I have not ever had a bad meal at this place! They also have great and fairly large mimosas. The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is that it is very small and almost always has a long wait. Fun location with wonderful wait staff. We were lucky enough to get Nicole (thank you!) on Friday, she was spot on and very attentive. Kids loved getting the chance to write on the walls and bench, even if there was limited space left to write! Best breakfast place ever! I've visited here only on Sundays so this is definitely the haps on a Sunday... Get in there early and make sure you put your name down on the clipboard; if you don't and expect a host/ess to take down your name, people may sneak up behind you and get there name on there before you increasing your wait time 10 to 30 minutes. This initial process is a "do-it-yourself"! There is a wait, but there are cute shops around where you can window shop, but don't venture too far or you may not hear your name being called. The wait staffs' goal is to get patrons in, fed, and out as quickly as possible. The menu is extensive, so this may not be the best place for the indecisive. This place offers tons of omelettes. Today, I had the tri-tip omelette with blue cheese crumbles, tomato & mushrooms...YUM! The portions are good so come HUNGRY! Oh, someone ordered a hot chocolate and the whipped cream stood at least 3 inches from the rim... And had sprinkles!!! 4.5 stars for the food, 3.5 for the service. The hostess was very bright and perky, and told us there would be a 25 minute wait. After about that long, she said there was a 4-top available and asked us and another couple next to us on the list if we wanted to sit community-table style. My boyfriend and I said yes, and the other couple debated and then said no. She didn't even register our answer, but moved on to the next two couples on the list and sat them at the table. Um, hello? Shouldn't we have been asked to combine with the next couple on the list who was OK with sharing a table? We waited another 10-15 minutes and were finally seated. The waitress didn't seem very pleased with our presence, kept banging things down on the table and being very brusque with us until the end of the meal when she seemed to cheer up a little bit. The food was great and the menu is sprawling and very fun. I had the veggie eggs benedict - english muffin with cream cheese, avocado, poached egg, and tomato and hollandaise. Extremely filling and delicious and the spuds that it comes with are great - get cheese and onion on them, my bf did and I wished I had! He had the Racy Tracy omelette - like others have said, way too heavy on the mushrooms, but overall delicious. Located in storied Downtown Truckee, this place has been one of my favorite breakfast places for years! With more than 50 types of omelettes to choose from, you'll want to go back again and again and again in an attempt to accomplish the impossible feat of trying them all. My niece swears by the peanut butter and jelly omelette (ack!) A great place for the whole family to enjoy! Word of warning: Downtown Truckee has gone to a metered parking system. The 2 star was for the service and that's not saying a whole lot, the food was at best mediocre. I had an Latin inspired sandwich (#2 on the sandwich list) but the problem was the bread was an cheap loaf of bread and it crumble at the first attempt of picking it up. The pasta salad was disgusting, it looked or probably was leftover from all other dishes and dump together with some over cooked Penne pasta. Most of my friends had the omelet which no-one said it was good, and most of them just ate half of it and left it. The service was a hit or miss there was one waitress who was really nice while the was one in tank top skinny who looked like she ate some shit and was told not to spit it out. Hearty portions and good service. We came at 8 on a Saturday and were seated immediately. I had the Racy Tracy (California omelet) with the cheesy potatoes. The omelet itself was hulking (4 eggs, plus all the fillings) and tasty. I'd advise that you get the potatoes with cheese and onion, those were a lot of fun. Curiosity got the better of us and we ordered the chocolate covered bacon. Way better than I expected, tasted like a rich chocolate bar with a crispy center. It comes with cream and strawberries too (pro tip: use the cream). The ambiance is that of a Food-Networky-ski-breakfast place. Whatever you imagine that is, is probably pretty close to correct. My girlfriend and i first found this place when she was doing an internship in Truckee for nursing. We went here on a saturday morning and it was packed! We got a table after about 20 minutes but to pass the time we walked around historic downtown Truckee. A lot of knick knack stores and novelty shops but a nice place to walk around when the weather is nice. Don't get me wrong. Its a great Omelette, and a cute little hole in the wall. But there are lots of places in Truckee tucked away in similar places that offer omelets at about half the price. I really feel like they play off of their stint on the Food Network. Its popular with locals and tourists alike, so expect a wait if its a busy morning. I've ate here twice now, the most recent being mid-March when there was a giant storm going through. Despite the fact the 80 was closed and chains or 4 wheel drive were required everywhere, this place was still pretty busy, with a steady flow of patrons coming and going the entire time I was there. The situation; after waking up at 4:30 am in Reno (we went to see the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Reno), we had been awake for 3 hours before we got to Squeeze In. Since downtown Truckee really is charming (to an out-of-towner San Franciscan who rarely comes to Truckee), we decided to stop for brunch here before continuing on to Lake Tahoe. Although tiny (hey, you were warned - it's in the name of the restaurant itself), there is a huge menu with a number of omelet and other breakfast choices. Some traditional and many experimental - celery, honey, peanut butter aren't typical things you'll see on an omelet together. The ambiance is fun and kind of relaxed - graffiti decorates the wall, with hand written messages and names of couples scribbled all around. We were at the restaurant during happy hour (special deals on select menu items between 7 - 8 am). The place wasn't too crowded at 7:30 am but supposedly gets busy soon after. Ordered: Steff's Special (often known as Joe's Special in SF) - ground beef, spinach, egg.. delicious. Generous portion size. Garth's Breakfast Sandwich - my boyfriend got this. It was a little dry for him, though a tomato plus avocado and bacon (extra add-ins) gave it some more moisture. Not the best sandwich because of this factor, but hot sauce and the add-ins helped to make it perfectly delicious. The grand finale of dinner was the chocolate covered bacon. I like bacon and chocolate (separately); there was definitely more savory than sweet flavors. Though I wouldn't need to try it again, I'm glad I had it. Oh wow ! New favorite breakfast joint. I had the special which was twice baked potato scramble with cheese, bacon and green onions. My husband had the same except He added a short stack. The pancakes were some of the most tastiest and fluffy I've ever had. Went here for our last breakfast in Tahoe last weekend based off the great reviews & we weren't disappointed. While we did have to wait a while (party of 12) once we got in, we had a great time. Some people may not like the decor, but we all thought it was very in keeping with the laid-back The service is great here. All the waitresses were helpful, attentive & were willing to joke around, not taking things too serious. The food was also very good. The "famous" omelet (Racy Tracy?) was quiet good, albeit smaller than anticipated. The potatoes are excellent and adding the onions & cheese is a cool option. Skip the cheese sauce & go with one of the salsa's, hot sauces, or pesto; the cheese sauce is just plain ol' nacho cheese. Two of the eggs benedict got good reviews from our group along with the bacon & eggs, but the pancakes were a just okay. When I walked in there was no one at the host station, nor was there a sign indicating that customers were free to seat themselves. So I stood there for several minutes in a somewhat empty restaurant. The host walked towards me, made eye contact and proceeded to have a conversation with someone who was already seated. Surely that conversation could have waited. (I watched her repeat this crappy service with several other people.) After finally being seated I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was the blandest burger I've ever had. How do you screw up a bacon cheeseburger? The cheese and bacon do all the work for you! And yet, here I was with an unseasoned burger w/ flavorless cheddar cheese. Moral of the story: don't eat here if you wanna enjoy your experience. read more

