My son has been attending Square One for about six months. We moved over the summer and were really nervous about the transition to a new day care, but Felicia and his teachers truly made it a seamless experience. We have been so happy with the care and communication at Square One. The detailed updates in the app throughout the day are great, and we are happy with the curriculum. Our son's developmental skills have consistently progressed, and he very obviously loves his teachers. The facility is really nice - big, well organized, and clean, and they take security very seriously which we truly appreciate. There have been a lot of fun extra options to participate in like soccer, a Halloween parade, and a holiday show. We definitely recommend Square One! read more

Unfortunately, this is a facility I would not recommend. Teacher turnover, poor practices and unprofessional behavior was evident during our time here. Upon choosing a different daycare, my child immediately felt more comfortable and confident. A staff member was fired for violent behavior towards children. Parents were never informed of the situation or what occurred. I think that is enough of a reason to not recommend this environment for any child to be a part of. read more

My son has been attending Square One since he was 7 months old (he is 3.5 now). I cannot say enough good things about this school. My son, who is naturally a bit shy, shines thanks to all of the amazing teachers he has had here. The teachers and staff are incredible. You can tell they really care about the kids and they create programs that are age appropriate. I genuinely feel like my son has learned a ton from Square One and that they foster his love of learning and play. We actually need to leave the school as we are moving more than an hour away and I am devestated! I will miss it so much. What Ms. Felicia and the team have done is incredible. If you are looking for a school that is clean, safe, has an amazing circulum and where your kiddo will be happy, make friends and feel loved, then this is the place you want to be. Sqare one kids Academy is professionally run and I would highly recommend this Academy for toddlers and young kids.

My son was enrolled at Square One for just one month before it became evident that it was not the right environment for us. During his third week, he was bitten by another student, and while I understand that this can happen at daycare, the unprofessional way that the director, Felicia, managed the incident and continued to treat us afterward was completely inappropriate and disrespectful. The day of the incident, I received a message via the daycare's app that he had been "accidentally bitten by a friend". As a first time mom and brand new to daycare, I was very upset and called the school immediately. A teacher from a different class assured me that he was ok, and that the children would be separated for the rest of the day. When Felicia later called, she was abrupt and dismissive - citing this as normal behavior and suggesting that my son "could be the biter next month". I inquired what the school would do to prevent another bite, and referenced the school's discipline policy. Felicia advised that she did not have "the resources or staff" to keep the children apart, and that my son could be bitten five more times by this child without the discipline policy being invoked. At pickup, his teacher brought him to the lobby with a visible bite mark on his arm, along with an incident form for us to sign. Since this teacher witnessed the incident, I asked her for details and shared that I was unhappy with the conversation I had with Felicia. After a few minutes, Felicia came out and requested we go to her office, where she proceeded to reprimand us and state we were to never again have a conversation about biting in front of other parents. At that time, we requested to view video footage of the incident, which we were told by Felicia during our tour we would have access to if our child was ever injured on site. Felicia refused, citing confidentiality, reiterated that this was normal and that she didn't know what else we wanted her to say. The following week, I made a last attempt to make this daycare work, and told Felicia that I hoped we could move forward and have a good working relationship. She proceeded to tell me that I was passive aggressive and "making digs" about her to her staff. Confused, I asked her to explain -- this is all because I shared with teachers that we felt unheard by Felicia and that she was acting like she was annoyed with us. I'm entitled to share my feelings - about your actions - to another adult. Long story short, dealing with Square One was an absolute nightmare and I'm so glad we left. We were misinformed several times during our tour, from the video to the discipline policies, and we no longer felt our son was safe there. His new school has only highlighted how cold and detached the staff and overall vibe is at Square One. When entrusting their child/ren to the care of another adult or group, any parent should feel they can completely trust in the words and actions of the caretakers. In a daycare environment, it is a minimum expectation that the professionals lead with honesty, empathy and sensitivity to every child and family, and unfortunately that was not our experience. read more

