I had one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had at this location. I came in with clear photos of what I wanted, but the tech applied extremely thick, uneven acrylic that looked nothing like the pictures I showed her. When I tried to explain why it didn't match, she asked to see the photo again and then snatched my phone out of my hand to take it to another coworker. I have never been so blatantly disrespected at a nail salon. When I asked for the acrylic to be thinner, I was told that "if they break, we won't fix them," which was unprofessional and dismissive. The product they used caused a burning sensation on my nails, and the tech handled my hands roughly the entire time. When I decided I didn't feel safe continuing and asked to have everything removed, the staff became visibly irritated. There was no apology and no accountability instead, they charged me $20 just to remove the poor-quality acrylic they had applied minutes earlier. I ended up leaving with my nails partially removed because the treatment was so hostile I didn't feel comfortable staying any longer. Between the disrespect, the rough handling, the poor technique, and the lack of basic customer service, this was an awful experience. I will not be returning and do not recommend this salon to anyone who expects professionalism or even basic respect.

PERFECT salon!! I've been trying to find a place that actually gives a good pedicure and this was 10/10. I've tried about 12 different places that all gave mediocre pedicures and overpriced and rushed. Jason did an amazing job on my toes, Im a marathon runner and they aren't that pretty and he made them all brand new! The free wine with the service is also very nice and the massage was great. The cheapest pedicure was $36 and was just what I needed. I'll 100% be back.

Great atmosphere in the salon! There are cute iced coffees that they pass around and nice decor. The staff was very nice, but my nails unfortunately didn't look like the photo I showed the tech. The color was much lighter than the photo. I asked the tech if he could shorten them and he said no.

Got nails done for my WEDDING (high stakes!) for the first time here -- and they did a great job! Especially for my manicure, Ni is meticulous and so great at what she does. I love how they turned out! It was over a week ago and they're still looking fantastic :) The pedicures feel amazing, even the most basic packages comes with an 8 min massage - my fave part! My feet felt rejuvenated. They also offer a drink although they forgot to bring mine out... lol but no worries, I also didn't say anything welp! I have to say the pedicure did not last as long and while the shape was decent, it wasn't as meticulous as the mani. The place is cute and clean. Overall enjoyable experience and I would definitely return :)

My favorite nail salon in Austin! I've had a different nail tech every time and they all have been wonderful and very precise in their work. After hot yoga, I decided to treat myself to a manicure. I was a walk-in and was seated right away. The interior looks super clean & tidy. The vibes were super chill. They had reality TV playing, which is sooooo my vibe. The pros: very nice people! I had the tech named Jessica. She was very gentle with my hands. I usually do my own nails and am quite the perfectionist. It's hard for me to give up control! Cons: Jessica was very gentle with my cuticle care, but I don't think she had the attentiveness to make sure she didn't miss a spot of nail polish. There are a few bumps on my nails and I think she was really trying. Overall, good experience. I would come back, but I would ask for a different nail tech.

I was working an acting gig in the area for a commercial, and the client needed my nails to be a certain kind of blue! Square Nails had exactly what I was looking for, and for not a bad price either! Their service was pretty good, it was early in the morning, so I was quite literally the only person there at that time. The ambiance was much like any other salon though, but it was clean and kept well! I'll definitely be going back should I need a manicure or pedicure in Austin again!

I've been going to Square Nails for over a year and have always tipped generously and supported their business. But after this last visit, I won't be returning. I showed a clear reference photo of what I wanted--simple yellow nails with daisy designs. What I got looked nothing like the photo: sloppy flower decals, mismatched shape, and overall poor execution. I told the tech five times that I wasn't happy with the design, and instead of fixing it, she applied the top coat and walked away. When I brought it up to the manager, she brushed me off with, "You should've said something." I did--multiple times. Being ignored and then blamed for their mistake is completely unacceptable. Loyal customers deserve better. I left disappointed and feeling disrespected.

Cost me $71 not including the tip for this builder gel fill! I think they did a great and thorough job. Took about 1.5hrs. They even have a coffee bar in here. Would come back!

I was pretty pleased with the service and quality of work at this salon. The interior is also quite fancy and charming with a cute little bar where they serve complementary drinks for you to sip as you get your nails done. The nail technician was very patient and tried to make sure I got just what I wanted. She even mixed paint to create a color closer to what I requested. I will be back! read more

Such a beautiful nail salon! Loved the experience and absolutely loved my nails! The staff was very welcoming and I was offered a cocktail immediately upon settling into my pedicure chair. My pedicure was very relaxing and I loved the way my dip mani turned out. The nail techs are highly experienced here and are happy to provide their suggestions and expertise. When they're good they're GREAT! But sometimes they can leave you questioning if you want to spend your money there again. Find the nail techs who do a precise job, and request them every. time. If you feel like the person doing your nails doesn't want to be there, odds are they'll leave you unsatisfied. it's a very nice and relaxing salon and most of the staff is very sweet. I would not recommend tho. I went for a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure lady was great but the manicure lady was very rude and would be aggressive towards me. the dip manicure also isn't holding up. it's been 10 days and 6 nails are chipped. less than a week it started to get cracks in it and now it's all breaking and sharp. really upset that it's wasted time and money at this point read more

