered in a matter of fact way that all plants are air purifying so I said, yes, but I am on the lookout for the specific top ones like spider plants, ferns, rubber plants etc to which she just pointed and robotically enumerated where it was , I felt I was an inconvenience on how she narrated it fast and the waving of her hands then eventually leaving in a whim like she had some other more important things to do than help me out. My hubby was just on the sidelines and commented too that she wasn't very helpful. That was maybe just a minute of her time... and it wasn't an exaggeration. It was pretty upsetting. So we just purchased what we had in hand at that time and decided to go look at another Garden Center after that not so happy experience. It pretty much dampened my day. I didnt get a look at her name but she's wearing glasses, she's about in her early to late 50's and we were at the green house where the succulents, and tropical plants were. Having seen and heard this same staff being nice and helpful in that place, it was a sad moment that when I thought I could be rendered the same service but the opposite left me thinking twice before going back there again.. read more

I've driven by this Garden Center dozens of times over the past few years. I didn't think to stop there, because I always made my way to one of the bigger garden centers. Well I'm happy that I finally made it inside the garden center the store itself may be small, but the rest of the place "outdoors" is huge. They have everything that one would need for their home outside. Spruce it up has green houses full of annuals, and perennials. They also have a wide variety of potted and hanging plants. Outside, just south of the main building is wide assortment of clay and metal pots. Outdoor play sets, trees and shrubs They also have a resident cat (can't remenber the cat's name). It's always roaming around, and one day it caught and killed a gopher then brought it back into the main building and had itself some "lunch". Anyways, if you're ever heading south on highway 2 check them out you'll be pleasantly surprised. Oh yeah one more thing, they guarantee all trees and shrubs for one year. A one stop garden and landscaping spot. We went here because our home builder gave us a gift certificate to use for landscaping. Prices are higher than some other places and it was hard to get a staff member to answer our questions which is why I didn't mark them as 5*. However they have a huge selection for all your gardening needs from trees, sod, plants, flowers and every little knick knack, garden gnome, cute Pinterest sign, etc... that you could possibly want to put in your garden. read more

Hi all , Very disappointed with spruce it up they sold us diseased 8 aspen cider trees for 2000$ after complaining no body come up no check and told us to bring the trees from the ground to nersury along with receipt. this year arborist told us they sold you diseased trees now I have to remove all trees and sterilize the ground .
