Olympians really don't know how good they have it. This is a great park, with clean restrooms, well marked and maintained trails, and beautiful trees. I preferred the east side of the park (further from the water) with the loops through the woods. The east side is doable for most people. The west side is out and back has more elevation change and stairs.

Grounds are kept up well. Feels safe to go there. We'll be back soon. We love the outdoors in this area

    Pretty covered area.

This park is beautiful, and there is so much to do! Some nice geocaches present if you aren't a muggle. On the inland side of the park, there are multiple forested trails and a special art trail. There is also a covered area that is beautifully constructed. The trials are incredibly well maintained and easy to traverse. We went on a Sunday in the middle of the day and it was almost empty. The coastal side of the park has a huge playground for the kiddos, a beachfront area and another massive trail. The beach is a little sketchy in my opinion -- very muddy, and there are warning signs posted about toxins. We take our dog everywhere but had to avoid the beach because he eats whatever he lays eyes on, and according to the posted signs, there are icky things out there. Sad for the wild life :( But with that being said, it's still a cool area and other people seem to enjoy it. I love the trail system on the coastal side. It has a name but I forgot it. It has a few sets of steep stairs so be forewarned if you are limited in your ability to navigate them. It's quite a long trial, and there are multiple pretty water-front views. This trail is also pretty well maintained -- can't complain.

Our first time here. Took the dog with us and hiked several of the trails. We ended up on one of the cove trails. There is some giant steps as you navigate the up or downhills. Good little work out for the glutes and legs. Lots of vegetation. Walked along one of the small beaches. Was a warning sign out for the water. And came across one for poison oak. New to Washington so I need to research what it looks like so I don't have a mishap. Great nature area.

    Super pretty flowers!

I was visiting from Hawaii and wanted to do something out doors and this was one of the first things to pop up on Yelp. I'm so glad I took a chance and drove out here to check it out. The feeling of walking around surrounded by huge tall trees and to come out to see the "beach" that's part of the (pudget sounds)??? The beach I wasn't impressed with because I'm from Hawaii, but honestly just the views and the feeling of being one with nature was simply amazing. The many different trail paths you can take is simply amazing, not to mention that there's two parts of the park that is across of highway. If you have doubts because the drive from where you at, just put the car in drive and drive!!! You won't be disappointed. I visited the park 8/29/2016

What a gem. Nice walking paths & beautiful view of water & trees so glad we found this day park to enjoy. Open dawn to dusk, picnic & play area and clean restrooms. View of Capital building.

Great park with awesome trails and a beautiful garden! Parking is easy and there are lots of great places to spend time with friends and family.

This is a hidden gem of a park in the beautiful city of Olympia, WA. Priest Point park is named after the Catholic school and chapel built for native American Indians. Today it is a wooded park along Olympia's shoreline. They have a great kid's park that has wheelchair accessible play structures and swings. Lots of big trees and a nice view of Bud inlet (part of Puget Sound). You can run into mosquitos as you walk closer to the beach in the Spring so be sure to bring bug repellent or wear long sleeved clothes and pants.

Great place to enjoy nature at its best. Several trails to get to the water. I would recommend the main trail due to safety concerns. Bring old shoes since it is squishy at some spots. Not strollers or wheelchair accessibility. The park for kids is ok and has on swing for a child with special needs. Bathroom were closed next to toys. Not a lot of parking. It was a sunny day in February so probably more crowded than normal.

Ask the Community - Squaxin Park

Are there any climbable rocks here?

I dont think so. There were designated trails. And signs telling you to stay on them. Some areas because of poison oak. Hope this helps.

How long is the walk from parking to the beach?

It's not very long at all if you park by the playground- it's just right down a nice walking path that is easily accessible with a stroller! My son is 1.5 and we both walked all the way down and up with no issues!

    Are the trails stroller friendly?

majority are not. The Ellis Cove trail is not- a lot of stepped grading for inclines. The short one from playground to beach is friendly. not sure about the ones on the north/east side of the park.

So after my first review, Fengie O. came to the rescue regarding the disappointment I originally…read morefelt about Bigelow Park. Thanks to her kind instructions, I found that I had gone to the wrong park. I actually visited a small patch of land next to someone's house and thought that was the park. I was obviously off my meds that day. Anyway, this park is major cute and nice for the kids or if you wanted to grill out. The amount of space between the grill stations is sufficient enough to not make you feel like you're encroaching on someone else's territory. There is also a decent amount of kids equipment. It all looks pretty safe and there is even a single basketball net on the half court. The park is surrounded by huge trees that in a way hide the grounds and provide ample shade. There are also unisex restrooms on site and doogy doo bags for life's little messes. It's definitely a nice park now that I actually went to the right one. Thanks Fengie.

Guess who finally moved near Bigelow Park? That's right--I did! I can walk to the park from my…read morehouse. It's a decent sized park. The equipment is appropriate for children 12 months old to 11 years old. Some children who have limited mobility can enjoy the play structures. The wide stairs are set near the ground so children can transfer out of wheelchairs and climb into parts of each structure. My oldest kid will play football with her friends, but my 2 year old likes to hide in the tube connected to the small play structure and scream! In addition to the 2 play structures, there are also two spinning toys. One is shaped like a cup. Kids sit in it and spin around. The other is a pole with a platform. 2 children get on the platform and spin each other. There are swings for babies and for older children. The swings for the older children are set near the basketball court. The swings for the younger children are closer to the main play area. A tire swing is attached to the large play structure. The park is surrounded by a grassy area. It's fun to play soccer or football. Keep in mind the area is not fenced. One of the grassy sides of the park is right next to a moderately busy road. It's good to keep an eye on younger children. The parking area is a decent size. I've seen 6 minivans parked with room to spare. There are also at least 2 large handicap parking spaces. The bathrooms are a decent size. There is a drinking fountain, a covered area for picnicking and a few picnic tables. If all the picnic tables are taken, it's a lovely place to lay a blanket down and have a sit down picnic.