Y'all, this is a new gem in N Austin! You're immediately greeted when you walk in and can't miss how clean the salon is. Their flower wall with the neon "nails before males" sign is super cute too! I was lucky enough to get paired with Ni on my first visit and she was wonderful. She's kind, attentive, gentle and very detail oriented. I was so happy with my blue ombré dip nails! Went back yesterday and got a milky French this time and again, I love it. I can't say enough great things about my experience and service by Ni! Yes, highly recommended. I've been to 5 different nails salons in the area trying to find my go-to after my old nail salon started lacking in customer service and my usual technician quit. Im so sad to update this but felt the need to let other costumers know theres HIDDEN FEES! Ive been going to square since early this past summer. In my original post (pink) , i decided recently to get the same thing done (brown). In the first photo i was charged $58 as specified on the website but was charged $70 for the latest time. I called to clarify for the difference in price so others could know what to expect. The kind man was very nice on the other side of the phone and explained: $5 for if you have longer nails (NOT TIPS just if you have naturally long nails) $5 for if you want a shape other than square or round $15 for french I hope that helps someone set expectations before going, still enjoy this salon was just shocked at the price difference in just 5 months !!! read more

Such a great experience! I called to make an appointment but when I showed up there were plenty of spots open so I don't know that it's necessarily needed. I got a mani/pedi (chrome dip on natural nails, regular polish on toes). Both techs were lovely and very detail oriented. I've been going to Domain Nails and I will absolutely be switching to here. The prices are way cheaper, I got more bang for my buck, and delicious boozy drinks! I'll be back for sure. read more

As a career focused, sales driving, keyboard ninja and spreadsheet witch, it's important that my nails are short so I can get things done at the speed I like to move in. Most salons tell me they can't do my nails the way I like and still keep them short. The people here get the job done! And you get to sip on a cocktail while they do it. read more

Ever since I know Ni, I don't go to anyone else. She always deliver & execute what I wanted!! I usually do dip powder with design, the price are very reasonable. I love square nails!! Immediately when you walk in they have the cutest decor and signage. The service is amazing and they even give you a complimentary drink from their bar. There's nothing better than getting a pedi on a Saturday with a mimosa in hand. The best new nail salon in town! I was having trouble finding a new nail place after 14 years at my previous nail place. After dissatisfaction with the second place I went I found Square Nails. There's a super cool flower-covered wall with a neon signs that says "Nails before Mails" which is very cute! They also have a bar which is hilarious because even though this is a nail place they serve cocktails... mixed drink! - not just wine and pop. Square Nails is a hidden gem! I have been there 3x now and have not be disappointed! I go every three weeks and know I will walk out with perfect square nails! read more

This is a lovely new nail salon that just opened up. The interior is very clean and stylish. The staff is very friendly too. I've had a few good manicures here, but the last one I received here will make me never go back. I paid extra for a chrome coat but it had started to chip the same day I got it. I returned the next day and asked for a touch up (which they didn't charge for which was a plus), but it left my nails looking worse than before. The (gel) polish started chipping after 2 days and my skin was also cut very deep and has become slightly infected next to my nail. It's a nice salon, but quality isn't always there and the cuts make it not worth it IMO. read more

I don't even know where to start with how great this place is! My husband and I came in for a pedicure and I also needed my old acrylics removed for a new set. The staff is so welcoming and the cocktails they offer during the service is an added plus! The pedicures were so relaxing and Nhi did such an amazing job with the design I requested for my nails. First time going here I got a gel manicure from Sy. He was very efficient and did a great job making sure I got what I wanted. I got a pedicure from a younger guy and he did a great job! He was very gentle and kind making me feel comfortable and cared for. Definitely recommend this place. I got the cheapest services and was still happy. read more

Great salon! The place is really cute and new and the prices aren't too bad. I was surprised how large the space was and I got a gel pedicure. You can get a complimentary drink which was tasty! It felt a little sterile though and there were a lot of employees hanging out. I'll keep going back for a pedicure as it's easy to book and the service was good! read more

Stopped by here yesterday for the first time and immediately admired the decor. I was seated quickly and started on a couple minutes later. I was even offered a complimentary margarita while I waited and got my nails done! Everyone was so nice and the place is so elegant. Mi was my nail tech and she did absolutely amazing plus she was such a sweet soul! I will be coming back and asking for her every time. Thanks again Mi you were amazing. read more

I had an extremely disturbing experience at this salon and would not recommend it to anyone. I came in with clear photos of a simple short acrylic set. Instead, the tech applied thick, uneven acrylic that looked nothing like what I requested. When I tried to explain the issue, she asked to see the photo again and then snatched my phone out of my hand to show her coworker. I have never been so blatantly disrespected in a salon. When I asked for the acrylic to be thinner, I was told, "If they break, we won't fix them," which is unprofessional and dismissive. The product they used caused a burning sensation on my nails, and the tech handled my hands roughly the entire time. Nothing about the process felt safe or sanitary. When I decided I no longer felt comfortable and asked for the acrylic to be removed, the staff became visibly irritated. The removal was rushed, painful, and incomplete. They left my nails over-filed, white, and damaged, yet still charged me $20 to take off the poor-quality acrylic they had just applied. I ultimately walked out because the treatment was so hostile that I didn't feel safe staying any longer. I am a healthcare professional, and I have never experienced this level of disrespect or lack of care in a service environment. The rough handling, the burning sensation from the products, the phone-snatching, and the refusal to take responsibility all point to a serious lack of professionalism. I've attached photos of the condition they allowed me to leave in so others can see exactly what took place. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to avoid this salon for their own safety and peace of mind. read more