We have been at Square One for many years and both of my boys love it! The teachers/staff truly care about the children and work to create a fun space for them to learn each day. They participate in fun experiments, have an organized theme for the week, and there is an emphasis on learning through exploration! I cannot speak more highly about Square One Kids Academy! Our children love going to school each day! As an educator, finding a well balanced early childhood program for my own children was very important to our family. The director, Felicia, was so wonderful in answering all of our questions from the start. I truly appreciated that she put our family first and didn't try to "sell" us a daycare. (In fact, we toured several schools and Felicia was the only director who did not pressure us into signing up on the spot.) Instead of finding a daycare, we found an early childhood school that is a wonderful fit for our young toddler and preschooler. The teachers take great care in lesson planning developmentally appropriate activities that tie into their weekly themes. Daily updates are shared securely through the Brightwheel app so my husband and I know exactly what each of our children are doing in their classes each day. (We love getting picture updates throughout the day, too!) It is such a joy being able to have conversations with my preschooler about what she did at school each day! As a teacher, I appreciate that learning is celebrated as Square One fosters an early love for learning, reading, and discovery. My daughter loves to visit her school library and tells me all about the books she "reads"! (Music to this teacher-mommy's ears!) It's not always easy to be a working mom, but Square One Kids Academy has been such a blessing to our family! I am so thankful for the love, care, and early childhood educational experience that my children receive each day. We have been at Square One for about a year and we, as well as my daughter, love it! Her teachers not only watch her and care for her daily but they teach her new things. This is very important since it acts as a school as well. The teachers are extremely caring and will work with your schedule. I love the shared app that the daycare and parents use! When it came to enrolling our 21 month twin girls in a day care, we looked at 4 different schools, asked a lot of questions, and did research. We ultimately decided on Square One Kids Academy and are so glad we did! We've been beyond pleased with the cleanliness of the facility, the clear, detailed communication given to parents on various matters, stimulating learning activities, fun events, and all of the warm, caring teachers who interact with our children. When we pull up to the school, our girls actually clap their hands out of excitement to go! They talk about their teachers, class mates, and all the fun they have each day, as well as all that they learned. We especially love that there's a fun, indoor recreation room/gym our children can play in if it's raining or too cold to play outside. We enjoy and appreciate receiving pictures and updates of how they're doing throughout the day, including how much they ate, when their diapers were changed, activities they did, etc. In addition, we know that we can message their teachers with a question or request, and we always get a response back in just a couple of minutes. This is so important to us. Our girls' speech has increased tremendously, and they've been learning so much, from counting, saying the ABC's, details about each holiday, the days of the week, and much more. They also work on amazing arts 'n crafts projects to take home which reflect the subjects they learn about. This school stands out from so many other schools. Square One is a fantastic preschool/daycare program. The facility is SPOTLESS, the staff are warm and engaging and Ms. Felicia runs a tight ship (which I love). My husband and I feel such comfort sending our children to school every day; they are very happy there and are learning so much. I always see the teachers interacting with the children and it never seems chaotic or in disarray. After a couple of different experiences in other programs, I can say that Square One beats out the rest and is a program that every parent should consider. read more

My wife and I have been sending our daughter to Square One Kids Academy for a year now and it has been one of the best decisions in helping her develop throughout these crucial years of her life. From day one, when we first toured the facilities, we knew that this was the most caring and safest daycare with a balanced program. The daycare looks clean because it is a new establishment, however; the director (Felicia) seems for lack of a better term "money hungry" and a not genuine. During my first tour, I saw the 3 year olds' teacher sitting on the carpet and the kids were running around like a free for all. There is a difference between kids exploring through play centers and having no presence. I was hoping it was just one of those days and looked past it because I am a teacher and I get it.. I am new to the area and I could not even explain if I could pay half for the registration fee now and the other half on the 30th so that my daughter could start on the 15th, but Felicia would not accept that. She said my daughter would not be able to start at her school if that was the situation. I am little disappointed and I wonder why she couldn't be a little understanding in that aspect. Switching preschools is never an easy transition. Emotionally and financially- so I'd hope a director in this "business" would be more mindful about it. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting with the director and teacher today for a tour. They completely put my mind at ease. It's difficult to think about putting your newborn in daycare and returning to work but the tour helped me feel so much better about it. The facility is huge, brand new and squeaky clean. They have all of the comforts of home and then some. The staff is so warm and knowledgeable so I they will be wonderful with my baby girl.