We ordered the Racy Tracy, Spanish Flay and Queen Maggie. With a yelp checkin, you can get a free mimosa! We had the free mimosa and coffees. The stuffed French toast was okay. It was a little dry and under-stuffed. However, the presentation was great with the loads of strawberries and sliced bananas topped with cinnamon and confectioners sugar. It looked great, but Mimi's cafe and IHOP do the stuffed French toast better. As for the Racy Tracy, I had it with a free side of tomato pesto sauce. I felt like it was a non-spectacular omelette - weird that it beat Bobby Flay! For the Spanish Flay, it was vegetarian. It was a little overpriced for what was there, we added meat to ours, but more meat would have made it a lot better. The customer service was good. We would like to visit again (next time with a sharpie in hand to write our names on the wall with the other patrons). We would like to try again, but different dishes. read more

Been there many times over the past few years and I have never been disappointed in either the food or service. Its a really small enclosed cafe, but gives you that hometown feeling like you see on all the Christmas hallmark movies. If there is a negative it's parking on this little downtown street. Also, it's a little hot inside during the summer, but fantastically warm in the winter, plus all the wonderful food smells. If you're ever on your way to or from Reno, then give this place a try. When you're done, walk down the little street to the candy store. Most days you'll see someone making toffee in the window and it's really neat for the kids to see. read more

The best omlete I have ever had in my life. I had the #61 or #62 (ask your waitress, both of them recommended it to me, a hawaiian omlete with cream cheese, jalapenos, pinapple and honey). Can't go wrong here. Locals love this place. Saturdays and Sundays there is almost always a wait, but worth it! (it is called the"squeeze in") Omlettes anyone? There are about 50 different ones to chose from. Try my hangover cure - biscuits and gravy, side of bacon, coffee and a mimosa. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and curteous, always checkin up on you, "food good?, more coffee?" Oh, and don't be affraid to write on the walls, or post your business card on the wall. A little on the pricey side, especially if you add a couple sides. But a great, fun place to go. Highly recommend it. Had to recently take this one down a star. The food is really good, hands down. The pricing gets a bit absurd though, $4 for a side of bacon?!?! Expect to wait for awhile to be seated, the place is small and very popular. The staff is welcoming and friendly. About the food... I had a fantastic omlette with a mix of bacon, mushrooms and avocado. The addition of the tomato pesto sauce added a very nice touch to the flavors. My Mimosa was a generous serving of champagne and OJ, and not the cheap kind of bubbly that gives me a headache. Try adding the cheese option to your potatoes, everyone who tried mine was picking potatoes off of my plate from then on. I highly recommend this place so long as you're not in a hurry.
