It was raining buckets when we stopped for gas at Spur. A few motorcycle riders were sheltering at one of the gas pumps, preventing would-be customers. However, I was excited to come here because the price of the gas seemed unbelievable. Sure enough the price was higher by $0.10 but was still a better bargain than anywhere around. I asked the attendant about the price which was featured on GasBuddy app and she said the price was changed only one hour earlier but that people flock to this station from all over the country because the owner wants to be the low cost leader. Of that I'm sure this place can be proud of! Five stars. On the other hand, everything else about this place is a little off: First, it's about 1.5 miles from I75 and you'll pass some gas stations on the way, so it's inconvenient to come here just to save a save a buck or two; and, Secondly, people were allowed to smoke inside the station, which is another large strike against them. The sleaziest, sketchiest gas station I can remember going into. The restroom is covered in graffiti, and I mean the sexually explicit "for a good time call" sort, and there is a vending machine literally labeled "rubbers and lubricants" with a handwritten sign. The entire room is lit by a single bare 40 watt bulb. It's every stereotype of a bad public restroom come to life. There's a "game room" which is a big, dark room full of video poker machines and a lot of shady characters hanging out in there. They let people smoke in there, and the whole place reeks of cigarette smoke. The employees don't wear masks. . . neither did any customer but me. They have cheap gas, but the whole place looks and feels cheap, and not in a good way. I couldn't imagine myself going back there in anything other than an emergency. read more

People smoke inside the store (merchandise smells of smoke). None of the employees were wearing masks the last several times I've been there, and neither were most of the customers. May be the lowest gas prices around, but you come out smelling of smoke and there's the increased risk of covid from the lack of people wearing masks. read more

I came here at 10 PM tonight and there was a white vehicle at pump 8 and I drove around to pump 6 and was backing up. Of course they were too rude to go to farthest pump. My car has cameras, I could back an inch away. Well the long haired woman while her husband was pumping gas started just beeping and beeping. Probably mad because I was blocking them instead of them being polite and pulling up to first pump. I stopped and she's still beeping. I told her bitch stop beeping I have cameras. Her old up the holler man puts his hand on his knife and then threatens with a gun but said he was calling the police. I told him stab me or shoot me but felt I better go before one of us was hurt. But I called the Barbourville police and the hick didn't call anyone. And they were offended I used a curse word! I bet they shouted all over their 50 member church. The reason people hate Christians. I'm giving this place a 5. The workers are always great, sweet, and I bet they have to deal with this type of mess daily. They are always great! They should get a crown!! All my people are from Kentucky and this couple showed the side of why people say inbreeding goes on here lol.
